Topic: Where to now?

Morning came and she felt rested. Sha'uri had memorized her spells but didn't take time to say her prayers, not that they'd be heard very well anyway. She was busy packing up her things. She'd started in the temple and worked her way through the forge, then on to the infermary where she left a few healing potions, for whatever little good they would do.

Casting a tenser's disc, her luggage began to float and followed her out the door and towards the administration area. Well, she couldn't just leave without trying to say goodbye, right? She couldn't stay without fighting a battle she knew she couldn't win. So leaving was the only option left. After all, what idiot would stay in a place where they were being cut off from their god? She only hoped she could persuade Bri to go, too. Sadly, she already predicted the outcome of that one.

So on to the administration area she went, stopping outside the office to inquire of the Aide about where to find him.

"Where can I find the Headmaster?"

Briarius

The aide looked at Sha'uri.

"He is off taking care of a few errands. Where do you think you're going?"

The antechamber grew cold and darker. It seemed that the room itself was alive and morphed all the doors away.

"You can't leave...we have spent so long to find you..."

Shauri

She'd had a feeling this was going to happen, which was precisely why she was dressed for battle...which wasn't so unusual for her anyway. She was always usually ready for a fight.

The items upon the floating disc vanished from the realm as the silent and quikened spell was cast. The Woodshadow medallion, beneath her clothes began to take effect and her form was bathed with protections of evil and negative energies, among protections of all elements. The cold was harmless to her.

While she was limited with power granted from Corellon, she still had herself, and remnants from others. She would cling to Jayden's words. As for hers, they were dripping with sarcasm as she spoke.

"Convienient. Then he must be in RhyDin or at least out of this little pocket of hell. All the better. Keeps him out of harms way. So, you've been looking for me because....? You wish to tame me? Tease me? Torture me? Turn me evil or Test me in some manner? Let me guess.. it's a slow wednesday..."

The highly magical swords where drawn swiftly and brought round to the ready in one fluid motion of her wrists. Fighting was probably her greatest achievement.... easily of Epic proportions, as were other talents. Jack of many trades didn't always mean incompetent or non expert, it just meant exceptionally versatile. Sha'uri had earned every bit of her expertise in most aspects of her Jack of many things status.

"It's a good day to die for one of us... or at least be beaten. Let's just get this over with. I'm tired of your games. Just get to the point. You've found me. What do you want with me, Bri and Castle Ravensheart?"

Briarius

"You were always terribly slow..."
The aide's voice seemed demonic. It was almost as if her voice was coupled with another. The other voice seemed familiar. It was difficult to place.
"Ah, D' Shara, quick to anger, but slow to think. Always ready to rise to a cause, but never ready to think about what's really happening around you. Yes, you know me. Except then I took a different form. I also see that you've gone through some changes as well. No matter. Yes, yes I know. You are not truly a woman I met all those years ago. But what I am looking for is still in you. For years, I engineered this revenge plot against him. I was always missing one piece... your soul! Now that I found it you can't get away so easily."
The aide's form changes slightly. The illusion of life passes away. She is obviously a corpse that has been long dead. What was once rich full red hair now hangs limply in strands around her head. Her pale skin marked with claw marks. The marks are obviously demonic in nature. It looks as if her form was ravaged by a demon, and it left to die. It is out of this corpse that a ghostly figure steps. In one horrifying moment, all becomes very very clear. The ghostly form is none other than Erique. The once high priest seems different now... almost divine.
"That's right. It's me. I created all of this! I assemble everything in his life that ever held meaning to him.... except you. I searched high and low for his former wife's soul. Little did I know that she passed it to her daughter. Now you stand to ruin everything I've created everything meant to destroy him! I will not allow that! You are in a domain I created! I am God here. I decide who lives and who dies. Come with me dear and you'll get all the revenge on him you ever wanted. We can destroy him forever."
The ghostly form stands and waits for an answer

D'Shara? Had he really just called her that? She watched the insanity unfold before her as Erique peeled the shell of the Aide from him and dropped it to the floor. That part was no surprise to her. She'd seen what the Aide was several days ago ... she knew then that the lights were on but nobody was home in there... that it was a souless and controlled corpse.

