The WestEnd Wargs lost a tough battle to the Marketplace Monocerus in Wednesdays? game. The high number of goals and unique style of play are believe to be attributed to the leagues new ?recruitment? of players form insideof Rhy Din and the special nature of those who choose to live here.

Vince Nuccistarted off the evening by scoring at 1:35 in the opening period for The Wargs , assisted by Quinn Benoit and an amazingly resiliant Mike Maier. Xenia came back to score for the Monocerus, assisted by Ahni. The Wargs answered that with two more goals in the first, one by Quinn Benoit, with assists by Marcus Gustafsson and Deacon Wrath, then Benoit again, with assists by Wrath and Maier. But Marketplace closed the gap with a goal by Ahni assisted by Duci and Vincent Smith.

Benoit scored her third for the night in less than a minute at the start of the second period. It was a shorthanded goal assisted by Nucci and Wrath. Ahni got the next point for the Monocerus on a powerplay assisted by Xenia. WestEnd came back with a goal by Tibor Varga, assisted by Kirill Doronin and Will Laporte, and another by Maier, assisted by Benoit and Nucci. Marketplace tied up the period with the next three, on by Ahne, assisted by Addison Pelkey and Xenia, the next two by Duci, assisted by Theadore, and Patrick Deraspe and Ahni.

The Monocerus managed to pull through with the game winning goal at 18:55 in the third by Duci, assisted by Beaulne and Xenia.

Corlanthis ?Sparkle Horse? Wystansayr was in goal for the Monocerus, stopping 38 of 44 shots. His unique style of goal tending reminded most in attendance of a flopping fish (Perhaps we should start calling him Sparkle Fish?), however it appears to have worked for him and the Marketplace team. Rick Scarsella saved 38 out of 45 shots for the Wargs.

The Rhy Din Hockey League is in it?s first ?Official? season, as players are now being ?recruited? from those who live in and around the city, citizens are asked to try out for and play for the teams.

Next up for our Ice Warriors? The Stars End Spacers play the Rhy Din Dragons at the newly sponsored Silver Mark Arena on Thursday. The game is at 6pm.

If your character did not play in the game please let me know and I'll remove him/her. Feel free to add your players game notes here. THanks to all the players who are participating.

Russel Archer scored the game winning goal 1:13 into overtime to lift the Stars End Spacers over the Rhy Din Dragons, 3-2, in overtime..

Both teams failed to score in the opening 20 minutes of play, as Rhy Din net minder Peter Skoggard turned away all 15 Spacer tries. Stars End, though, had their chances on the man advantage with two opportunities, Skoggard stopped both tries in spectacular fashion though, reinforcing the idea that the Spacers can?t convert on a power play.

The second period was a different story with both clubs trading power play goals. The Dragons got on the board first, as Kate registered the first goal of the night for The Dragons at the 16:48 mark. Kate buried a rebound in front, just 20 seconds into their first power play to give the Dragons the 1-0 lead.

There was some controversy over the Spacer?s first goal though when referee Eric Ernst questioned it. Kate was given a penalty for hooking with only 1:11 left in the second and Spacers defenseman David Inman shot a quick wristshot past Skoggard. The puck hit the far post, and at first appeared to not go into the net after some commotion and jockeying in front of the nte. There was no initial signal from Ernst and the goal light did not go off, but Ernst later reviewed the play and called it a goal.

In the final period, Kate scored her second of the night for the Dragons with an assist by the ever interesting Ehzoterek. Russel Archer also netted his second of the night, assisted by ?Silent but Deadly? London, their goals took the game into the OT.

Spacers net minder Kevin Druce got the win, stopping 18 shots, while Skoggard is charged with the loss despite putting aside an impressinve28 pucks.

The two teams meet again on Friday night at the wildly popular Silver Mark Arena, the New Haven Nians will also be taking on the Dockside Dijnni at the Stars End Aerodome, both games will be at 6pm.

The Dockside Djinni defenseman Brian Marks scored twice and goal tender Josselin St. Pierre stopped 27 of 29 shots as the Djinni defeated the WestEnd Wargs in spectacular fasion, 4-2 at the Stars End Aerodome.

The Djinni started off the scoring in the first period as Marks tipped an Eurus Vulturnus shot past Warg goalie Richard Scarsella. Zephyr Favonius rocked the girl power with the second assist. Dockside extended their lead in the second period as Eurus Vulturnus lit the lamp off feeds from Zephyr Favonius and Ryan Pearson. Harry Mahesh made it 3-0 with his first goal as a Djinni, with assists going to Nikita Poliakov and Adam McAllister. WestEnd spoiled the shutout in the third period as Quinn ?Hat Trick? Benoit scored, but Marks netted his second of the game off a pass from Alex Lacombe. Docksides's Jeffrey Armando closed scoring. Kyle Roberts and Zephyr Favonius dropped the gloves to provide what was for many in the arena their first real taste of fighting within the league. This being Rhy Din, the screaming crowd loved it and play had to be halted for close to 20 minutes after a rather large troll broke one of the sheets of plexi glass that surrounds the ice sheet with one of the chairs. How he was able to pull up the bolted chair is still under investigation. The incident did however showcase the advances in Arena maintenance that have been built into the Aerodome. The sight of robots cleaning the glass off the ice and the accompanying robotic system in the ceiling of the Arena that installed the new glass was enough to mesmerize some of the fans that had come from less technical areas of Rhy Din.

The win tonight sets up an exciting contest tomorrow night. The Djinni and fan favorite Marketplace Monocerous will play with first place on the line at 6 PM at the Stars End Aerodome.

Strong offensive efforts help the Spacers string together their second win in as many nights against the Dragons Friday night in Rhy Din against the Dragons in Rhy Din Hockey League Action.

There was a delay of over an hour at the arena as staff tried to convince a rather large group of gnomes that the upcoming ?Gnome Tara? night that?s been planned wasn?t going to involve the throwing of actual gnomes. The little buggers had camped out in front of all the entrances and exits of the arena (including the player entrance) and were refusing to let anyone in or out until their demands were heard. The private security company employed by the arena were finally able to break up the so called ?Sit in? by firing teargas into the group of sitting gnomes. Once the gas cleared they were no where to be seen. Security has however been stepped up in case of any future attempts to disrupt games or events there.

The first period saw a frenzy of action as the Spacers's tossed a total sixteen shots at Dragons' netminder Peter Skoggard. Skoggard turned away all but one as Russell ?Shot Through The Heart? Archer put the Spacers's on the board at 17:28 with assists from Angelo Serse and ?Silent but Deadly? London. The Spacerss' defense stood strong and kept the puck away from the Dragons for much of the first frame, only allowing nine shots on goal.

The second 20 minutes included much more action. A total of six penalties were assessed in comparison to none in the first period. As a result, Rhy Din tied the match 1-1 with a goal from Ehzoterek on the powerplay at 17:02. Soon after, the Dragons were on the man-advantage again when Archer broke up a pass and skate down to add an unassisted short-handed goal for the Spacers giving his team the lead again, 2-1.

