The dragon slid toward the School once again, wind rustling her wings as she clutched a knarled staff gently but firmly in her paw.

Nudging the door open quietly, she slid inside, moving down the hallway as silently as she could, though the sound of talons probably gave her away.

Glancing about then, she slid quietly into the infirmery, coiling up on one of the furthest beds from the door, just hugging the staff close.

She always knew when Icer was around and knew when something wasn't quite right, the talons would click their way down the hall and to the infirmery. What could be troubling the sweet dragon now? Great sadness is what Sha'uri sensed. She made her way to the room and came to sit gently on the bed beside Icer, stroking her scales to soothe..

"What's happened, hun?"

A slight purr given as her scales were stroked, but her gaze never left that staff. Speaking softly to her friend and teacher as she remained on the bed, my first Stepfather passed a few nights ago in a unfortunate accident.

Talons released the photo then of the silver dragoness Moon, cradling the tiny blue hatchling, and the Drow standing beside the two, clutching the very staff that she now held.

{S}, he was my first Stepfather, before I ever met daddy Aurok.., he'd just returned....

She looked at the picture carefully, committing it to memory and giving her a heartfelt hug.

"I'm sorry this happened. Death of family is never easy to take. Is there anything I can do for you?"

She tried smiling as she was hugged, but just like the tears, it wouldn't come, blue eyes kept on the staff, though she spoke softly to Sha'uri.

Just some company would be nice.., and maybe a little juice later.., she didn't want to tell Sha'uri that she hadn't eatten anything since the day he passed.

She pulled back from the hug just enough to conjure up a bowl of juice for Icer. It appeared in a convenient spot. Then she went back to stroking her scales adn was quiet, just being there for her friend.

Still speaking softly, thank you Sha'uri.., a side glance toward the juice a moment, before burrying her head against her friend's shoulder.

The juice could always wait.

What else could she do but hold her friend and soothe her while Icer mourned.

"It's all right, hun.. It's all right."

I know Sha'uri.., still speaking softly before pulling her neck back to lap at her juice.

She drank her fill, leaving the rest for later, looking back to her friend then, this staff and the picture are all that remains of my first stepfather.

The dragon held the staff so that Sha'uri could see, but she didn't release her grip, the staff seeming to help her, almost as if he was there.

Nodding, she looked the staff over with a keen gaze, studying it for magical properties. She did not try to take it.

"A throne of bones... In my grandfather's castle there was a throne of bones. The oddest thing was, that when he came up missing, I found that old throne a comfort for some reason. I think because he would often sit there. I still miss him so much."

She paused a moment.

"Do you know how to use that thing?"

Shaking her head, I have no idea how to use it, or what it even does.., peering back to the staff she clutched.

I never saw Sanrik use it for anything else but leaning on, finally managing a smile for her friend.

I still have no idea how to tell momma her mate is gone...

"I'm sure you'll find a way to tell her."

She gave a reasuring nod. She was thoughtful for a moment before she gently, ever so softly asked.

"How did Sanrik die?"

He passed while helping someone, I'm not sure if he used up all his energy or how, but lal I remember was that I was there.

Then as his body disappeared, the photographappeared in his place, I guess he wanted me to have it, that and the staff.

"I know it's difficult, but you should go tell her that her mate is gone. She may even feel that already. Maybe one of those things were meant for her? I don't know... I'm just saying."

She hugged Icer gently.

"And then when you do, know that if the desire is there, I am capable of ressurections.... if the spirit is willing and the gods deem it allowed... I can. For now, you should seek out his mate and speak with her. It's the right thing to do hun.. I know how you feel."