However, the accusation of holding part of her mother's soul was something she hadn't anticipated in any way. Of course, as she pondered this a moment, she realized that her memories, mixed with her mother's power through the medallion, could be confused as part of D'Shara's soul. Sharalis' soul was spread among many things throughout the system of Secak ... she hoped Briari was wearing the medallion she gave him, especially if he came back.

Just where was he? She began to use the medallion, using the shadow weave connected to it as a means to sense if Bri wore the medallion and where he was at if he did. She knew it would take a few moments to gain those answers. She needed to extend the conversation.

As for Erique, she hadn't expected his presence either, but it all began to make sense. She thought he'd been destroyed. The memories were vague, but she remembered something about his destruction and ... perhaps some link to the castle itself. It was too vague to recall on such a short whim and it was possible she was mixing the memory with others. There wasn't enough time now to analyze them.

She pulled her line of thoughts back to the subject at hand... Erique, his presence and his apparent godly status. Perhaps he was, or maybe not. If not, she stood a good chance of defeating him. A devine presence was sensed but wether or not it was Erique she was not so convinced it was him. If it was him, then maybe she could get lucky. Either way, she wasn't giving in just yet.

"God? Any magi worth their weight can hollow out a pocket of existence for themselves ... or, with the right research, a small domain as this. I suppose if a priest prayed hard enough and held a relationship close enough with their god, they could develop the same or similar ability, rare as that would be. However, no one does it alone.... Not even the Gods become gods all by themselves."

Sha'uri knew this as truth for she walked the path with Corellon as her mother had with her father.

"There's a hierarchy to everything, Erique, even among the Gods. I know this, for my own father holds sway over several of them throughout the multiverse. So before I even answer your question....."

Her eyes flared with sapphire flames flickering dangerously within her irises.

"To whom do you really serve? Who granted you the knowledge of and power to do such things? Or are you merely insane with revenge... "

She was pushing him for real proof, obviously... not impressed by this just yet.

"Perhaps Briarius did not tell you of Kadorasil being destroyed? I helped in it's destruction. The entire dimension was oblitterated. It's simply void right now...well...there is one other wisp of divinity. My god plotted the destruction and kept me outside the dimension. Once it was underway, He transferred all of his powers to me so I could keep them safe as he would be destroyed as well. The problem with Gods is that they rely on worshippers. I simply rejected him as he was destroyed and now hold all of the divinty left in that dimension...save for Briarius' God. That blasted God of Magic still haunts there. The good thing is that with only Briarius to worship, He is too weak to do anything. If I destroy briarius, I have free reign to rebuild Kadorasil in my own image. There is room for another..."

Of all the times to think of this, to have a moment of humor, it just had to be now.

"My, my, my... are you proposing?"

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-29 19:56 EST
The ghostly form moves a bit closer. He seems to get the joke, but seems to still be serious.

"If it is your wish, then yes. If it is not, then gods of a pantheon need not be married."

Shauri

Date: 2006-07-30 08:55 EST
Her laugh was cold and ended with her lips curled back in a sneer.

"You must take me for some desperate bar wench... or a fool if you think I'd walk down that path again. I don't even know you. And I have no interest nor design on Kadorasil. My hands are quite full with what has been placed in my charge. However, I will not allow you to have sway over me, nor will I stand by and let you destroy Bri. You're a fool if you think you can sustain that power without anyone to worship or revere you."

Indeed, she would remember Jayden's words. A pillar of fiery Holy energy was called forth, striking down where Erique stood. The power wasn't from outside of this pocket domain, but from within .... within her.

Sha'uri closed the distance between them and struck once, twice and thrice at Erique with the twin electrical swords of wounding... swords that not only sharp enough to sever limbs but they also unleashed lighting and caused wounds that wouldn't heal except by magic. They also dealt double damage to Evil beings. Each were also imbued and unleashed fire and ice respectively ... right fire, left ice. Her movements were fluid and swift, spinning round as she ended her attack and brought her stance to the ready in defense.