Spacers' Captain, K.C. Timmons, added another tally for Stars End with a powerplay goal at 12:22 in the final period with the help of Archer and London. This goal would prove to be the final of the game leaving the score 3-1 in favor of the Spacers.

Although the Dragons' netminder Skoggard fought off nearly 50 Spacer tries, he is given the loss. Kevin Druce rejected 24 shots for the Spacers and picks up yet another win.

Next up for the Rhy Din Dragons is a game against the Dockside Djinni on Saturday at the Silver Mark Arena, game time is of course 6pm, Barring any delays.

The Stars End Spacers are off for almost a week and don?t play again until they meet the Djinni themselves at the Stars End Aerodome on the 15th.

Saturday night at the Stars End Aerodome was different from most. The day was busy as a push to involve Rhy DIn children in the newly started Rhy Din Rugrats Youth League. Players from all of the RHL teams were on hand to skate, talk to, and meet the kids. The evening brought a rivalry match between the Dockside Djinni and rival Marketplace Monocerous. The fans who stayed for the nightcap left happy as the Djinni rode two Eurus Vulturnus goals and solid defense late to a 5-3 victory and joined Marketplace atop the Rhy Din Hockey League standings.

The game started with a ceremonial puck drop by Battle Mech Pilot Jonas Funderton. Mr. Funderton you all might remember was injured in the great Stew Battle at the Red Dragon Inn some 15 years ago where he lost an eye and part of his small toe on his left foot. Ever since then he?s been a local hero so it was an honor to have him there.

The Monocerous weren't giving up first place without a fight, as Xenia cracked opened scoring. The Djinni answered as Zephyr ?Girl POWAR? Favonius wrangled a rebound in front, with Eurus Vulturnus and Michael Byrd getting the assists. Play became chippy as both teams, fighting for that first place slot, successfully skated off penalties in the first. Vulturnus opened second period scoring as Favonius and Alex Goupil got the assists.. ?Girl POWAR? scored her second goal in as many games off a Nikita Poliakov feed. Duci cut the lead to one on the power play but Vulturnus responded before the second period ended, with Goupil drawing the lone assist. The third period saw tense action, with Zephyr ?Girl POWAR? Favonious showing what her nick name means by dropping the gloves with fellow Female Warrior Xenia. Favonius tallied again on the power play but the Djinni were able to kill a Tom Ranae hooking minor that left three minutes between them and first. Monocerus goalie Corlanthis ?Sparklefish? Wystansayr stayed in net until the last minute, but Zephyr Favonius fed Goupil for the empty netter, assuring victory. Josselin St. Pierre stopped 30 of 33 Monocerous' shots for the win, while ?Sparklefish? stopped 32 of 36 shots in a losing effort.

The two teams will yet again meet up on Sunday. This game is a must win for the Monocerous if they want to keep first place in the league. Gametime is at 6pm at the Silver Mark Arena.

The Dockside Djinni lost 5-2 to the Marketplace Monocerous today before yet another sold out crowd at The Silver Mark Arena. The Monocerous AKA The Sparklehorses shut down the Djinni offense, particularly the power play, to force a weekend split and retain sole possession of first place in the Rhy Din Hockey League.

Following his team's 5-3 loss Saturday night at the Stars End Aerodome, coach Angelo Sanseverino guaranteed his team would win Sunday evening. The Sparklehorses converted chances in the first period as Duci and Ahni tallied. After fighting Zephyr Favonius in the first, Sparklehorse scoring dynamo Ahni scored a short-handed goal in the second. Ahni scored again to make it 4-0 Monocerous after two periods. Vincent Smith lit the lamp in the third period for the Oh So Sparkly Monocerous. The Djinni finally solved the puzzle of Monocerous goalie Cor ?SparkleFish? Wystansayr as Boreas Aquilon scored his first goal with the team with assists going to Eurus Vulturnus and Austeria ?Erie? Notus . Notus closed the scoring off feeds from Favonious and Vulturnus. Sparklefish stopped 38 of 40 shots and the defense duo of Vincent Smith and Theodore played strong in front of him, stopping the league's top power play on all seven occasions. Rich Sillery made 30 of 35 saves but suffered his third loss to the Monocerous this season. The win puts Marketplace back in front of the Djinni by two points.

There were no reports of any unusual activity within the Silver Mark Arena tonight so there are still questions as to what happened at the Dragons/Wargs game last night.

Marketplace Monocerous forward Duci recorded a hat trickMonocerous?s defeat the WestEnd Wargs in front of a loud crowd at the Silver Mark Arena. The Monocerous won their second game in a row and now sit atop of the RHL standings over the Dockside Djinni.

The Monocerous opened scoring in the first period as Ducir flipped a backhand top corner over Warg goalie Anthony Luckow. Cian Granger of the Wargs tied the game to one a piece just over a minute later. Xenia extended her point streak with an assist on Ahni goal to put the Monocerous up 2-1 in the middle of the first. WestEnd equalized the game on a goal by Cian Granger. Kyle Lagace made it 3-2 with a late first period goal, with an assist going to Ahni. Marketplace scored three unanswered goals in the second period to make the score 6-2 after 2 periods of play. Xenia scored two goals, Duci scored her second of the game and Ahni picked up an assist on each of the goals in the second. Duci completed the hat trick in the third period giving her five points in the evening; assists went to Theodore and Vincent Smith. Xenia scored the eight and final goal of the evening on the powerplay, assists went to Joshua Desmarais and Smith

The game was riddled with penalties and fights, 19 penalties with over 70 minutes of play lost by players. One of the biggest scrums happened in the third period when frustration over how the game was going for the Wargs was obvious. Ani apparently hooked Warg player Wil LaPorte, who then retaliated by trying to beat the snot out of her, Theodore and Duci lept into the melee that lasted well over 15 minutes. At the end of it Duci had proven her ability to hold her own in a fight by not only winning but gaining the most penalty minutes (2minutes for instigating, 5 minutes for fighting, and 10 more minutes for fighting, earning a game misconduct in the process) However neither team was able to capitalize on the numerious powerplay opportunities, the Wargs were 0 for 7 and the Monocerous?s were 0 for 3 during the game. It looks like these two teams might be the most interesting to watch as they appear to want to kill each other.

What?s up next for our intrepid RHL? The Dockside Djinni take on the RhyDIn Dragons at the Silver Mark Arena on Friday, Jan 14th, the puck will drop at 6pm.

The magic of the Dragons was apparently working for Rhy Din last night.

The score after 39 minutes and 35 seconds of play was Djinni - 5, Dragons - 1. Led by star of the game Princess Trouble Kate, 22 minutes and 53 seconds later the Dragons were celebrating a 6-5 overtime win on Kate?s penalty shot goal!

If the Djinni never knew what hit them, their star goalie Jossellin St.Pierre certainly didn?t know what hit him. He was knocked out on Rhy Din?s second goal of the night, marking a stunning reversal in a contest that turned out to be the Dragons biggest win of the year.

