"Well, the biggest danger in the stables are the horses. They are very wary if people are right behind them and sometimes they kick. They are very strong and could hurt someone really bad. Some can be particularly sensitive when they are in their stahls, so... you have to be careful around the horses. Some even bite. I've gotten nipped a few times, but it is not as bad as their kick. Not all horses are like that. Some are very gentle and kind. I'll have to bring Nightstar, my horse, here someday soon. Maybe I'll take you with me for a field trip... and if Bri is good, maybe he can go, too."
She laughed softly.
"But sometimes it is hard to tell if a horse is going to be nice or not especially if you are not familiar with them. That's why I don't want you around them without an adult. When you get older and used to being around the horses, you'll be okay by yourself then. I'll teach you how to ride them someday."
She started walking towards the residential rooms, talking as they went and just enjoying it all.
"The temple is a place to worship various gods. Not everyone believes in them, and those that do, don't always worship the same ones. It's all very personal on which one seems to suit you. Deciding on one can take time and requires careful thoughtfulness and a bit of soul searching to understand what is truely in your own heart. Temples are different from place to place. Some only allow worship of One god, others allow worship of compatable gods and others yet allow any and all gods. Our temple here, I have set up certain areas of it to allow worship of any non-evil gods while the majority of the temple is dedicated to Corellon Larethion, God of the Elves on Toril... also the god of magic and war. Abeir Toril is a planet far far away from here through the nexus. Anyway, Corellon is whom I serve. I respect other compatable gods, but Corellon is whom I serve as a Priestess. We can study the various gods and religions later on."
She opened the door to the building and they stepped inside, moving through the kitchen to some steps leading up.
"As for how they make the pointy sticks fly... well, if you look at them, you'll see they have feathers. There's something called aerodynamics involved in the design which helps the air flow over the top and underneath to lift it and help it glide through the air after kinetic energy is charged up from the bow string being released."
She stopped herself, realizing she was probably way over the little girl's head.
"I'm sorry."
She chuckled and pulled a rubberband out ofher pocket., stretching it between her fingers.
"Have you ever played with a rubberband? See, it stretches and that builds up energy because it just wants to snap back into place. So, the more you stretch it, the more energy is waiting to be released. If I let go, whatever energy is built up will be released and force the band to snap back the other way. The more I pull it the harder it's going hurt when I let go. It's just like the string on a bow. And since the arrow is on the string when it happens and there is nothing keeping it on the string, then the arrow just keeps going when the string stops, and the arrow flies through the air with the feathers there to help it fly further and with accuracy."
She demonstrated by snapping the rubberband between ehr fingers, flinching with an, "Owe" and a grin. Then she handed Tina the rubberband and paused in the hallway outside of her -Sha'uri's room. She grinned watching Tina play with the rubber band.
"So this is my room. The door down there is to your room but i want to show you this first. follow me this way."
She opened her door and went inside. Her room was big, open and spacious. Warm bold colors filled the room with wine and royal blues. A fireplace was in a living room type area in the middle of the room and a huge queen size canopy bed at the other end with a study area opposite of that, a bookcase lined the walls at that end. At both ends were a set of double doors.
She went to the set to the left down by her bed and opened it up to a short alcove/hall with another set of double doors across the way. To the right was a large window and potted plants before it. to the left was a small door, which was a linen closet. She moved across the hall to the double doors and opened them up to reveal a huge bathroom with another set of double doors on the other side.
She opened these up to another bedroom, not as big as Sha'uri's but at least a good twenty by thirty feet long. There was a small door opposite, which was a closet, and the main doors to the room on the left. There was a small fireplace along the outside wall opposite of the main door and a bay window beside it. The full sized bed also had a canopy. The room was decorated with whites mostly and trimmed with pastel lavender, blues and pinks with violet and roses in the curtains, puppy and kitty feet prints along the walls and a big 'ol fluffy white fake fur rug on the floor and a rocking chair and loveseat to set before the fireplace. A small desk and a some shelves were at the end. It almost was like Sha'uri's room, only slightly smaller.