The fight was on...

Briarius

As Sha'uri caught her breath, she looked at Erique and he looked largely unharmed.

"Let's make this more interesting."

Just then the doors opened and all of the staff appeared in the room. The anguish was clear on their faces. It looked as if they wanted to die, but were being held in this form. Alec and Larissia looked at their half-sister pleadingly. They all wanted to be set free of the bondage they were placed in.

"I will manifest myself in one of these poor wretched corpses...strike the right one and you will harm only me. Strike the wrong one and you damage that sould for all eternity."

With that, he disappeared.

Shauri

Oh the omnipotent one..... would still have a soul. She could sense souls and that wasn't anything he could block. So she struck at Erique's soul.

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-30 17:51 EST
She would see that his soul was divided amongst the "servants". As she struck the aide, she cried out in pain. The soul of Harmoni Woodstalker was broken from her spell that Erique placed upon her and rose from the corpse. She spoke to Sha'uri.

"You choose to defile my corpse and commit sacralige upon my form?! For this, you will feel the weight of nature upon you!"

Vines begin to break through the stone floor and tangle around Sha'uri's feet. There is nothing she can do to escape them short of destroying the misguided ghost.

Shauri

Date: 2006-07-30 18:23 EST
She fought back the mist of tears, clenching her jaw shut tight. It was obvious now, It wasn't Bri she would eat and destroy as was in her dreams for the past few nights, it was this presentation of his past and Erique was the heart of it. There was no releasing their souls of his influence until Erique was destroyed as he was now. She knew she had to do it. She knew it could very well destroy them even though she'd try to protect the other souls..... destroying Erique had to be done.

She struggled to break the bonds, but the vines were too strong. She felt the power surge in her, growing stronger. She hadn't felt power rise in her like this since the uncreation of Secak as a seperate realm and molded back into a solar system as it had once been long ago. She'd saved many of the souls therein... she, her mother, her father and Rick. And then she knew why. She knew it had been their love for each other and for the people there that had saved Secak from total destruction. She felt that love again, and made her own power grow.

Finally, she focused to separate the power, pushing the destructive nature of it on Erique's soul and kept the other's safe with the rest. She knew it would take most of her existence to do this by herself, but she was willing to sacrifice. As Jayden had given her hope in herself, her power grew more and was unleashed on Erique in an explosive burst of power that caused her form to rise above the rest. Then everything went blank for her...........

A wave of force was unleashed as the pseudo-diety was overcome. His cries of anguish ripped through the pocket dimension and the souls that Sha'uri tried to protect were ripped from her. There was no way that any of them would come out alive.

That was, until a soothing blue light washed over Sha'uri.

"Open your eyes young one. You are safe."

As she opened her eyes, she saw her savior. It was the last remaining True God of Kadorasil. Standing with him was a ghost that looked like Briarius as a human knight. The ghost was holding a small black box and was astride a ghostly steed.

"Your act allowed me to enter this pocket and stop Erique in his last desperate act. I was able to save you and these innocent souls from destruction. I was unable to save this."

The ghost of Briarius holds up the box and shows the rather large crack in it that seemed to be leaking some substance out in a trickle. The substance seemed to be giving form to the ghost.

"That box held all of my champion's memories and power. Erique locked them in there so that Briarius would never stop him. I can never give them back to him. I will do one thing though. I will give Briarius his new life. I release him from the bonds of being my champion and will grant him the ability to live his life as he wishes. I will restore the world of this pocket dimension to RhyDin and give it appropriate form. I will also grant the souls who are from Kadorasil the ability to be reborn as real people versions of the puppets Erique created. Unfortunately, after that is done, I must complete what Erique started. I must close Kadorasil off to all. I will grant you one request Mistress Sha'uri before I go."