The first period began with a wakeup call for Rhy Din. It came 30 seconds into the game when the Djinni scored on their first shot of the game with Boreas Aquilon quickly finding the upper right-hand corner of the net over Peter Skogaard. Despite the early pressure from Dockside, the Dragons continued to battle with Kate racing the puck in from the blue line, putting a shot on goal, setting up Mason, at 11:41, to score the tying goal on the rebound. Up to this point the game had been penalty free. At 6:43 Ehzoterik was whistled off for roughing setting up a power play opportunity for the Djinni, who quickly capitalized when Zephyr Favonius put Dockside ahead banging in a rebound shortly later. Two more Rhy Din penalties (Faustino for fighting and Mason for slashing) gave the Djinni a 5-on-3 advantage. 31 seconds later Austeria Notus flipped in an easy goal off a rebound putting the Dragons in a 3-1 hole. At this point Dragon coach Chris Firrolo decided to give his starting goalie the rest of the night off in favor of Nick Neidert.

The battle continued into the second period, but Dragon hopes deflated a bit at 7:45 when Djinni Zephyr Favonius beat Niedert again on a Eurus Vulturnus pass from behind the net, lifting Dockside to a 4-1 lead. With 4:41 left in the period the hometown faithful were silenced when Boreas Aquilon netted a slap shot off Niedert?s glove for a 5-1 deficit. But the Dragons kept coming, and coming and coming and with 25.2 second period seconds left the Dragons and Faustino lit the goal light closing the scoring gap to 2-5. On the scoring play Djinni goalie St. Pierre hit the ice hard and ended up going to the hospital for evaluation.

The Dragons starting answering that early wakeup call in the third period. At 7:09 Ehzoterik knocked in a loose puck off a Faustino shot, to narrow the score to 3-5. And at 11:05 Andrew Willock made it 4-5 on a quick wrist shot from the left circle. Still the clock was not the Dragons friend. With the supportive crowd going nuts and chanting ?Let?s Go Dragons,? Rhy Din got the breaks they were looking for. Hooking and elbowing penalties against the Djinni at 2:01 and 1:35 remaining set up a 5-on-3 power play for the Dragons. In the frenzied last minute Princess Kate banged in the tying goal with just 47.3 seconds to go.

In overtime the now fully awake Rhy Din Dragons dominated play and Kate, at 2:28 was tricked on a clear breakaway, setting up her penalty shot. To say the crowd went wild is an understatement, in an explosion of excitement (in some cases literally) the fans celebrated the win.

Angelo Serse tallied two goals and Kevin Druce stopped 37 shots to lead the Stars End Spacers to a 4-3 victory over the Dockside Djinni on Saturday night in Rhy Din Hockey League Action.

London also chipped in with a goal and an assist, as the Spacers's picked up yet another win.

Stars End jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead over the Djinni at the 2:41 mark of the first, after Serse picked up a goal on a deflection that got past Docksides' net minder Rich Sillery. The Djinni, though, wasted no time to tie the game up just four minutes later. Zephyr Favonius found a loose puck in the slot and wristed it over Druce for yet another impressive goal in a season of great goals for her.

Serse would put Stars End back on top 2-1, with his second of the game on a beautiful backhand redirection with 3:30 left in the opening frame. Russ Archer then capped off the first 20 minutes with his 11th tally of the campaign at the 19:09 mark. Scampoli found a bouncing puck alone in the slot, and snapped past Sillery to give the A's the two-goal lead at 3-1.

Halfway through the middle frame, London broke in on Sillery shorthanded, and roofed an amazing shot that most in attendance didn?t think would make it into the net. Stars End took a 4-1 lead into the second intermission after Druce stood tall turning aside all 16 shots the Djinni sent his way.

The Djinni scored again when Eurus Vulturnus shot the puck past Druce after having it fed to her by the impressive Boreas Aquilon. Dockside kept the hope alive by scoring again 4 minutes later when that defensive dynamo Boreas Aquilon took matters into his own hands and powered a shot into the net.

The game was full of odd penalties, including one for Spacers Goalie Druce in the second period for unsportsman like conduct and two at the very end of the game on Spacer's players London and Angelo Serse for "Obscene Language". Wouldn't we all love to know what they said to nab those penalties?

Druce gets his 12th win of the season, while Sillery is nabbed with his fifth loss despite stopping 13 shots.

Wow! In a time span of about 15 hours the Rhy Din Dragons sent the class of the Rhy Din Hockey League packing and picked up four points in the process. The newly energized Dragons have conditioned themselves into a force to be reckoned with. Dominating play with a strong defense, sharp passing and plenty of scoring opportunities the Dragons easily dispatched the Marketplace Monocerous by a convincing 6-3 score.

Out shooting Marketplace by a 2-to-1 margin, 52-26, was only part of the story as the defense led by ?Loveable? Mason and Ryan Farrell kept feeding the puck up to the offense. And the offense kept creating scoring opportunity after scoring opportunity centering the puck, taking quality shots and following up on the rebounds.

In Friday night's game the Dockside Djinni scored on their first shot of the game in the first minute of play. The last thing anyone expected tonight was the Rhy Din Dragons scoring on their first shot of the game in the first minute of play. But that's what happened. With only 41 seconds ticked off the clock, Princess Kate, from behind the net, fed Faustino out in front the goal and setting the tone for contest against the Monocerous In what may have been the Dragons best opening period of play, they outshot their stunned opponents, 21-10, actually putting 7 shots on net before Marketplace sent one Nick Niedert's way.

At 6:28 of the first period Marketplace briefly tied the game 1-1 when Duci was awarded a power play goal after a lengthy discussion between the three officials and the goal judge. But the dominant Dragons came right back. At 11:31 Kate was checked hard behind the net and then Faustino came in, dug out the puck, centered it to Ehzoterik, who quickly found Kate now camped out on the goal door step for the go-ahead goal. 53 seconds later it was Rhy Din with a 3-1 lead when Joe Dabkowski jammed it home on assists by Ehzoterik and Faustino.

In the second period it was "d?j? vu all over again" with the Dragons scoring on their first shot, this time taking only 29 seconds. Defenseman Mason fed a long pass up the left side, sending Faustino in on a breakaway and a 4-1 RHy Din lead. Four minutes later it was 5-1 Dragons, when a Scott Burns pass found Ehzoterik on the side of crease for an unstoppable shot. And at 11:01 it became 6-1 Dragons when Eric Lind converted a rebound off a Ehzoterik blocked shot. Monocerous goalie Corlanthis ?SparkleFish? Wystansayr was then given the rest of the night off in favor of Nicholas St. Laurent.

Two late inconsequential goals by Duci and Ahni for the Monocerous, late third period were too little, too late.

Have the beloved Sparkle Horses lost their sparkle? Is Corlanthis ?SparkleFish? Wystansayr?s unique style of goal tending finally catching up to him? Will he adjust or continue to do things in his own sparkly way?

We?ll see tomorrow when Marketplace takes on Stars End at the Stars End Aerodome. The Dragons get a night off and won?t be playing again until Monday when they meet up with The New Haven Nians.

The WestEnd Wargs beat the New Haven Nians 5-2 at The Silver Mark Arena. WestEnd's Cian Granger started off the night with a shorthanded goal assisted by Quinn Benoit. New Haven evened up the score at the end of the first period with a goal from Riley O'Rouke, assists going to Quinn McIntosh and Skylar Christoffersen.

