:: With Wyheree at her side and her cloak and new dress on she slowly makes her way up to the school. She is nervous and excited at the same time as she walks down this path to her new life and hopefully a better one::

Wyheree...what..is..this..school..for?

:: looking up at her with curious eyes as the approach the gates to her new home::

Wyheree

She walks with Tina, staying close as they walked to the School. "This school is for those wishing to learn magical knowlegde. It is a safe place. I will worry less with you staying here - the Inn can be a dangerous place."

The path to the school is not easy to find, but Wyheree knows the way, and soon they are before the doors. Smiling gently at Tina, Wyheree knocks, and the doors open, and they both make their way inside.

It had been a long two days for one Sha'uri Arrowny. Having gone to the Inn the day before for some of those delicious cinnamon bun buns by Rosie O'Del, she was there when a local bard named Gwydion was murdered right before everyone's eyes. She knew the streets of RhyDin were getting worse and the Inn on that morning was prime example. The nexus was also getting worse with its Fluxes... time and the convergence of realms/universes were in some sort of chaotic cycle ... or so went some of the theories.

Sha'uri had tried to save the bard's life, but his soul had been in too much torment from the betrayal. And there was nothing she could do to bring him back, save for the dark magics that could force it. She simply would not do that. It was while she was setting him to rest, and others were in persuit of the murderer, that the nexus had a rather harsh cycle and the flux drew her from the Inn and flung her outside the city limits. It was several hours later when she awoke in some abandoned farm and began to wander around trying to find her way back.

By the time she wandered in to the market area, news of the bard's death had hit the streets. Sha'uri, still covered in Gwydion's now dried blood, made her way to the cemetary to pay her respects. It gave her a resolve to do something she had only spoke about in passing ... to create her own Knighthood, a crew of protectors for what is truly right. RhyDin sorely needed it.

It was no surprise when Sha'uri went to the Inn, that she was bound to take Tina in to her care. The orphan did not belong there and Sha'uri could not just leave her. She didn't have the heart to take her to the local orphanage either. She didn't have the heart to make her leave with her then either. The girl was simply adorable and seemed to be having too much fun. Sha'uri felt she would be safe with Wyheree. Besides, she needed to get home and clean up, even though she managed to wipe the dried blood off at the Inn, she needed a bath.

No time was wasted coming home, cleaning up and setting up a room for Tina right next to her own. It was were she was at when she sensed the two coming down the path. Dressed in a white gown with oak leafs and tied with thin golden rope, her bare feet moved swiftly to greet them only a few moments after they came into the administration building. Her smile was bright as she motioned them towards a receiving room off to the side of the main entryway.

"Hello! Wyheree thanks so much for brining her. Tina, your dress is adorable. You look very nice. I'm so glad you are here. Would you both like some tea and crumpets? The cook just finished making them not an hour ago."

:: Smiling she makes her way over looking in a small awe at Shauri's own gown as she lightly touched the golden leaves and then giggled::

thank you.....Your dress.... is pretty.... too Miss ....Shauri....

:: Listening to her speak about the crumpets she smiles and nods quickly very excited to be in such a big place....in was it seemed like her orphanage of the past but it was more lively and beautiful that she just could not see it as that dreay place.::

:: Tugging on Wyheree very lightly just growing a little bold she tries to step up next to Shauri wondering what type of life she will have now that she has a real place to call home::

Briarius

The Headmaster enters the reception area from the grand staircase. As he makes his way down the stairs, his eyes are fixed on the Ice Mage. His rich black clothes are trimmed in blue. He wore the clothes of an adventuring sorcerer. He carried a black travelling spellbook, emblazoned in silver on the cover of the book was a skull with leaves.

"It seems we have visitors."

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-06 17:46 EST
"Why, thank you."

She laughed softly at the girl's curiostiy about the leafs.

"They are real, but dipped in gold." she explained.

