It was the summer break at the Ravensheart Academy and while classes were still in session, only the truly academic were in attendance. The Headmaster had been busying himself with preparations of some sort. He had informed Heads of his Faculty and Staff that although reachable, he would prefer that all matters be handled by Mistress Sha'uri in the case of Academics or Mistress Lyndra in the case of day to day operations. He made it quite clear that he was not to be disturbed unless it was a true emergency. Especially while he was gone.

It was late at night when the moonflowers began to glow and all the lights in the various buildings dimmed, except the Headmaster's building. All of the lights were bright and the Headmaster seemed very busy. He began removing all of his magical baubles and trinkets, placing them safely in a small floor vault. He then place his sword in there with his book of magics. He then cast the only spell he had left for the day which disjuncted any of his magical auras and severed all magical ties he had on him. He gathered a very few belongings and prepared for his journey.

Briari wasn't the only one up that late. Lyndra tossed and turned in her bed. She hadn't been able to sleep. She wasn't even tired for some odd reason. Or not so odd. Briari needed the rest, she knew and a change of scenery. She just had an odd feeling about all this. She tried to hide it, but at the meeting when he told them he was leaving she almost felt like she did when Bryce just left ... like it was all her fault. Maybe it was her fault. The only thing keeping her from leaving herself, was the obligations she held here and the others she held so dear to her.

She sighed deeply and looked out over the glow of the moonflowers. He would be leaving soon, she knew... and she, would gladly let him go and pray, just pray, that he would learn how to get back on the proverbial horse and ride again...

"The God's Speed to ye, Briarius. May the Lady watch o're ye and keep ye safe."

She pulled a book from her personal little library growing in her own room, turned on a soft light and began to read, rocking in her chair.

Early the next morning, Briarius cast a wealth of magicks to ward and protect his quarters and the Academy. He put on a heavy cloak over his very non-descript clothing, pulled the hood over his head, grabbed his walking stick and backpack and walked to the portal hidden on the school grounds that would take him to Exodii.
