Here is a thread dedicated to short bios for the players at Ravensheart

Briarius Ravensheart
Headmaster
Elven Sorcerer (specialty of Necromancy)

The Headmaster is dedicated man. That's really that all that comes across constantly. He puts all of his energies into his work at the Academy. When the Academy is doing well, he is in a good mood. When the Academy is doing poorly, he is in a dour mood.

He looks to be in the late stages of young adulthood (35-40 by human years). His raven black hair offsets an almost typical specimen of elven anatomy. He is in shape, unlike the typical scholarly elves. His bright blue eyes seem to burn with a fire that will never be quenched. Handsome by any standards, he seems to have an aura of aloofness and indifference to anything or anyone that has nothing to do with his work.

His history is shrouded by mystery. There are rumors that he was once a Guild Leader here, a demi-god half-elf, a knight, etc etc... When asked directly, he usually responds with a sigh and some comment that his past was a long long time ago.

Kyllendria Blackfane
Mistress of the Books of The Great Academy
Elven Demilich

Kyllendria was born to an elven noble family centuries ago in Kadorasil. She, as the second child, was to study magic. She excelled in the craft very quickly and her thirst for knowledge was insatiable and alarming. Her parents, although proud of their young daughter, warned her that knowledge for knowledge's sake was a fruitless endeavor. She did not listen and eventually when she learned all of the secrets her town had to offer, she left. She journeyed for many years and in her pursuance of the truth, she forsook the Gods of Kadorasil, as many intellectuals do. She also met a young Paladin of the God of Wisdom. He was a half-breed, but seemed to be a good man. He helped her slay a great and evil lich. He wanted no part of the lich's treasure, save one small bag of gold for his church. Kyllendria had finally found more knowledge and claimed the lich's sanctuary, Blackfane Keep, her own. As she spent the next years there, she learned more and more. Eventually, she learned that although she was a long lived elf, she was not immortal and she had aged quite a bit already. She made the choice to become a fell lich herself. She followed the ritual and cast it well. She spent the next several centuries in solitude, studying. It was in this study that she realized something. She was undead and doomed to eternal torment in the mortal life and in the immortal one. She begged the gods to forgive her hubris and they responded, with a fire that destroyed half of the keep. However, this fire revealed the secret passages. One of these passages led to a vault. Within this vault was two items. A book and a dagger. She read the book and it explained that the dagger was part of another ritual which would grant the caster the power of gods or to humble oneself. It was called the Penitent's Dagger. It could be used by those who wanted to truly atone for sins so grave no lifetime was enough, to sacrifice themselves to the gods for forgiveness. It was perverted to also grants immeasurable power through advancing the lich state. Sadly, given the choice between power to transcend dimensions and atonement, she chose the power and became a demilich. She was immediately cast out of Kadorasil.
When Kadorasil was destroyed by the God of Trickery, Kyllendria sensed her body was destroyed and that she could re-enter Kadorasil. She was horrified at what she found. She found void. It was all gone. She sulked for a while when she noticed a flicker of creation here and there. She watched as everything was re-created around her. Watched as the elves were reborn and she saw the happiness and beauty. She watched on as humans passionately pursued life. She felt remorse. She had abandoned what it was to be mortal before she ever knew what that meant. She was doomed. She fled to the ether and came across The Great Academy. She sensed it was the home of a God and wondered which one. It was then that said God answered her question by appearing.
"Greetings, Kyllendria. It's been quite some time."
The Paladin... The Paladin was a God here. She then knew He was God of Elves, Knowledge, and the Cycle of Life. She begged him forgiveness and to end her existence. He refused. Well, he refused to end her existence. He granted forgiveness, but let her know that she still needed to be punished for her hubris. He made her Mistress of the Books of The Great Academy. He also granted her the power to enter any dimension that the worshippers of said Paladin could be found and become mortal again for 12 hours. She could take any form she wanted, but was no longer magical in that form. The lessons that she needed to learn were those life lessons she skipped in her pursuit of knowledge.
To this day, she has been meticulous at keeping The Library and has learned to carouse quite a bit on Kadorasil and in RhyDin.