She watch Tina step up, noting that bold little glimmer in the girl's emerald eyes. She wondered just what the girl would grow up to be and a silent prayer was thought in her mind for the wisdom to guide this one well. A hand was extended to gently stroke the side of the girl's head as a show of affection that was fast developing within Sha'uri for the girl. Just as she was going to say something, Bri's voice was heard from behind and she turned slowly to see him.

Briarius looked good dressed in black and seemed in good spirits, which was even better. Perhaps he even looked younger... it reminded her of the day he met her mother... she shook off the thought.

The book he carried caught her interest. She didnt' ask aloud, but the curiousity was clearly evident as she stared at it until he was at the bottom of the steps. She had unconsciously stepped closer to Tina and left her hand atop the girl's head as if to reassure her it was okay, she trusted Bri holeheartedly.

"Ah, so the Master is about. Yes, we do have a visitor. Master Briarius, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine, Wyheree...... Wyheree this is Master Briarius Ravensheart."

She paused briefly.

"I'd also like you to meet our new ward, Christina Storm. She likes to be called Tina, though. Tina, say hello to Master Briarius."

Smiling down at Tina for a moment to coax her on, she glanced back up at Bri only now realizing she'd said *Our*. It was an awkward shift of her eyes as if to say... sorry? well...you know what I mean.

Wyheree

Date: 2006-08-06 19:57 EST
Wyheree smiled as she saw how quickly Shauri had taken to Tina - and vice versa. "You are most welcome, Shauri - and thank you for offering her a more fitting place." She smiled softly. "And tea sounds lovely."

She then felt Briarius's eyes upon her, and she turned to greet the Headmaster, sweeping into a curtsey. "It is a pleasure to see you again, Master Ravensheart. I escorted Tina here to be sure she arrived safely." Her silver eyes also noticed the book - and she wondered what sort of magic it contained.

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-06 22:59 EST
"Very good then."

The Headmaster looks at Tina.

"So, Mistress Storm, you will be our first student?"

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-07 00:07 EST
:: She curiously but shyly steps forward her broken speech speaking out once more::

Nice..tow..meet you..too..Master..Briarius

:: She looks about silently once more in awe as the adults speak about her and other things..her hand lightly touching the railings to the stairs in curiousity::

Shauri

"I suppose you could say that. She will need to be taught like any other child, though I do not know if she possesses any magical talent yet. She's an orphan, Bri. I found her at the Red Dragon Inn."

She would leave it at that not knowing much more about it. She knew Bri would understand. A glance was spared between the two, Wyheree and Bri, she would ask them later over tea... if Bri stayed.

"Well, if you would all go into the receiving room, I'll bring in some tea and crumpets. Tina.... we can tour the place later after tea. Trust me, you'll have plenty of time to explore." she smiled to her.

"If you'll all excuse me, I'll go get our refreshments now."

She waited for acknowledgement before she left to go do just that.

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-07 07:48 EST
"Tea and crumpets?! Bah! I believe we may have some cookies...now if only I had a helper to find them in the kitchen..."

The Elf smiles and looks at Tina, waiting for a response.

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-07 09:28 EST
Bah to tea and crumpets? Fresh baked crumpets split open and lathered in a sweet cream spread? Yes, Sha'uri blinked to that, glancing at Bri as if he were off his rocker.

The glance was brief, replaced by a soft chuckle, realizing what he was up to ... baiting Tina to join in the great hunt for the cookies. She wondered if a cookie monster was going to be involved, though Bri would fill that capacity quite nicely on his own. He'd been known to crunch a few cookies in his day, and steal a batch or two. Sha'uri wasn't the only one who seemed to be taken to the girl. She'd forgotten how well he was with children.

No, not forgotten, it was just that she hadn't really experienced it until now. It warmed her soul more then she expected.

"Okay, skip formalities. Why don't we all just go into the kitchen, hmm? Kill several birds with one stone. Then, Bri, you and Tina can hunt for cookies and I'll get the milk, tea and crumpets ready."

She set her feet in motion now, walking past him to whisper with a chuckle. "Bah to crumpets? Sweet cream and all? I know better."

Her pace was quickened as she headed for the kitchen.

