Several days had gone by and Lyndra had contemplated her situation while performing her daily routines. Other then conversing about her normal chores, Lyndra hadn't said much to anyone except to say she'd picked a last name, Nightbloom.
She had been pondering what it meant to be of Dragon Kind and realized she knew very little about it. So in her spare time, she had been visiting the libraries in the area trying to find information on the subject. Some of the information was helpful, yet not. She didn't know how to *be* that.
Lyndra knew that to understand what *being dragon kind* meant was a long way off even if she did find more information. She had to understand what kind she was. This was a problem for her. Not just for her, but from what Sha'uri was telling her, it wasn't of known value.
"I don't know if my children have enough of the dragon DNA in their bodies to have the ability to change into one. I would've expected Alex to have developed the ability by now, but he has not. I'm not sure if it's because he can't, or won't. I guess the same could be said for Bryce. Maybe it's only possible in the females. The lineage of the Nightbloom's is dotted with stories of dragon contacts and rumors of dragons seducing Nightbloom's, spawning their offspring. That is all my mother ever told me. That my great, great, great grandmother was rumored to have been some kind of dragon and that her great grandma had been one, too. Maybe they were the only ones caught being one and so the story of seduction was used. I don't know what to call our kind, either. None of our DNA match right with other known dragons, though some things are close... almost mimicked even."
Not even the Mistress understood fully what kind she was. They were the only source of what they were and as such, Lyndra didn't know how to become that part of her that was in her.... to BE a dragon.
She sat at the table on the patio that overlooked the gardens. Afternoon tea was set before her and she had hoped for someone to join her. A note had been left in his mailbox, though she wondered if he were around to get it. Time would tell. For now she sipped her tea and read up on the current book in hand... *From Platinum to Blue: Book of Dragons*
