Connar Valdor

Connar Valdor was born on earth thousands of years ago, before the time of Noah. He grew up serving the people of the City of Enoch, one of the young guards asked to protect the City. The City was thriving, the people living in peace and happiness, having no poor among them, devoted followers of their God. While protecting the borders, God, in His infinite wisdom, removed the City from off the earth, its citizens received into a state of rest...those not in the city, but equal and worthy to being taken heavenward, were caught in limbo between two worlds.

These Sons of the Valiant Order ? Valor of Gold, were given the choice to join those in Zion, or continue to labor for righteousness below. Though he was among the youngest to choose this path, Connar had never known loneliness all his days, having never loved nor having ever felt alone...That all changed when he arrived in Rhydin.

He had chased shadows from medieval earth through a mysterious portal, finding himself in a strange land. In the short few months since arriving in Rhydin, Connar had passed through a lifetime of experiences?this city and realm with its mystical creatures, powerful, enchanting characters, and magical hold on all those setting foot upon its ancient soil. He had passed through a portal opened in his ancient world, allowing passage to this one, offering an escape from his oath-bound duties on earth, an escape he didn?t know he wanted or that he yearned for until he was here. Secluded from heaven?s gaze, he tarried, opening his mind, his heart and his soul for the first time.

Connar had fallen in love with an elven wind mage, Shea of GreenStone. And it was his heart and the struggle of a weighted soul that filled his time in Rhydin with joy and pain. Could he say farewell to his home and his god forever to remain with her? This was a harder battle than any he had faced with a sword. The struggle was not one of flesh and blood, muscle and bone, but one of will, of desire, of love. He had lost touch with everything he once knew and trusted to be right...but he had never considered love and companionship like this before...he couldn't change this realm...but it was on the verge of changing him.*

The contest to stay or go weighed heavily on his mind as he rode off one dark winter morning, heading to the hidden portal, intending on collecting his cached possessions, and turn his back on his world to stay with Shea. Dark spirits followed him there, looking for a way to bring the power and evil of Rhydin through the portal to infect and control medieval earth. Connar pursued the spirits into his world and time, nearly facing death at the hands of those he was meant to serve. Connar prevailed, dragging that most evil of spirits, Graeven, back through the portal, and destroying the passage before it could be used again.

Connar came back different, changed, the fire inside of him lit anew. He did not know if he could undue the evil done in his world, all might very well be lost. And Graevyn, now having tasted the power he was able to wield in borrowed flesh, would be looking for a way back. Connar would make that his vigil, to keep his world free of that evil shadow. He would do all in his power to set things right, both in his world and here, in this realm of Rhydin.**
