The small coastal town was very well known to her. In fact, once upon a time it had been her dear, sweet home before she had been inflicted by the curse that had changed her life forever. While that curse had been long ago... removed, it had set her on the path to what she was now.

Jamie was perched on a high cliff that overlooked the town, leathery, red wings folded behind her back. Eraldport was the town's name and it looked as though it hadn't changed particularly all that much since she was last here. The church that had prosecuted her as a demon back then because it did not understand that she had been cursed was still there as was her old home and the home of the witch who had cursed her.

For all its rhetoric, it was she that the church should have gone after, not Jamie.

Although it's ironic now since I have become an actual demon, she thought. Wouldn't Father Crassa love to get a load of me now?

The demoness chuckled softly, admiring her shapely figure in the dim moonlight. She wore a form-fitting, dark purple gown with slit sides to show off her stockinged legs. First he'd probably feel arousal at seeing her before proceeding to brandish his cross and try to exorcise her from his church. Maybe she'd pay him a visit sometime, but at the moment she was content to think of the possibilities.

She had gone down there earlier to challenge the witch that had wronged her so long ago but she found the house largely abandoned. Much of the furniture was still in there, but a number of the woman's items had not. It was as though the woman packed up what she could and then immediately vacated the premises. Out of the witch's extensive library of arcane books and relics, only the most basic cantrips had been left behind.

Jamie did happen upon the witch's wardrobe and found still quite a bit of items of clothing. She took those for herself, as one could never have too many clothes. Of course she'd have to resize them, but that was a simple charm that anyone or anything possessing magical power could do.

At a point, she had thought of visiting her old family, but then thought wiser of it. She had changed and grown beyond them and besides, even if she took on a more presentable form for the visit, it still wouldn't be the way they had known her. Even now, their comfort was still partially important to her. Let them continue to remain oblivious to what she had chosen for herself out of the two bodies that the curse had given her in its duration.

"In a way, I suppose I should thank you," Jamie spoke quietly, thinking of the witch. "Wherever you are."