Shauri

She heard the voice as if from a distance. At first, it seemed like her father's own voice, or perhaps it was Corellon. She only knew she was free of pain, light as a feather and soothed into a sense of euphoria. When she opened her eyes slowly, she saw who it was and was in awe.

"Eversmart..."

Wether they were standing on solid ground or floating, it was hard to say. The pocket dimension seemed misty and void. Fog was so thick, she couldn't see her feet, but could see Eversmart and someone that looked like Briari.

"Seems we have saved each other, Eversmart. I only wish I could've done more. Bri will have lost much in all of this, especially the homelands he was born in. However, I've noticed Briarius looks human. Bri was not born this way. I would ask that he be made whole again, the half elf he was naturally meant to be.... magik weilding knight in shining armor and all." she smiled.

"Magic was something he loved. I would not wish to see that totally taken from him. I don't suppose it would be too much to ask that Castle Ravensheart be restored as well? If memory serves, there was a distinct connection between the castle and Bri.... such that in order to restore one, both would need restored?"

She hoped she was right and that this could be restored to the headmaster.

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-30 22:03 EST
"I am afraid I cannot do all that you ask. Erique used tricks I cannot undo. I can restore the part of his soul that he gave to the castle to make it sentient. As far as magick goes, it chose him before I did. It will never leave him. Erique used trickery to deny Briarius of that gift and now with Erique gone, Briarius will relearn whatever magicks he can. Being a elf will help him as well as the Elves of Kadorasil are essentially immortal. His form will once again reflect a younger age...in time. His destiny is now his own."

Shauri

Date: 2006-07-31 06:13 EST
She smiled aceptance, understanding the limitations.

"Then there is nothing more that I can ask for. I will do what I can to help him relearn his magics ... and to make for himself a new home. Part of me is and has been bound to him in a manner that I know now will not break. He is, after all, family. Thank you, Eversmart. I wish you well in your endeavors."

Sapphire hues sparkled as she stepped closer and hugged the Elder God. Then she stepped back and gazed around, waiting on Eversmart to fulfill his promise.

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-31 07:44 EST
The True God of Kadorasil, simply nodded and he and the Human Briarius was gone. The grounds of the Ravensheart school reappeared around them. The major difference was that the 'tense' feeling that surrounded the grounds was gone. It was a serene place of learning, as it should be. Sha'uri was standing in the Administration building with the aide. The aide, however, looked different. She was obviously the same woman, but her elven features were very pronounced though. She looked at Sha'uri and spoke.
"Thank you...he held my soul for many ages. I must speak quickly as I am certain that my memories to this will fade. I was taken away from Briarius once, by the influence of evil, but I will not be again. I love him and hope..."
She trails off, her eyes glassing over and then clear.
"Mistress Sha'uri? What is going on? Where am I?"

It is at that time, the Headmaster passes through the gates of the school. Something made him stop and think. He looked around his school and was never happier in recent memory. In fact, it seemed as if many of his troubles just went away. The emptiness in his heart from being seperated from his god seemed to have been filled with something. He looked around and breathed deeply. He finally felt at peace...and at home.

Shauri

Date: 2006-07-31 15:22 EST
Sapphire hues gazed at the Aide, noting the differences Eversmart had made. As the Aide spoke, Sha'uri's eyes misted with tears. It wasn't until that moment that she knew the Aide had been someone in Bri's life before her mother was. She had been the one burried by the well, the grave she'd seen in Bri's thoughts the day she walked in on him after finding the secret passage. She knew now just how he'd felt about her at one time.

Was it possible they'd fall in love again? The slight pang of jealosy felt so very odd to her. Perhaps she should've asked Eversmart to purge her own memories... or rather her mother's. However, she knew she couldn't do that. Then she wouldn't be who she was now and all those lessons learned would be for nothing. Besides, she'd just met some new friends and it would be a shame to forget them, especially Jayden. So....Whatever happened from here on out would be whatever it was meant to be.

