Submitting an Article to the Vindicator

Anyone is welcome to submit an article to the Rhy'Din Vindicator; we just have a few requests for formatting, etc. that should be adhered to. The Vindicator is not here to replace the Oracle, merely to fill the gap and with any luck, serve as the realms 'serious' paper. So, you're not going to find a whole lot of fluff pieces, though some human interest stories on occasion are perfectly fine.

1. All articles MUST have an objective, neutral point of view. Reporters are not to use 'I' statements; it's not a reporter's job to make judgment calls or to insert themselves into the writing, it's just their job to report the news and allow the public to come to their own conclusions.

2. All articles submitted should be as clean and correct as possible. The editors reserve rights to edit for grammar, spelling, formatting, neutrality or length. Running a newspaper means that column space, length and such are important.

That's pretty much it! Every story sent to us that we feel is proper to print will earn the sendee 25 crowns. Articles can be PMed to this name (Rhy'Din Vindicator) and should preferably be in before the end of the month. We can't make guarantees on our print dates or deadlines for certain just yet, as we're still working that out. When we do, however, we'll let everyone know.

Thank you!

Submitting an Opinion to the Vindicator

Most good newspapers have an Opinions page, which presents more than one viewpoint on local events. Unlike articles, these do not have to have an objective, neutral point of view. We only ask that opinions sent in for print have some relevance to current events; depending on our print space and relevance, we'll likely choose two to four local opinions. Those who's opinions are printed will receive 25 crowns. All editing standards apply as to grammar and spelling.

You can PM Opinions to this account, and we're looking forward to seeing them!

Submitting a Picture for the Vindicator

Pictures submitted must have some relevance to current events. We will attempt to post ahead of print what we need photographers to get shots of for us; in which case, the best and most apt photograph will be ran in print and the photographer will earn 25 crowns for the submission.

Political cartoons are likewise taken, provided that they're in a good form and preferably in good taste (ie, no nudity, no unfounded attacks on individuals, etc.).

Sports in the Vindicator

Sports submissions are perfectly welcome. We ask that the sports submissions adhere to the neutral point of view, and would prefer any writeups on games, duels, races or otherwise to be as straightforward and as brief as possible. Simple scores are an acceptable substitute. For all sports submissions printed, 15 crowns will go to whoever wrote it up.

As the owner of the Rhy'Din Vindicator and the Dockside News Report, I'm choosing for now to put all of my journalistic focus into working on the Oracle. This will mean that the Vindy won't be needed anymore; of course, if ever comes the day it is again, it will be hauled back out of mothballs.

Thank you for reading our two issues, and keep an eye on the Oracle for any further stories.