The second period got underway with a goal for the Nians from Dustin Skinner assisted by Brian Kolb and David Lawrence. The Wargs answered back with two more goals, the first shorthanded by Benoit assisted by Granger, and Kyle Roberts and one by Ken Blum, assisted by Jose Vasquez.

Benoit started off the third period with a goal assisted by Granger and Jeffery Armando, making the score 4-2. Finishing off the scoring for the night was Armando assisted by Benoit and Granger.

Frustration was obviously getting to both teams in the third period where 11 of the 19 penalties that were assessed were handed out. Most of the penalties were for roughing and fighting as the two teams took out said frustrations on each other. Is the new rivalry going to be between these two teams or was this just a one time thing?

Richard Scarsella played in net for WestEnd stopping 28 out of 30 shots. New Haven's goalie David Lo stopped 37 out of 42.

The Spacer's were "flying high" as they soared over the first-place Marketplace Monocerous on Sunday night in Rhy Din Hockey League action.

Powered by an offensive onslaught from Loveable London (3 goals; 3 assists), Russ Archer (1 goal, 4 assists), and Mike Thomson (1 goal, 3 assists), the Spacers claimed their fifth win in a row with a 7-3 decision against the Monocerous.

The game was surprisingly calm considering the rest of the games played this weekend, there were only 7 penalties called and most of them were insignificant in the grand scheme of the game.

Also surprising was the apparent end of the Monocerous?s domination of the league. Fan favorite ?Sparklefish? fell in his second game in a row. It is to be noted that his full mane of sparkly wonderfulness was missing last night and he was wearing a rather standard goalie mask. Rumor has it that his floppy powers have been stripped from him with the theft of his mane and custom mask.

Has the Marketplace?s own Sampson been sheered of his magical locks forever? Will the team be able to win without him? Will we find out who stole the mask and how they pulled it off? Will the mask ever be found and if it is will another wear it?

I don?t know Rhy Din, what do YOU think?

The Dockside Djinni rebounded from a pair of weekend losses to defeat the WestEnd Wargs 5-2on Sunday. Eurus Vulturnus helped the team stop a three-game skid with a spectacular hat trick.

Vulturnus opened scoring in the first two minutes of action with assists going to Zephyr Favonius and Austeria Notus. The Wargs newest player Mystriana DeSabre tied the game on the power play before the first period ended. Zephyr Favonius gave the Djinni the lead with the lone goal of the second period, as Eurus Vulturnus and Boreas Aquilon drew the helpers. Vulturnus extended the lead in the third on the power play, with Favonius and Notus drawing the assists. Mystriana DeSabre cut the lead to one but Favonius roofed one to make it 4-2 off feeds from Notus and Vulturnus. Vulturnus finished the hat trick as Aquilon drew the lone assist. Richard Sillery got the win for the Djinni, saving 21 of 23 shots. Richard Scarsella made some impressive stops but took the loss for the Wargs, rejecting 28 of 33 Djinni offerings.

Everyone in the Stars End Aerodome knew it was going to be a fun night when the gloves were dropped and the punches were flying just six minutes into the New Haven Nians and Rhy Din Dragons game Monday night.

The end result, a 5-3 win for the Dragons over the Nians, seemed almost secondary to the fans and even the teams excitement over how well hockey is going over in the city.

Nian Quinn McIntosh gave the crowd something to cheer for, starting off the scoring for the Barons and the game early in the first period. That was followed up by Dragons Right Winger Ehzoterik dumping the puck in behind Nian?s goalie David Lo to tie it up. The first period was capped off by the Nians though when Riley O?Rourke skated past almost everyone and artfully slid the puck in past the Dragons goalie.

Early in the second period it looked like New Haven was going to carry the momentum gained at the end of the first when Andrew Hutton lit the light for the first time. It wasn?t to be though as that was the last goal scored by the Nians. At about 13 minutes into the second period the Dragons players Ehzoterik and Mason scored back to back goals, setting the score at 3-3.

The third period was all about the Dragons as Mason scored yet another goal to pull ahead in the match. Kate scored with 5 minutes left in the game to assure Rhy Din?s win.

While it might seem like it was a scoring contest and that was it in true Rhy Din fashion there was plenty of the physical stuff, with Nians defenseman Brad Pawlowski dropping the gloves early in the first period for a bout with Rhy Din's Mason.

That got the crowd's attention, but it proved merely to be the undercard.

It was clear by the exchanges between the two benches that Pawlowski wasn't done yet, and after a scrum in front of the Nians' net ensued late in the second period, he squared off with Rhy Din's Ehxoterik? who sported a very visible cut near her lower lip that left Pawlowski's jersey stained with blood. New Haven's Brian Boulay also received a fighting major.

All in all it was a great night for hockey, the teams were amazing, the fans had fun, and yet again everyone?s favorite Zamboni Driver John Benandanti was on hand to entertain the crowd during the period breaks. Apparently the man did quite an interesting dance while resurfacing the ice. Rumor has it there?s a petition going around to have the arena give him an ?Official? uniform, one consisting of gold lame boy shorts, and nothing else.

The fall of the powerful and popular Marketplace Monocerus continued as they were struck down by the WestEnd Wargs 8-1 Wednesday night.

The sparkle seems to have worn off the Marketplace team, as Mystriana DeSabre struck and drew first blood 2:44 into the first period with assists from Cian Granger and Quinn Benoit. Monocerus defenseman Theodore decided to be aggressive and hooked DeSabre a few minutes later and drew a penalty which opened the door for Benoit to score again for the Wargs. Anthony Monte scored again toward the end of the first period bringing the score to 3-0 Wargs. Marketplace still had some fight left in them though and in the final minutes of the first period Duci slung one past WestEnd goaltender Richard Scarsella to finally get on the board.

Any hopes that the Monocerus?s would be able to stop their current free fall in the standings was quickly crushed by the three goals Granger, Benoit, and Tibor Varga scored for the Wargs during the second period.

The third period was again, all WestEnd all the time as goal numbers seven and eight were scored by DeSabre and Benoit. In fact the only action the Monocerus were getting was in the penalty box as Vincent Smith was dinked for charging (A 5 minute major and a 10 minute game misconduct), Xenia was penalized for slashing, and Theodore was tossed into the box for a rather messy cross check.

Overall the Wargs looked energized and ready for the game while the Monoceruses looked tired and defeated. Perhaps they should contact the Watch and have them look for Sparklefishes goalie mask because it seems that without it they cannot win.

((Yeah this is the first one i totally wrote on my own without pulling from press releases from the actual teams. Have mercy.))

The two ?Ends? of the city met in what turned out to be a blow out of a game on Wednesday when the Stars End Spacers all but killed the WestEnd Wargs 8-1 at the Stars End Aerodome.

Earth rock band Bon Jovi screamed through the arena?s sound system as Russell ?Shot Through The Heart? Archer started off the scoring just over a minute into the first period with assists from Michael Thompson and Jesse Felton.

