( Full Title: Bandages & Bottles ? Apothecary, Adventure Shops, & Oddities )

There had been a rise of information pertaining to a certain shop, Bandages & Bottles, that leaked into the masses of Rhydin. Potions to weapons anything needed for Horoscopes or Heroscopes and more could be found there. Perhaps the most impressive thing about the shop wasn?t the items sold there but instead, the crew of adventurers who attended and ran the shop itself ? Smash & Grab.

From the outside, the shop itself seemed to be rather a small thing with only a single window, a door, and strip of wood on the other side. If looking from the outside, the shop seemed to be nothing worth stopping for. However, the presence the shop took somehow was enough to cause people to do double takes as much like a certain well-known object ? it was bigger on the inside.

The black framing of the doors outside was mocked by the grainy wood inside. The tile looked a little old but well taken care of. One side of the shop was filled with herbs and other reagents, the other had a counter along with a small bar with jars and mugs filled with candy and booze (enchanted with different effect). Back wall stocked the typical treasures of any hero shop along with a set of grand stairs (which didn?t seem to fit the single story plan of the building outside).

Being as the shop was also for a Heroscopes there were other things besides the reagents and potions one might typical expect. They had a small forge for those who wore armor that needed repairs, a library opened to the public for education of the lands and magic, a coliseum style arena that is used for tournaments off and on, a dungeon that can access other locations to help people train, Green House and garden for growing herbs, and a small plot of lands that held several intriguing geographical hot spots.

The crew who owned the shop was rumored to help protect the lands taking quest on from across the landscape of Rhydin and beyond. The rumor is thought to be true due to the questing flyers that was taped either to the window or to the back wall. Some were laid out for public due to the lower threat of dangers while others were kept in the wall in categories based on the probability of issues.

History of the shop
(before rebranding)

Once upon a time, it is how most good stories start including ours. Princess Sapphire was born to a kingdom in the outskirts of Rhydin. On her birth, her family was at war with another kingdom. A wizard in this kingdom cursed her giving the person who obtained her heart to eternal power and life. For this even as a baby people came to try to kill her. The King and Queen (her parents) soon figured out they couldn't keep her in court. A tower was constructed to hold her inside and in true princess fashion, she was held there until her true love came to rescue her and prove that she would be taken care of.

The Fairy Godmothers of the girls (or witches as most mortals known them) helped to construct the tower putting traps inside, beast inside to protect her and keep her company. They summoned dragons of each element one for each one of the Godmother's that was there. The fifth Godmother (who we know as Ame) decided to leave a little something different in the tower. A way for the girl to escape and come back so she could still have her rebellious freedom when needed.

Kaulir, the cultist, knew that from the start what was happening. He when the child was younger would project himself into the castle and be the Princesses play mate. Knowing full well and good what the curse was placed upon her. They could be friends and he could trick her into giving her the heart.

She wasn't the only one he was playing with. The Fairy Godmother's were over the years slowly becoming his friends. He would bring them gifts, toys, rare items and the like and even try to romance them from time to time. Each one of them being from another realm didn't seem to catch on to what he was doing. His plan in action all he needed to do was wait till the girl was strong enough for the curse to be at it's peak. Once the girl was a teenager, Kaulir took some seeds and placed them inside of the Godmothers. The plan in set and the girl coming of age he struck.

The Godmother's, all in love with Kaulir at this point, were tricked into taking a potion to put them in a trance where they did everything he wanted. With his help they came back to the Tower and start to disable the traps and put the dragons to sleep. Each one being placed into their element so they could sleep long as he needed.

It was at this time the Prince Rokan (of the local kingdom) came to the tower. He and the Princess unknown to the others had been talking for years and had planned on her escape that very night. It didn't take long for the valiant prince to see what was happening and try to come to his princesses rescue. Sadly it did not work and he way defeated.

Being a necromancer he had plans for what was happening with the Godmother's and the royals. The Godmother's were sealed by a stoning spell making them statues of their former self. From this, he would use their magic to pull from giving him the energy of the Godmothers, the Princess and the Prince in one.

