?Are you going to be sad when it is all over?? Andy asked Katarina as they stretched for the upcoming performance. Her body was straight on the floor, and his hand helped stretch her leg back towards her body.
?Nah really. I mean, it was fun ?n all, bu? I dun wanna do opera?s mah whole life, yanno?? Breathing in deep with a slow release, she was able to stretch her leg further, and felt it hit her shoulder.
?Yeah, but that?s assuming the troupe will really happen. We have been waiting for so long, it just might never happen.? He released her leg, and repeated the process with the other.
?Ya dun thin? it?ll happen??
?I am not sure. I haven?t heard of any instructors, or any audition times.? His voice dripped of disappointment, gently pushing her leg as far up as it would stretch.
Katarina fell silent, and focused on finishing her stretches. Everything she wanted was focus on the hope of the troupe starting and coming together. Without that, her desire to stay in Rhydin would only be personal. The dancing pair stayed focused on their stretching, Katarina now helping Andy stretch his legs.
?Attention, everyone!? Madame walked into the studio, holding a piece of paper close to her chest, ?This is just something for you to glance at before the show.? She turned, taped it to a pillar, and walked away.
While a few went to go glance at the paper, Katarina continued to help stretch her friend?s leg. She was trying to stretch it further, and found some small amount of satisfaction in watching his face twitch in pain.
?It?s the troupe!? Someone cried, and suddenly every available dancer was swarming to the pillar. Caught off guard, Katarina used Andy?s leg to support her quick stand, much to his dismay, and hurried to get a peak.
There were too many people trying to look, even if she rose to her toes, she could not see. She tried to squeeze her way through, until someone grabbed her shoulders and gave her a hearty shake.
?Congratulations, Rini!?
?Wha? happened?? Her thoughts jumbled along with her body as someone was still shaking her.
?You made principle!?
She was released, only to have the group of dancer?s approaching her and patting her shoulder or giving hugs of congratulations. She was moved far enough forward to look at the list, and saw her name, along with three others, listed under the title of principle.
Suddenly giddy, she gave a whoop of laughter, and hug everyone fiercely.