Jesse Felton then continued what could only be called an amazing night by scoring the next three goals in a Natural Hat Trick.

WestEnd finally got on the board with a goal by Mystriana DeSabre, but a victory was not in the cards as music again filled the arena when Archer closed out the first period with a beautiful backhanded goal, sliding the puck past goaltender Anthony Lucklow.

The Wargs then tried to make adjustments, first pulling Lucklow and replacing him with Eric Keiffer. A win just wasn?t in the cards for the Wayward Wargs though as five minutes into the second period Spacer Michael Thompson shot another puck into the net, making the score 6-1.

From that point on the Wargs seemed to just give up as Felton scored yet again in the third and Archer earned his own hattrick toward the end of the third.

All in all the fans seemed to enjoy the game and most seemed ready to come back for more.

The Stars End Spacers were still riding high on their amazing win on Thrusday night when they met the Rhy Din Dragons. The Spacers kept the momentum going by squeeking past the Dragons in a 3-2 overtime win in their second home game in as many nights in the Aerodome.

Yet again dynamo Russell Archer started off the scoring for the night with assists from John Goffredo and Brent Dickson. That was the only goal scored in the first period in what proved to be a back and forth fight between the two teams.

The second period started off with a power play goal by the Dragons Loveable Mason when Terry Watt crosschecked Princess Kate into the boards. Assists went to Ehzoterik and Kate in what could only be called revenge by the trouble making princess and her team.

Jessee Felton took back the lead for the Spacers with a little help from John Goffredo and Russ Archer.

A full on win was not in the cards for the Spacers though as Kate scored an unassisted goal half way through the third to tie it up. The game would stall out then with neither team scoring for the rest of regulation.

In overtime the fans in the Aerodome could be heard screaming and yelling as they cheered on their beloved Spacers. The team heard and answered 25 seconds into OT when John Goffredo, with help again from Archer and defenseman Brett Dickson, shot the puck past Dragons goaltender Peter Skoggard for the win.

To say the crowd went wild is an understatement, yet again there was a riot after the game as Dragons fans booed and Spacers fans took offence. The automated defense system within the arena quickly had control of the situation as those who were the most angry were restrained and removed from the arena.

WestEnd met Dockside Friday night at the Silver Mark arena, with the Djinni easily beating the Wargs 6-2.

The Wargs looked tired in their second loss since their sensational win on Wednesday night over the Marketplace Monocerous?s. The question is did they use all their magic in one night to defeat first place Marketplace or will they be able to figure out what?s wrong and make adjustments?

WestEnd stand out Quinn Benoit was first to get frozen rubber in the net with help from Blizzard Vaughn and Mystriana DeSabre. Exactly five minutes later though that goal as answered by Djinni, Zephyr Favonius with a little help from Eurus Vulturnus. Amazingly those two goals were the only two in the entire first period as both teams dug in and played hard hockey.

The second period was all Dockside, all the time as Eurus Vulturnus capitalized on a Cian Granger slashing penalty and Austeria Notus followed that up with a goal of her own.

Most of the action was in the third period as the Djinni pressed their advantage and all but ran over the Wargs, only allowing one goal by Benoit. Zephyr Favonious scored two of the three goals giving her a hat trick, the third was pulled out by defenseman Boreas Aquilon.

All in all it was a bit of a disappointing game as most of the fans thought that the Wargs would again blow out their opponent. Most were willing to give them another chance and were looking forward to Sundays rematch against Marketplace.

Up next for the Djinni is a match up against the Dragons, also on Sunday.

Stars End Spacers vs. New Haven Nians

The Stars End Spacers defeated the New Haven Nians 4-1 on Saturday night in RhyDin Hockey League action.

The Spacers extended their winning streak to eight straight games by jumping in early to a 1-0 lead after Chris Holmes put home London's pass in front to get the Spacers on the board at 3:28 into the first period. That certainly got the crowd, and their team, going. Felten deflected Russel Archer's shot from the point on the power play at the 6:32 mark. The man advantage was just that for the Spacers in the second period, an advantage, as they scored again to take a 3-0 lead when Nick Grove netted his first in a Stars End Jersey at the 9:46 spot for the only goal scored in the middle frame.

New Haven tallied their first goal of the game in the final period to cut the score to 3-1, after Riley O?Rourke deflected the puck past Spacers net minder Kevin Druce. The Spacers though, would regain their three-goal lead back on a late marker by London to secure the Spacers' victory.

Was it the new Spacers Flashlights that spell bound the Nians? The latest marketing gadgets for Stars End Spacers are the phaser styled flashlights. Better than other flashing that's been seen on the ice in the past.

Marketplace Monocerus vs. RhyDin Dragons

The Marketplace Monocerus had their chance to pay back the defeat they suffered last weekend against RhyDin. The Monocerus were dominating play with a strong defense, sharp passing and plenty of scoring opportunities and frustrated the RhyDin Dragons with a convincing 5-1 final tally.

After a scoreless and at times sluggish first period with the crowd playing with their fake "Cor Manes" more than watching the game, the Monocerus poured on the scoring in the second period.

At 1:43 of the second period Marketplace's Xenia opened up the scoring with assists going to Theodore. At 5:01 Vincent Smith made it 2-0 with assists going to Duci and Theodore. At 7:25 On her way out of the penalty box Ahni picked up a breakway pass from Xenia and went all alone with the Nick Neidert and beat him one on one to make it 3-0 for the Monocerus. The Monocerus scored one more goal before the end of the second with an unassisted goal by one of the top D-man in the RHL, Vincent Smith.

The Third period featured some rough stuff Dragons tough guy Faustino squared off with Monocerus Aaron Naphon. Faustino dominated the bout from start to finish and left Naphan bloodied and in need of repairs. The Dragons ruined the shutout for re-maned goalie Cor,who has yet to record a shutout this season. Ehzoterik scored the lone goal for the Dragons at the 2:05 mark of the third period. However 40 seconds later Duci scored for the Monocerus to make it 5-1. The Dragons outshot the Monocerus 43-32 Despite being short benched tonight.

Marketplace Monocerus vs West End Wargs

Marketplace Monocerus dominated the Wargs, and with an end score of 7-4 over the West End Wargs, you can bet the Marketplace fans were glad to see goalie Cor had his proper goalie mask back. There?s no denying it was Xenia, left wing for the Monocerus that really got the team rallied. With Duci and Vincent not being left out of the scoring onslaught. Hard to blame the Wargs, though, who were playing with a shortened bench due to some injuries on the roster. They just couldn?t get the wind back, or take it out of the Monocerus. Shots on goal would not tell this game, as the Monocerus only edged out the Wargs 39-38, but Cor ?Rainbow Fish? was back in style, and he wasn?t letting many get by.

Rhydin Dragons vs Dockside Djinni

RhyDin Dragons' center Kate "Deadly When I Skate" scored twice on the power play, including the game-winner, as the Dragons scored the last four goals of the game to win 5-3 over the Dockside Djinni today at the Stars End Aerodrome. Hundreds braved the cold weather to witness the contest.

