Jamie Kilner was crouched under the moonlight at the edge of a roof, reading over the latest bulletins that had been delivered to her mansion doorstep. As usual they clumsily described the deeds committed by various vigilantes and terrorists, and occasionally vandals. Nothing new in the city of Rhy'Din. Her dark painted lips frowned and she tossed the loose sheets of paper off the roof's edge.
Jamie was frankly bored. Her bordello recruitment wasn't doing exceptionally well, and because of it business had barely even started. It seemed that she either she wasn't looking in the right places, or the city was too fixated on violence to care about the more carnal pleasures. Occasionally she had mused about stopping by the local slave markets to raise her bordello's roster. She was beginning to think that wasn't such a bad idea.
Red, bat-like wings stretched outward for a moment before folding to her back again. Slowly she stood to her full height of seven feet and three inches, sleeveless, strapless, light blue gown blowing slightly in the wind and allowing the front slit to expose the pale stockings that contrasted with the red flesh underneath. Anyone who was watching would be able to tell by such deliberate movement that she was not one of the the many gargoyles and grotesques that decorated the building she perched on. Such an eerie sight it might have been to see a former "statue" move.
She smiled as she studied Rhy'Din's low skyline for a moment, picking out the dark shapes of buildings from the absolute dark of the night sky. The demoness marveled at how it was such a strangely calming sight. She crossed her arms over her bosomed chest, allowing a relaxed sigh escape her parted lips.
That was when she heard it. It sounded like the short, quick footsteps of someone moving swiftly across a nearby roof. Her dark eyes danced quickly in its direction, just across an alley from her position. She caught the last sight of movement disappearing over the opposite roof's edge, dropping out of view. Never a cease in activity in Rhy'Din it would seem.
She immediately dismissed the curiosity from her mind. It was probably one of the various vigilantes or murderers she'd been hearing about since her return several months ago. Hell, it was probably even a cat burglar.... It was none of her concern or business.
Jamie's gaze returned to examining the night skyline of Rhy'Din City.