"Kitchen is this way!"

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-07 11:09 EST
:: She blinked and nodded to Shuari about exploring and then someone said...cookies! after that she was bouncing up and down a little::

I'll ...help.... find them...Master Briarius!

:: At first she looked at the crumpets wondering what they were but after the cookies she was off looking about quickly in the room until she heard they might be in the kitchen:

Come on ...Master Briarius...lets go.... to the..... kitchen.... and find them...please!

:: She lightly tugged on his robe smiling::

Wyheree

Date: 2006-08-07 11:34 EST
Seeing how quickly Tina had taken to Briarius, she smiled softly. "I had best take my leave now. Thank you again, Shauri, for seeing to Tina. Master Ravensheart, it was a pleasure seeing you again." Wyheree then made her way back to the front door, unsure if she would be able to phase away while within the school, and unwilling to risk an accident with her magic.

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-07 12:41 EST
That had to have been the quickest drop off...

"Okay, Wyheree. Thanks for brining her. Come back any time."

She smiled and waved, then continued towards the kitchen. There she pulled out the crumpets and sweet cream, made the tea, poured some milk into glasses and sat down to gage Bri's progress on the grreat cookie hunt.

Sip, sip...munch, munch. Ahh...sweet cream and crumpets!

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-08 07:39 EST
::He smiled at the little one and let her tug him into the kitchen. After "looking" for a little bit, he used a minor magic to make the cookie jar rattle on the counter and hoped Tina would hear it and look there.::

Now where could they be...?

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-08 10:29 EST
:: She search with Briarius for a while and after a few minutes she heard a rattle...she blinked and looked for the source...seeing the jar move she quickly went over and opened it...looking inside she jumped and smiled::

Master..Briarius I found...them...I found them..see!

:: Carefully she took the jar too him showing him the cookies she found as they made their way back to Sha'uri::

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-08 14:41 EST
"Bravo! Bravo! Well done, young one. "

Sha'uri clapped from her chair, which was along the side near the end of the kitchen table. Her smile was bright as she watched them.

"Why don't you both come and sit."

She put the small round pastry bread, which had been cooked on the griddle split along the top and then toasted with sweet cream lathered into the split, onto plates. These she place opposite of her and at the end of the table beside her. She used her foot to scootch a chair out for each of them. Glasses of milk were already there and cups of tea beside these. She motioned for Bri and Tina to have a seat.

"So, what kind of cookies are they?"

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-08 14:58 EST
:: Blinkiing she took the chair but then stood to peer into the jar::

The..look like..brown dots on it...um..I think..chocolate chip...

:: She takes one out and bites into it curiously at first then her eyes widen as she descovers chocolate chip cookies!::

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-08 19:32 EST
::He smiles a bit and then sits himself.::

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-08 20:48 EST
She only meant to glance at Bri, but it turned into an expectant sort of stare. Though she smiled, inside she was suddenly nervous. Why wasn't he eating anything? She briefly worried that maybe Erique wasn't destroyed after all... Nah, that couldn't be right. Her smile would easily brighten as she looked to Tina. She even chuckled at the widening of her eyes.

"Well, don't just sit there looking at 'em. Eat up!"

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-08 21:29 EST
I feel that I should eat something of substance before I eat too many sweets.

::He heads to the cold chest and gets some meat and cheese out.::

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-08 23:54 EST
:: She continues eating the cookies and making sure she keeps her eyes well away from the meats Master Brairius was bringing out shifting just a little uncomfortably as she bit into another cookie and then drank some of the tea smiling::

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-09 07:21 EST
::After a moment or two, a red haired elf with piercing green eyes enters the room. She is wearing a short dress that seems to be made of hide and accented with leaves. Her voice is bubbly and melodic::

Headmaster, you are needed in your office.

::She smiles at him as he sighs and puts the food away and turns to Tina::

Alright Mistress Storms, I trust you will be well and if you need anything, simply ask. Be certain to not eat more than 2 cookies. We need to make certain they last until we can go to the bakery to get more.