The Dragons opened scoring early as Kate tallied. The Djinni responded as Eurus Vulturnus scored on the power play with assists going to Zephyr Favonius and Alex Lacombe. Vulturnus gave Dockside the lead to end first period scoring, as Boreas Aquilon earned the helper. Austeria Notus opened second period scoring off feeds from Boreas Aquilon and Marcus Pryde. Eurus Vulturnus's first power-play goal made it 3-2. The Dragons tied the game early in the third period as Ehzoterik beat Djinni' goalie Karac Davis, while Vulturnus converted his second goal of the game to seize the lead. The Djinni continued to test Peter Skoggard, but the Swede overcame the early deficit and stayed strong, stopping 32 of 35 shots in the game, including all 15 in the third period. Ehzoterik added an empty-net goal to give RhyDin just their third road win of the year. Coupled with Marketplace's 7-4 win earlier, the Djinni sit five points out of first place.

This evening's game may also settle some of those rumors going around from a few days ago. It's all in the games, including all the blood and tears.

It looks like those Genie Wishing Lamps that the Dockside Djinni handed out on Thursday night worked for the team as the wishes of their fans were answered and the team crushed the WestEnd Wargs 10-5.

The beginning of the game gave no indication of how big the scoring difference would be when Wargs center, Mystriana DeSabre scored the first goal of the game. Cian ?One of Many? Granger and Quinn ?Hat Trick Hottie? Benoit both assisted, much to the delight of the Wargs faithful.

It didn?t take long for the Djinni to answer that goal though, Decon Wrath barrelled past everyone, fighting his way to score unassisted. Apparently the entire team felt that a penalty should have been called against Dockside tough guy Boreas Aquilion as they thought he?d been a bit over aggressive in trying to stop Wrath in his quest for that goal. No penalty was called but Wrath got his revenge when he hooked Aquilion a few minutes later. A quick reminder to all players out there, current and future, they always catch and call the retaliation, especally when you complained about the lack of a call less than 3 minutes earlier. This is exactly what happened to Wrath as he was sent to the penalty box for 2 minutes.

The penalty didn?t stop the Dockside momentum as they shut down all attempts by the wargs to score a goal and then scored one of their own shortly after the end of the power play. Eurus Vulturnus got that revenge with a little help from Aquilion himself as he assisted on the goal.

With the score 2-1 Djinni, the Wargs had to dig deep, Granger answered, sliding one past Dockside goalie Richard Sillery. That was followed by another DeSabre goal 2 minutes and 20 seconds later. It seemed like momentum was going the Warg?s way in the closing minutes of the first period the score was 3-2.

It was not to be though as Austeria Notus finally made her presence known and scored, tying it up at 3-3 and shifting things the Djinni?s way.

The second period was all defense all the time compared to the first period with only 3 goals total scored during 20 minutes of play. James Kirkwood started things off with a quick powerplay goal for the Djinni when three Wargs and two Djinni were tossed into the boxes for various slashing, holding, and roughing penalties.

Austeria Notus answered however, scoring for the Wargs, again in a beautiful fashion (This woman really floats on the ice, you all should catch a game and see her). It was at this point Dockside cutie Cian Granger really made himself known, scoring at the end of the second, starting a tidlewave of goals for the Djinni that the Wargs just couldn?t overcome.

The third period started off with a Granger goal, followed by...you guessed it, a Granger goal. No the Djinni don?t have more than one of the Grand Granger clan on their team, Cian Granger is just THAT good.

Zephyr Favonius tried to stem the avalanche but her goal was too little, too late as three minutes later James Kirkwood scored for the Djinni on a powerplay goal. Quinn Benoit then scored for the Dockside Dancing Djinni, looking for all the world like she was born to do this.

Of course the final goal was scored by Cian Granger and his dance behind the goal was something ot be seen, it had quite a few of the female fans wishing he?d take a page from the old Tera movie Slap Shot and pull a striptease sometime after a goal.

Perhaps the Djinni should request that their fans bring those little lamps to every game?

New Haven?s struggle to gain a winning record continued Friday night when the team met the Stars End Spacers at the Aerodome. Perhaps it was the loud crowd with the aliens they received in the give away, maybe it was just the nervous energy of everyone in the arena as they waited not only for the game to begin but for the the show they all hoped a certain Mr. John Benandanti was going to give them during the period breaks.

Yet again the first period of the game gave little indication of how big the scoring deficit would be. It was a defensive battle full of penalties and frustration by both teams. Russell Archer started off the string of infractions by slashing Ms. Riley O?Rourke. The Nian?s goalie, David Lo seemed to not be happy about that hit on his future bride and rapped his stick against the pipes of the goal to vent his frustration.

Riley got her revenge three minutes later with a wicked slash of her own on Russ, actually skating away with her arms held up in victory. The two minutes she spent in the box were apparently worth it as she smiled and yelled mockingly at any and all Spacers who passed where she was sitting.

The period was ended with even more penalties at the twenty minute mark. London, apparently still smarting over the earlier treatment of his teammate hit the you know what out of Riley who then got up, raced up the ice and hit him as hard as she could. The end of the period came before the whistle could be blown so both penalties were called at the same time.

The second period saw one goal by the Nians, thanks to Riley but that was it from the team as the rest of the game was all Spacers all the time.

Russel Archer proved that his aim is true by scoring first for Stars End, this opened up the flood gates as defenseman Jarret Rush scored halfway through the period. Andrew Scampoli finished off the period by sliding one past David Lo with only a minute and a half left.

By the third period it seemed like the Nians had lost their kick and were dragging a bit as they didn?t score the entire 20 minutes of play. Even the Spacers seemed to slow down toward the end of the game as the only two goals they scored were in the first two minutes (Archer again shot the puck past Lo, followed by a goal by London). The last 15 minutes of play were all defense all the time as both teams dug deep, the Spacers were determined not to let their 4 goal lead disappear and the Nians digging in to try to keep the puck out of their net. At the end of the third the score was Spacers 5, Nians 1, which is actually deceiving as the Nians did play some inspired hockey, the puck just didn?t bounce their way.

And for Mr. Benandanti and his scintillating period break show? Rumor has it he was fully dressed but promising something extra special in the upcoming weeks. So what will it be? Gold lame thong? Green body paint, googly eyes headband and nothing else? A full on striptease?

Guess you?ll have to go to the games to find out.

Yet again it seems like the give away at one of the game was good luck for the team represented. Yes the stuffed SparkleFishes that were given to the fans may have propelled the Marketplace Monocerus past the WestEnd Wargs 11-8 in Friday night?s game at the Silver Mark Arena.

The high scoring game was a lot of fun for the fans who got louder and louder as the scores went up and up. Ahni started off the flood of goals just over a minute into play after WestEnde defenseman Deacon Wrath was called for holding 35 seconds into play. You might think that was some sort of record but you?d be wrong, there have been games in the past where fights have started off before the puck even dropped.

In the next three minutes WestEnd scored three goals, Quinn Benoit got first blood and revenge for the call against Wrath by hard hitting the puck past Cor ?SparkleFish?. Mystriana DeSabre scored next with a graceful little shot that sailed right over the flopping Cor?s shoulder. The third Wargs goal of the period was scored by Cian Granger who apparently has quiet the female following as there was much screaming and fainting whenever he had the puck.

