Iolani gives off a slight laugh as the colonel moved onto the balcony. Turning she nods to the colonel. "M'lord Colonel we were just discussing an incident that had happened between ye horse and the Lady Aubrianna...forgive me for keeping her from ye.?
"There you are my love," Shafer stepped on to the balcony. He nodded to Iolani and then took Aubrianna by the arms leaning towards her he aimed his lips to hers, but at the last minute Aubrianna turns her head and her cheek is kissed. Shafter tightened his grip on her arms as all the times she?d turned from his kisses flashed in his mind. He thought it to be her was her maiden modesty, when all along it was that she had no feelings for him.
"Chadwick," she placed her hands on his chest. "Chadwick you are hurting me. What has gotten into you?"
"I'm just excited is all," he looked to Iolani and grinned. "Please join us will you." He led Aubrianna roughly into the ball room.
"She is truly wittier than I expected?perhaps she will be a good match yet for ye," keeping her face neutral, Iolani watched with a growing concern, Shafer was not acting himself.
"Chadwick you are making a scene," she said through a smile and tried to walk as normal as possible as she was almost drug into the room.
"Yes Iolani she is surely witty." He picked up a fork and tapped it against a glass. "Everyone! Everyone!"
Iolani gave a poke to the colonel?s rib, a chiding smirk to her lips. "Smile ye look like ye are ready to do battle."
"I am," he growled through his teeth only to her and Aubrianna.
Iolani had followed to the other side of the couple appearing nonchalant as she glided rather than walked.
Aubrianna found it hard to breathe, and was losing feeling in the arm Shafer was holding. She looked around frantically for Gloria as Shafer began speaking.
A loud ringing of metal on glass brought Rolan?s attention to a man holding Aubry close to him. Looks like some words were to be said.
"I have loved our Lady Aubrianna for quite sometime now." He turned towards her smiling a smile she was not used to seeing, a cold one. "My love. I would no longer breathe if I were to ever lose you." He dropped to one knee.
Gloria stood near the doorway to the apartments. She had been giving orders to the maids and now stood silent as she watched the announcement. There had been no time to speak with Aubrianna before and she feared what the servants had revealed to her about Howard. Things were as they say in the old country, snow balling, and fast.