::With that he follows his aide out of the room::

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-09 09:26 EST
:: Already through the second one she smiles and nods as she puts the lid on the jar and sets the cookies aside...after a few minutes of eating she sets everything down very full now::

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-09 10:28 EST
She smiled watching him head for the ice box, relieved he seemed to be hungry after all. Although she noticed Tina's uncomfortable demeanor having seen it at the Inn earlier. It was obvious now that the girl was not a meat eater. She would make sure there were fruits and veggies at every meal to balance out her nutritional needs. As for Bri, her heart skipped a beat as he fingered the meats...

Until the red haired elf with the mini leather dress walked in. Her smile faded. One word came to mind about the new aide. Actually, several words came to mind about the aid, but they were well hidden behind Sha'uri's smile.

"No rest for the wicked!" she quipped, trying to keep a light, mirthful tone and sent a wink Bri's way.

It wasn't his fault the aide was how she was. Of course, he hired her. Hadn't she suggested that he... Oh, frolic! A very odd frown ... pout?.... gripped her visage as she watched him leave with the aide. She visibly shook her head to clear her thoughts, only vaguely hearing what he said about the cookies, the bakery..... was he worried about the money?

She looked at Tina and shrugged. The cookies weren't that big. It had to be the money.

It was her wake up call that she'd have to keep a closer eye on the finances of the place and slip a few coin or supplies here and there to make sure it kept going. She knew it was only a matter of time before they were able to gain more students and the flow of money would follow to sustain the School. Right?

She ate her snack in silence, debating in her mind until she came to only one solution. She'd have to act as more then just priestess and blacksmith. She'd have to put on that teacher's hat and be that jack of all trades. It was decided. She'd talk to Bri about it later, though she knew he wouldn't object. She'd do anything to help him be happy and keeping this school was part of that.

For now, as the two finished their snacks, she smiled brightly to Tina once again.

"Which would you like to do first... have a tour of the place or go see your new room?"

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-09 18:52 EST
:: Smiling she thought it over for a little while then decided::

Can..we..take a tour and....at the end see my room..please?

:: She did her best to be polite and proper and so far never tried to cause trouble which is a little odd for even the best child gets in trouble by accident..she never even argued about the sweet tasting cookies only taking how things were done without complaint::

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-10 06:26 EST
"You got it. Tour the complex, then your room."

She picked up the dishes and rinsed them off, leaving them in the sink to be washed later. The food was put away before they would go.

Then Sha'uri gently took Tina by the hand and led her around the complex, showing her the administration building, where Briari's office is, where the infermery is, the stables and forge, the temple, the archery and the fighting areas, and the basic grounds ... all but the residential rooms. She was sure there would be questions and she would answer them as best she could.

"There are some rules I'd like you to remember. One is, I don't want you in the forge area without having an adult with you. It can be very dangerous there. In fact, so can the stables with the horses. Always be mindful in the fighting/sparring areas and the archery fields. You dont want to get in the way of any of that if there are people practicing. It can be dangerous. However, you may come to the temple at any time you want. It will always be open and safe. Do you have any questions about what you've seen so far?"

Tina Storms

Date: 2006-08-10 10:31 EST
:: Slowly she nodded as they went to each placce..the forge and figghting grounds didnot interset her but the stables archery and Temple for that she was interested and she started her questions::

When..can I..go to the stables..with the..horses....what is a temple....and how did they make those pointy sticks fly?

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-10 20:36 EST
"Well, the biggest danger in the stables are the horses. They are very wary if people are right behind them and sometimes they kick. They are very strong and could hurt someone really bad. Some can be particularly sensitive when they are in their stahls, so... you have to be careful around the horses. Some even bite. I've gotten nipped a few times, but it is not as bad as their kick. Not all horses are like that. Some are very gentle and kind. I'll have to bring Nightstar, my horse, here someday soon. Maybe I'll take you with me for a field trip... and if Bri is good, maybe he can go, too."

She laughed softly.