With the score 3-1 WestEnd, the Monocerus snapped out of whatever funk they were in and started fighting back literally. In the second half of the period there were not only 4 goals scored by Marketplace there were some interesting penalties. Duci floated down the ice and scored an impressive goal with a twirl at the end of it, supporting her new nick name: Dancing Duci. Next to score was ?Awesome? Ahni, I must say that the women who are currently playing this game are not only bringing speed but a grace that makes some of the plays beautiful. Speaking of women Marketplace player Xenia was called a few minutes later for unsportsmanlike conduct. The Wargs thought his would be a great opening but it wasn?t to be as Dancing Duci then scored a shorthanded goal for the Monocerus?s.

The Wargs were then called for too many men on the ice, the penalty was served by a fairy pissed off Quinn Benoit. The Wargs scored 30 seconds into the power play when Awesome Ahni again shot some frozen rubber into the net.

So at the end of the first the score was Monocerus 5, Wargs 3, the fans were excited and everyone was pumped up for the second period of play.

Vincent Smith scored first in the second period, making the score 6-3 Marketplace. When Ahni hooked Cian Granger and was sent to the box, Granger got his revenge by scoring a goal and celebrating tight in front of the Penalty Box. A sort of ?in your face? to miss ?Awesome? and her team. Ahni strolled out of the penalty box and a minute later got her own revenge by scoring yet another goal of her own. Thirty seconds after that goal Ahni showed her intentions with a wicked check from behind, again taking Granger to the ice and scoring Little Miss A another 2 minutes in the box. It looks like these two might have a ?thing? going on doesn?t it?

The Wargs monopolized on the powerplay and Benoit scored, again celebrating in front of the Monocerus bench. This apparently lit a fire under Xenia?s rear as she ended the period with a goal of her own. The score at the end of the second period? Marketplace 8, WestEnd 5.

Everyone was wondering what would happen in the third period and for once the talk during the period break wasn?t about the supposed gnome infestation of the arena but instead was on what everyone thought they were going to see on the ice during the final 20 minutes of play.

Granger continued his incredible game by scoring the first goal of the third period, his play is truly inspired and those of you who are thinking of picking up a stick, you would do well to watch and study this man?s play style. It?s no surprise that the next goal was scored by Ahni for Marketplace. Would you all like to guess who scored next? Of course it was Granger and then another puck in the net for Ahni. Perhaps the universe is trying to tell these two something? Or maybe they?re destined to be mortal enemies, who knows?

Benoit scored again for the Wargs and the final goal was scored by Xenia for the Monocerus. The final score was 11-8 Marketplace.

It was another high scoring night when the Marketplace Monocerus?s took on the Dockside Djinni, beating them 8-5 Saturday night.

Duci yet again started off the flood of goals by gracefully shooting the puck past Djinni goalie Richard Sillery. Dockside wasn?t going to lay down without a fight though as tough guy Boreas Aquilon tied it at 1 27 seconds later. Duci, wasn?t willing to give up the lead though scoring, shorthanded with less than a minute left in the period, making the score 2-1.

Those within the Aerodome waited with baited breath for the period break ?Zamboni Show? by Mr. John Benandanti who was apparently wearing about 7 shirts, stripping each one off and tossing it over the glass, into the crowd. All the fainting ladies were to be disappointed though as that last shirt stayed on and there were no peeks at what lies underneith. I say, keep em guessing John!

Marketplace started off the second period with what is quickly becoming a well known one-two punch when Xenia and then Ahni scored within three minutes of each other.

Dockside again refused to admit defeat and the next two goals were theirs, Zephyr Favonius proved that her reputation for fearlessness on the ice was well deserved as she not only took on Marketplace goalie Cor ?SparkleFish? head on, shooting the puck gloveside (and finding his apparent weakness), making the goal, and then flipping over the net, with what could only be called a 10 point Awesome landing, arms raised in victory. Austeria Notus scored next and let me say that this woman seems to float on the ice, if I didn?t know that all the rinks are warded against magic usage during games I?d swear she was casting something.

With the score 4-3 Marketplace it looked like Dockside was going to keep the game close and might even topple the first place team.

The Marvelous Monocerus (AKA the Marvelous Mono?s) refused to relinquish their status as highest scoring team as Xenia scored again, playing up to the crowd by skating from behind the net and then sliding from center ice to her own goal on her knees, doing a rather interesting ?arm dance?. Not to be out done Duci scored then skated along the boards, starting the wave in the arena that lasted until the end of the period. Boy these ladies sure know how to keep the crowd in the game don?t they?

As the seconds counted down all you could hear in the arena was the name ?John? chanted over and over again, though there were rumors that the word ?thong? was also shouted out by a few rather despearate females and I believe a few pairs of panties were thrown onto the ice and cleaned up before the Zamboni ever hit it. Again all were to be disappointed as Jonty John was a well behaved gentleman, simply waving to those who screamed his name.

Who do you think scored first 39 seconds into the third period? If your guess was Duci then you?re oh so right. That woman is on fire and nothing is putting that smoking hot babe out. Eurus Vulturnus scored next, keeping the Djinni in the game and their hopes alive.

In the back and forth scoring contest you know the next goal came from a Marketplace player, Ahni danced on down the ice and shot the puck into the net. The final goal of the game went to Austeria Notus, leaving the score at 8-5 Marketplace.

In a game that was played much earlier than scheduled due to the rescheduling of the Gala, the Rhy Din Dragons beat down the New Haven Nians 7-2 Saturday night.

The first goal of the night went to the struggling Nians when Riley O?Rourke blasted one past Dragons Nick Niedert. It looked like the newest team in the league was finally going to break their losing streak.

That is until Princess Trouble got her stick on the puck and scored, then scored again, leaving the score of the game 2-1 at the end of the first.

The period break consisted of a cute ?Rhy Din Gnome?s? game where the Reds beat the Blue?s 4-3. I do have to wonder though if it was a planned game as the staff of the arena was chasing (or falling on their duff?s as they attempted to chase) both teams as they played. Either way it was exciting and fun to watch.

The second period was all Dragons for the whole 20 minutes. Defenseman Mason scored with an assist from Excitable Ehz. Yet again the Princess scored the last two goals of the period, setting her goal count at 4 through the end of the second period, rather impressive but perhaps she is as good as she is because she?s the only one from the ?old league? who plays so she?s had years of practice with Rhy Din?s rather unique style of play.

There were no incidents during the second period break, much to the disappointment of the fans. They all seem to enjoy seeing the arena staff bumbling around and being harmed. Typical Rhy Din reaction actually.

Faustino was finally heard from in the third period, carrying on the Dragons pattern of scoring two goals in a row. That man is hot and if anyone can get an interview with him let me know or pass along my number cause I wouldn?t toss him out of my bed in the morning.

