Austin had quietly suffered her little ?Welcome to RhyDin? culture shock all alone. She preferred it that way most often. It was hard to keep up appearances all the time. Yet, she?d put on her Arianna persona for so many years, she wasn?t sure she knew how to take it off and just be Austin Honey. It was easier to just ?be? when it was only her cousins around, but strangers were still treated to the Opera Singer.
It wasn?t the Opera Singer that was pouring her heart out into that country song though. It wasn?t the Opera singer voice dripping the sweet honeyed notes from her lips. The song was definitely about her high school sweetheart, but it was therapy as well. By the time the lyrics moved from her pencil to her voice, they had become a confession that was long overdue; not just to the boy, either. Austin knew there was a whole slew of things that needed tough changes and hard choices. Maybe RhyDin was the eraser to the slate.
"Go"
By A.H. Daniels
I still dream of that boy, The one I hurt
He was a football star, And I was the jerk
Backwater town wasn?t going to be my life
I told that boy I wouldn?t be his wife
He hung his head, He sighed real low
He whispered my name, Said he had to go
And I said ?Go?
Don?t let me stop you
Go on now, Go
But I?m-a gonna top you
Baby, I?m already gone.
Big Time, Big City, Seedy Bars, Dirty and Gritty
Found myself a Lonely Girl, A Country girl in an ugly world
I went on home, Yeah I went back
I looked for him, and I finally asked
Momma, Have you heard from him?
Has he mentioned me, like he always did?
He was here, musta been July
Asked us how you were getting by
He sat a spell and drank some tea
Talked about his family
He took a look at your last photo
And sudden-like he had to go
And He said ?Go?
Didn?t mean to keep you
So I?ll just go
Sure was nice to see you
He was already gone
I still dream of that boy, I still hear our song
I still taste his kiss, I still feel so wrong
So I just Go
I keep on pretending
I just go
But I?m still here lamenting
Baby, my heart is gone