Shaking off her reverie, she adopted the concerned visage as the Aide obviously was adjusting to Eversmart's manipulations. She knew she should try and put the woman at ease.

"Oh wow, no, it's okay. It's just one of those Fluxes from the nexus. I read about them in the paper. They are the worst further in town, like around the Inn and Great Hall... er... and the back alley behind there. It's probably a good thing we aren't there now. Here... sit down. Let me get you some tea."

She helped the Aide sit and used magic to cause a freshly brewed pot of tea to appear. It was Chamomile tea with rosehips and light mint flair. She poured a cup and added some honey, handing the cup to her.

"Chamomile to soothe, rosehips for health and a touch of mint to refresh you and ease away tension headaches. Here, drink this and relax for a while. You'll be fine. Just feel lucky you weren't at the bar. Last time I was hit by one, I was there washing up a few dishes. The next thing I knew, about an hour, almost two, passed and I was out back in the alley by the kitchen door. I've never had such a rotten headache before. The fluxes get pretty wierd. Anyway, just sit and relax for a little while. You'll feel better then. Don't worry about Bri, I'll head him off at the pass to give you some more time. You just take some time for you right now."

She smiled warmly and left the aide with the cup of tea. She found Bri standing near the gates, paused there and just glancing around with this contented look. He seemed so very much at peace. Yet she had to wonder just what he remembered and what changes in him there would be.. exactly. Had he been reverted back to his half elven self?

The front door was opened and out she dashed towards him. She just had to see. She held an expectant look, though it was also a smile. She would have to tread lightly until she figured out what he knew, remembered and felt. It felt like walking on new ground.

"Hi! Now, you look like a guy with... well,... not a damn thing on your mind to worry you. So what's got you smiling?"

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-31 19:07 EST
"I know not...it just seemed as if my worries seemed so trivial."

He looks back at her with his now distinct elven features.

"Perhaps I worry too much..."

Shauri

Date: 2006-07-31 20:42 EST
She moved over to him and slippeed her arm with his, as if to coax him into escorting her the rest of the way to ....well, where ever he was going to go.

"Yes, you do sometimes. YOu should learn to live life as the wood elves of Toril sometimes and quite often do.... Sometimes you just have to frolick through the woods for the sake of fun. When was the last time you went to a solstice event? Or a moon ceremony upon the full or crescent nights? When was the last time you went into a bar, just so you could sit and talk with strangers, and enjoy a brew or spar? You need to get out more often."

She nodded with determination.

"Tell you what... when you are ready, you let me know and I'd be glad to go with you. Or perhaps, your Aide... what's her name?"

Briarius

Date: 2006-07-31 21:06 EST
"Mistress..."

He looks perplexed.

"...I don't think I ever asked her name. Perhaps I should rectify that."

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-01 07:42 EST
Blink. Was he serious?

"Eh.. yeah, you should. Do you even know the names of the other servants? ....Oh, no.. nevermind. I can see you don't. Briarius Ravensheart, you should tarred and feathered." she chuckled, only teasing but she did find it odd he didn't know.

"Perhaps you should get to know some people, especially your staff. We need to hire more teachers and try to look for students. You've been cooped up lately and you should get out and... well... just ... frolic!"

Her free hand waved in the air with an exaggerated motion to accentuate the word.

"By the way, you don't have to be so formal with me. Mistress seems to be so... cold. Please, call me by my given name. You have every right to, after all we are more like family I think.... and I would preferre it unless you really object. You do remember my name, don't you?"

She gave him a sidelong glance, a glance D'Shara would've given in a situation like this. It was a glance that clearly indicated that he had better know her name and not be playing with her or else.... she'd probably tar and feather him. Grin.

Briarius

Date: 2006-08-06 11:11 EST
He chuckled a bit and pretended to think

Shauri

Date: 2006-08-06 16:52 EST
Okay, so she didn't have the heart to really tar and feather him. He'd called her bluff on that. However ... dun dun dun...

"That's it!"

She did tackle him and, yes... she knew exactly where to tickle him.So she did.