The last goal of the night belonged to New Haven?s Andrew Hutton, it brought the score to 8-2 in favor of the Dragons. Here?s hoping that New Haven finds it?s feet soon because they are a young, energetic team that I think could be true contenders once the squad shakes things out a little.

In what was an amazingly close game the WestEnd Wargs beat the New Haven Nian?s 4-3 at the Stars End Aerodome on Sunday.

It does look like the Nians are finally coming together as a team and playing in a more cohisive way. Riley O?Rourke lit the lamp first, skating down the ice to pounce and hug her hubby to be, Goalie David Lo. It?s good to see two people so in love and happy.

Cian Granger had to rain on the love fest though, scoring his own, short handed, goal for WestEnd and tying the game up at 1 a piece.

Interestingly enough the game would stall at 1-1 for the entire second period as the defense on both teams stepped up and didn?t let the puck near either goal for the full 20 minutes.

With the fans getting restless and tired of seeing more defense than offence it was up to a certain Mr. John to get the crowd roaring again and boy did he ever. Armed with what can only be called ?the Rose Cannon? our very own John Boy started shooting roses into the crowd, taking careful aim to hit a few special ladies. A near riot almost broke out over one rose that was dropped by the lucky (or unlucky) reciepiant, with the winner holding that precious gift in the air with a triumphant grin on her face.

Scoring picked up in the third period with Nian David Lawerence scoring a power play goal on a Quinn Benoit tripping call (a call she still maintains should never have happened).

Benoit got her revenge though as she scored for the Wargs, a few of the fans who were sitting on the ice swore they heard her say ?Take that and Shove it up your...? I don?t know if she did say it but I can say that tickets for seats on the ice have started selling out.

Vincent Amigone (perfect name for Rhy Din, really) scored next for the Nians, giving them the lead and forcing the Wargs to dig deep and go for the tie.

Which they did Riley scored with 40 seconds left on the clock tying the two teams at 3 a piece and forcing them into over time.

If the idea of an overtime game was only exciting to true hockey fans, the idea of another period break show by Mr. John kept even the most casual fans in their seats and screaming for more. The Rose Cannon made another appearance, this time with a twist, when the last rose was shot, a snowstorm of rose petals fell on the screaming crowd.

Amazingly there were no goals scored in OT with Mr. Lo and Eric Kieffer stopping every shot that came their way.

When time ran out it was time for the shoot out, a first in Rhy Din Hockey history. First up was Mystriana DeSabre for the Wargs, sliding the puck past Lo on the stick side she celebrated with arms in the air. Next was Mr. Amigone who was unfortunately totally gone and missed the net entirely.

Everyone?s favorite Granger stepped up to the line next, easily sliding the puck past Lo and from what I Hear? Blowing kisses to the female fans as he did so. This is a boy to watch. Riley was next for the Nians, the poor girl was denied, leaving the shoot out score at 2-0 WestEnd.

Blizzard Vaughn stepped up for the Wargs as the only defenseman in the shoot out line up. There might be a reason for that as he couldn?t get the puck past Lo. Neither could New Haven?s Kyle Frieday though, keeping the score at 2-0.

Quinn Benoit was up next and she sealed the deal with her quick goal, setting the shoot out score at 3-0 and the game score at 4-3 WestEnd.

First place Marketplace fell to Dockside 8-4 on Sunday. It appears as though Cor ?Sparkle Fish? did have his patented goalie mask on but perhaps it was damaged in the last game they played?

Yet again it was a defensive battle in the first period of play with only one goal being scored by Marketplace?s Ahni. You can forgive most fans and even reporters, players, and Aerodome staff for believing that this was going to be yet another Monocerous?s blow out. Especially when Ahni scored again at the beginning of the second period. The Djinni weren?t about to lay down and take it though, fighting back and creating a scoring opportunity for Zesty Zephyr Favonius three minutes into the second.

That one goal opened the flood gates for the Djinni, next we saw Eurus Vulturnus speed down the ice and shoot that frozen rubber into the net. Followed by Austeria Notus a few minutes later. Zephyr Favonius closed out the second period for the Damndable Docksiders by not only pushing the puck past ?SparkleFish? but mocking him after she did so, turning to blow him a kiss as she skated away.

Marketplace did score one goal at the end of the second, Xenai contributed to the girl power vibe going on with that team by scoring the final goal of the period, leaving the score at 4-3 Dockside.

The Djinni came out strong in the third period, sending a clear message to the Monocerous?s as Austeria Notus scored again less than two minutes into the period. Not one to let the girls have all the fun Boreas Aquilon scored next, fist pumping and shooting ?SparkleFish? with his stick as he skated away. Zephyr Favonius kept the pressure on Poor Poor Cor by scoring, again laughing at the poor man, reaching out to lightly pat him on his besparkled head before heading back up the ice. Boreas Aquilon closed out the third for the Djinni by scoring another goal, this man might be gruff and great in a fight but I have to say he?s got some grace too.

Still battling Ahni scored the final goal of the game and while it might not have won them the game, it was a moral victory and showed that the Marketplace team wouldn?t lie down and take it, even when they couldn?t win.

The final score was Dockside 8, Marketplace 4

The Rhy Din Dragons fell to the Stars End Spacers 4-3 in the leagues second shoot out on Sunday.

As he level of play increases in the league we?re seeing more close games, which is exciting for all true hockey fans. As Kate yet again dominated the first period, scoring the only goal, assisted by Faustino and Mason, it was hard not to notice that ths wasnt? going to be one of those high scoring blow out games.

Instead we saw two well disciplined, hard working teams battling it out on the ice.

The second period saw Kate score again, with help from her favorite wing men Faustino and Mason. These three seem to be gelling as almost everytime they?re on the ice together one of them scores.

Russel Archer wasn?t content to let his team sit back and take it though, scoring a powerplay goal half way through the second period.

Much to the dismay of the fans those were the only two goals scored in the second as the goalies and defense of both teams dug in and refused to let the puck past them.

The third period, much like the first only saw one goal, only this time it was Spacer Russel Archer scoring it, tying up the game at 2 a piece. Amazingly the defensive battle continued in the overtime and no goals were scored.

So it was off to the shoot out where Goalies Kevin Druce (Stars End) and Nick Niedert (Rhy Din) would face shooters one by one.

Russel Archer was up first for the Spacers, shooting the puck past Niedert for the score. Kate was up next for the dragons and while she tried, Druce was able to block what could have been a beautiful goal. The Shoot out score was 1-0 Spacers after the first round.

London was up next for the Spacers again beating Niedert for the score. Faustino tried for the Dragons, missing the net as well. Shoot out score after the second round? 2-0 Spacers.

Casey Mignone stepped up to the line for the Spacers, attempting a rather odd twirl and shoot move that was easily swept away by Niedert. Ehz tried for the Dragons but just like everyone before her she was denied. Shoot Out Score after the third round? 2-0 Spacers.

Matthew Puntureri was the last skater for the spacers and he didn?t even try, Niedert easily blocked the half shot. Steve McClellan was the last skater for the Dragons, it appeared his heart wasn?t in it and his shot was easily swept aside as well. Final Shoot out socre 2-0 Spacers which made the game score 3-2 Spacers.
