It is late at night when Briarius' aide returns helping the staggering Headmaster walk. She guides him to the Headmaster's house overlooking the campus. As she does, it is clear that the Headmaster is pale as a ghost and non-coherent. Parts of his robes have been dissolved away along with a little of the now exposed skin.

She hadn't been attuned very much to anything since her arival. Normally, she would've known things like people coming and going onto and off of the property or moving around her well before they got around her. However, her senses had been attuned to the coming and goings within Exodii system when the two, headmaster and aide, walked by. It was at this time that she was meditating upon Exodii while she sat under the stars in the middle of the courtyard shaded from view by a bush. The sound of staggering stepps and a soft desperate grunt nearby broke her out of that concentration with a start.

"What? Who's there?!"

She quickly crawled out of her little hidy hole and peeked round to see the frail looking aide trying to help what had at first appeared to be a very drunk headmaster Bri.

"What the.... Hey, do you need some help with the drunk oaf?"

She, of course, laughed and didn't wait for the answer but moved in preparation for the acceptance.

"What's he doing getting himself so..."

The sentence was interrupted and the smile faded flat when she was close enogh and saw the condition of his clothes.

"bare. I mean..."

And then she saw the pale skin and exposed flesh, or lack of where the clothes were missing as if erased.

"By Correllon's might.. What happened? Quickly, speak and tell me everything. Leave nothing out. We're taking him to the temple where I can properly heal him."

She didn't wait for the acceptance of help. It was no longer up for debate as far as she was concerned. Her hand began to glow, as did her eyes with a sapphire flame. She merely touched Briari's arm while he began to float. She held on and moved him at double time march (jog) towards the Temple.

The lacerations were caused by an acidic substance. It caused him no real harm. All of the wounds are simply superficial.

She must have been so quick that she left the aide behind. The poor woman looked a bit exhausted anyway, not to mention that Sha'uri was a bit frantic for a while.

Moving Bri into the temple, she quickly placed him on the alter/table and examined him, lifting his clothes and shifting him gently so that she caught sight of everything. Thankfully, it was far less damage then what she had assumed to begin with. Her hand gently brushed over the wounds while she psionically induced their healing, putting what was left of his clothes back in place.

"But what doesn't make sense is your incoherent blabber."

She wasn't even sure what he was saying. It made no sense, even worse than the local drunk .... worse then a local fool on a drinking binge. They weren't even anything that coiuld be considered words. He didn't smell like alcohol. He hadn't been hit on the head that she could see. It just seemed a bit strange.

Grabbing a tube of smelling salts, she breathed through her mouth while she opened the vial and waived it before his nose, gently patted his cheek to bring him around.

"Bri?.... Come on... come round and talk to me. What have you seen?"

Slowly he came around. He looks confusedly at his surroundings and then relaxes as he realizes where he was at.

"I should really invest in some contingency magicks."

She smiled and laughed softly, though relieved.

"At least you're all right."

Tossing the smelly salts into a small trashcan hidden beneath the table, she turned back to do her business and double check his eyes, blocking the direct light momentarily and letting it shine on them again one at a time and then together to see their reaction. They were fine.

"I can place one of those upon you, if you want. I could have the contingency activate prior to your death and bring you here with a sounding bell in my head. That way I'll know where you are and that you're in dire need of my services. So what prompted you to take an acid bath? or is that part of your normal bathing routine?"

The smile broadened slowly with mirth twinkling in her eyes.

"I'm sorry?"

He quickly looked at himself and saw the remains of the acid wounds.

"I don't know..."

She frowned. He honestly didn't seem to know and that worried her. Subconsciously, she laid a hand upon his arm with a gentle and reassuring squeeze.

"Well, maybe your Aide knows. She brought you home. What's the last thing you do remember?"

She glanced around to see if the aide had finally come in.

I remember the RhyDin City Guard arresting someone. ...and it gets muddled from there.

His aide is standing in the door. She speaks with a melodic voice, almost haunting.

"I went to find him to ask him a question. When I entered the Red Dragon Inn, he was unconcious."

She nodded to the aide. "Thanks for bringing him home."

She turned to Bri with a grin. "Sounds like you were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Maybe you should invest in some body guards. Next time, you might not be so lucky. Someone could've taken a real advantage of you while you were unconscious there. It's lucky that your aide had questions for you."

Patting his arm, she moved over to a cabinet and pulled a dark blue robe from within. She tossed it at Bri.
"Here. Make yourself descent while your in the presence of two ladies... before we take advantage of you."

She laughed.

"I'll get us all something to drink. I think we could all use it. What would you all like? I probably have it."

She moved to the other side of the room and opened a small liquer cabinet from behind a small bar. She pulled out three glasses, a bucket of ice and several samples of various liquer and wines, along with non alcoholic drinks.

The elf shook his head.

"I think I just need to sleep."

He got up and walked to the door.

Blink.

Shrug.

"Okay. I guess it is late. Maybe some other time. G'Nigh Bri."

That almost sounded like her mom. And... It wasn't going to stop her from a nightcap. She poured the creamy liquer over a glass of ice. Shifting her gaze to the aide to see if she wanted anything.

The aide just stood there, unmoving.

That gave her the creeps. Sha'uri downed her glass and put away the liquer. She passes the aid on her way out.

"Help yourself if you like."

Shauri was out and on her way to bed.

The aide remained unmoving.

Sha'uri moved about fifty yards from the temple, then turned around and came back to look inside. The aide was still standing there... unmoving. Her eyes narrowed with suspicion and she gazed at the Aide to sense her life force. Was she alive? A robot? Or some rendition of the undead...?

The moment the thought of undead passes through Sha'uri's mind, the aide moves and after straightening herself, walks to her quarters.

It was not so fast that one attuned to souls couldn't see the truth. She watched the Aide leave ... And muttered to herself as she moved, once again, to go to her quarters.

"So, the lights are on, but the owner isn't really at home."