"But sometimes it is hard to tell if a horse is going to be nice or not especially if you are not familiar with them. That's why I don't want you around them without an adult. When you get older and used to being around the horses, you'll be okay by yourself then. I'll teach you how to ride them someday."

She started walking towards the residential rooms, talking as they went and just enjoying it all.

"The temple is a place to worship various gods. Not everyone believes in them, and those that do, don't always worship the same ones. It's all very personal on which one seems to suit you. Deciding on one can take time and requires careful thoughtfulness and a bit of soul searching to understand what is truely in your own heart. Temples are different from place to place. Some only allow worship of One god, others allow worship of compatable gods and others yet allow any and all gods. Our temple here, I have set up certain areas of it to allow worship of any non-evil gods while the majority of the temple is dedicated to Corellon Larethion, God of the Elves on Toril... also the god of magic and war. Abeir Toril is a planet far far away from here through the nexus. Anyway, Corellon is whom I serve. I respect other compatable gods, but Corellon is whom I serve as a Priestess. We can study the various gods and religions later on."

She opened the door to the building and they stepped inside, moving through the kitchen to some steps leading up.

"As for how they make the pointy sticks fly... well, if you look at them, you'll see they have feathers. There's something called aerodynamics involved in the design which helps the air flow over the top and underneath to lift it and help it glide through the air after kinetic energy is charged up from the bow string being released."

She stopped herself, realizing she was probably way over the little girl's head.

"I'm sorry."

She chuckled and pulled a rubberband out ofher pocket., stretching it between her fingers.

"Have you ever played with a rubberband? See, it stretches and that builds up energy because it just wants to snap back into place. So, the more you stretch it, the more energy is waiting to be released. If I let go, whatever energy is built up will be released and force the band to snap back the other way. The more I pull it the harder it's going hurt when I let go. It's just like the string on a bow. And since the arrow is on the string when it happens and there is nothing keeping it on the string, then the arrow just keeps going when the string stops, and the arrow flies through the air with the feathers there to help it fly further and with accuracy."

She demonstrated by snapping the rubberband between ehr fingers, flinching with an, "Owe" and a grin. Then she handed Tina the rubberband and paused in the hallway outside of her -Sha'uri's room. She grinned watching Tina play with the rubber band.

"So this is my room. The door down there is to your room but i want to show you this first. follow me this way."

She opened her door and went inside. Her room was big, open and spacious. Warm bold colors filled the room with wine and royal blues. A fireplace was in a living room type area in the middle of the room and a huge queen size canopy bed at the other end with a study area opposite of that, a bookcase lined the walls at that end. At both ends were a set of double doors.

She went to the set to the left down by her bed and opened it up to a short alcove/hall with another set of double doors across the way. To the right was a large window and potted plants before it. to the left was a small door, which was a linen closet. She moved across the hall to the double doors and opened them up to reveal a huge bathroom with another set of double doors on the other side.

She opened these up to another bedroom, not as big as Sha'uri's but at least a good twenty by thirty feet long. There was a small door opposite, which was a closet, and the main doors to the room on the left. There was a small fireplace along the outside wall opposite of the main door and a bay window beside it. The full sized bed also had a canopy. The room was decorated with whites mostly and trimmed with pastel lavender, blues and pinks with violet and roses in the curtains, puppy and kitty feet prints along the walls and a big 'ol fluffy white fake fur rug on the floor and a rocking chair and loveseat to set before the fireplace. A small desk and a some shelves were at the end. It almost was like Sha'uri's room, only slightly smaller.

:: Slowly she looked about the room her mouth hanging open as her wide eyes took everything in....her hands touching the Kitty feet and sliding on one of the posts of the bed..she moved about looking around silently as if it were a dream just waiting to end at any moment....she looked outside the window and then she looked to the bed once more...pillows...she had pillows and a blanket....she stood there frozen for quite some time just afraid to move from this wonderful room::

All she could do was smile and back out of the room quietly, leaving Tina to enjoy her room. She went back to her own room, leaving the doors open in between so Tina could find her easy enough.
