Once they got through the picketers and inside the Amphitheater, Lena stood staring openly around them. The crowds were one thing she hadn't expected, but it was more the sheer festival air of it that had her gawking.

Stadium workers were ushering people through the registration lines for the vaccinations first, and a perky blonde in an RHL Cares Volunteer t-shirt bounced toward them and shrieked excitement when she recognized Jon.

"Omigawd, omigawd, omiGAWD! I can't believe it's you! I'm a huge fan. Oh! Can I touch you?" She didn't wait for permission before reaching out to take Jon's arm, drawing him away from Lena and toward one of the vaccination lines. "Right this way and we'll get you taken care of. Oh, this is SO exciting!"

Behind them, Helena mimicked a squeal, throwing her hands up in jazz fingers and laughing as she followed along.

Jonathan Granger

Even after a few years in the limelight, Jon had never really gotten used to crowds. They always made him feel a little claustrophobic and seeing all the people in the Amphitheater made him feel a little nervous. It was one aspect of being a celebrity that still made him uncomfortable.

He knew how to play his part, however, and knew that being seen was not only good P.R., but a way to give something back to the community, to promote the vaccine, and maybe save a few lives.

Still, he couldn't help but toss his sister a look that said, "Help me," as the blonde dragged him away. Before long, a small crowd had gathered and there were photographers snapping pictures of him as he rolled up his sleeve to get his vaccine.

"Jon! What about the rumors that you're using again?" one of the reporters shouted, and Jon cringed, tossing an apologetic look at his sister.

"Totally unfounded," he replied shortly. "I'm not here to discuss my personal affairs, but to encourage people to get vaccinated. The life you save may be your own."

"Will you stop your grumbling and get in there?" 'Taya was laughing at the combined complaints of her fiance, cast, crew, and staff as she herded them through and into the stadium. "We work in a public arena, I'm not risking losing any of you to this Bingy-bongy Bendy Flu, or whatever it's called. So shift your asses and get stuck."

She'd caught sight of Jon Granger and his sister in one of the lines, throwing them both a wave and a grin as she herself was sorted into another, uncovering an arm in preparation for the jab.

The festival atmosphere was impossible to ignore, bringing a wide, happy smile to her face. "Y'know what this place needs?" she asked her still mutinous companions. "Music!"

And just like that, she started to sing, utterly unphased by the unusual arena. And actors being actors, they joined in.

She hated injections. She also hadn't planned to stay in RhyDin this long, and if she was going to be here during an epidemic ... better to be safe.

"Which arm, miss?" the nurse asked, taking her consent form and pointing her to the next spot in line.

"Left." She rolled up her sleeve and crunched her eyes shut, waiting for it.

The things she did for family.
