Melody gave Cadence a smile and then opened the office door to speak quietly to Sha'uri a moment. Then she came back out leaving the door opened.
"She's in her office. You may go in if you like."


Inside, Sha'uri sat at the desk going over the not so fun paperwork. She was only too glad to put it down and give Cadence a smile as if thanking her for the distraction.

"What can..."

She noticed the fae's demeanor and grew a little worried.

"Have a seat, hun. What seems to be weighing so heavy on your mind?"

She'd wave a finger to the door and it would close after Cadence came in.

If one bit of news didn't make her go Hmm.... that last one had her completely off guard. Was Cadence talking about her son, Alex? Sapphire hues couldn't have been bigger, mouth gaping open.

"My Son? Uh... em... er..."

The thought never occurred to her that Alex would be reading anything like that. He was always busy reading some technical manual and never seemed to show enough interest in dating of any kind. She wondered if Cadence would be one to jog her son into motion and if she'd have to call her daughter one day. It never ever occurred to her that this might come about with anyone. She could be a grandma some day. She glanced down to her belly and back up to Cadence. She had to think of something to say, if only for this innocent one's sake... regardless of who she might be interested in.

"People find it pleasurable and they do do this sometimes, but that is for when they are in love. It leads to more things like procreation, Cadence. It leads to making babies. Sometimes people do it when they aren't in love and that's just wrong. You really shouldn't unless you're with someone you feel will be there for you not just for that but as a friend, too. Really, you should wait until you are married. As for Gabe, I will try to have a talk with him. You did the right thing coming to me with this. I can't see letting something like this go. What place did he attack and was there damage involved? Who may I contact to ask them about it? I'd like to make sure any damage is fixed and they are reimbursed somehow."

Sha'uri seemed relieved that it wasn't her son, though the mention of a Ravenlock had her grinning with understanding. She couldn't blame Cadence on that one and thought it best to leave that one alone. Suffice to say, Sha'uri totally sympathized.

"You're welcome, Cadence. I'll try to talk to Gabe and to the Bonnie Corp. Mary. I'll ask for her then. As for a womanizer, it is someone, usually a man, who pursues multiple casual relationships with women. What is meant by that, is that they just want to have sex with them really and not a relationship. They want the sex and that's all they're after. Sex is what is done to procreate. Did Nana ever explain any of this to you? About sex and love and relationships?"

She always thought Cadence was innocent, but she never knew until that moment just how innocent the girl was. This was going to be a long conversation.

"Well, Yeah. It's very different. You see... it's like.. well..."

It was the most difficult conversation Sha'uri had on the subject. She never had to explain it to either of her sons.... Alex had Bazil to give that talk, Bryce had Triv .. and Sha'uri never had to give it. She kept thinking of her unborn daughter the whole time, which made it even more difficult to explain it all. However, Cadence was very persistent.

Two hours went by before their conversation came to a close, having been sidetracked several times by other things. She did get out the books and diagrams which made it easier to explain some things. She also gave Cadence a few good romance books as she ended the topic.

"These should help give you a better idea, Cadence. Keep in mind, that while these books are fun and exciting, love doesn't always happen that way. Most of these aren't really realistic. My best advice is take your time. If it's meant to be, then it will be."