Kaulir's plan went under when the final witch woke up before the statues were formed. Ame (the final fated witch) had woken from the spell seeing her sister's get turned. After sobering up quickly the woman started to flee. The seed trace spell kicked back in erasing her memories of what happened and even who Kaulir was.

Years gone by. The tower was turned into what we know it as. The cult took over and the lands started to become dark. The tower having enough of it started to fight back. Most of the cult was killed and absorbed into the place either by Kaulir himself or 'unfortunate accidents' set up by the tower.

He was the last man standing. It was at this point that the Princess and Prince (who were the 'brains' of the tower) did what they needed to be done. They went after the cultist only to have him use the porting device to jump realms. Here he hide from his misdeeds and formed another plan.

Being Ame couldn't remember who he was he decided to make contact with her. Placing her under contract she was used to set in motion to bringing the place back to life. She was given the building as part of her contract so it would fall back in love with people again.

It fought everyone. It spoiled things. It gave them nightmares. Nothing they did calmed it except for time and in that time it started to fall in love again. But sadly this meant something else - It couldn't eat the people there.. it had no way of getting back it's nutrients it needed.

Zoltar was created as a way to remedy that. It (the tower) would ask for potions, for regents to try to bring it back to health. It even would sever a hand to give it something to eat but without the ability to fully feed it was starting to dye.

The group couldn't tell this since it tried to hide the fact. The reason the rooms started to come to life so fast was it couldn't shield them anymore to take care of them. The beast was let to the humans they thought could take care of them. They were given the Yeti inside of the Health Center and even the books to try to find the cure but nothing could be done to save it.

Over time it seen the story of their members playing out. The birth of children, the love and marriage of members and even the fight. The tower lived through everyone and their passion unknown to the members inside of it. But it knew - it was time. It was going to need to start shutting down more or risk having to consume the members it loved.

This could be felt by the only member of the group responsible for it's life (Ame). One night she became so distressed (with the stain the baby was putting on her body) that her body started to reject the child. Not being able to handle it or understand it all she had ran off and jumped realms. Kaulir, the cultist, knew this and started to chase her (still unknown to Ame).

The tower started to shrink back to what it was before.. and currently she sits there starting to die. As it is the members left still around will have dreams of the tower it calling for help. Dove made a plan and in this week - that plan will come to action. Regents were collected across the land with the help of her mentor and a few others. Magic was weaved together to try to find a way to separate the ghost and couple from the building that is in their body for their soul.

Several attempts were made and none were successful. At one point it was believed to be true but the test of time proved it only weakened them enough to move the shop only to come alive again. Under the management of someone new the shop began to gain revenue again. It was renamed and repackaged under the focus of ?Bandages and Bottles? to start a new life in the new Rhydin.

Zoltar Game


Zoltar - The Game of Chance


Zoltar seemed to appear over night. Part of the wall in the main room pulled back exposing this fortune telling machine from the wall. The old thing was covered in spider webs, flakes of dried red (perhaps blood), herbs and other things. Not everything could be determined that was there. A set of rules rest in one corner of the machine. There was an area down below that had a flap able to push back (much like one of the claw prize machine). In this area they could see more remains and be able to fit their whole hand inside. Zoltar's expression will change depending on what is happening in the room and often people think he is watching them. He is not living creature he is a machine.

When approaching Zoltar they could see his hands curl around that crystal ball. His eyes seem to lock on the person standing in front of him. Glass right above the flap (payment center) darkens over and he places an image of what he needs there to start the game. Roll 1d20 to see what he needs by correlating the rolled number to the chart.

After the payment has been placed inside of Zoltar's dish he will tell your fortune. The insides of the machine dims, lights flicker and his expression changes from happy to sad, and back again. Hands waved over his crystal ball and then a ding is heard. The flap opens and they could see a small dark blue rock like egg in it's place. The egg can be opened up and a fortune will be told. To tell fortune of the machine roll a 1d20. Each egg has an effect and a fortune with it. Egg cracked to get fortune will activate the effect which will last 2 hours unless otherwise stated.



1 Fortune: When You Wish Upon a Star...
Effect: A punching glove will shoot out of nowhere. There no way to avoid. Making your character 'see stars'!

2 Fortune: You never need to know where you're going, if you know where you've been.
Effect: The character's head spin in a slow 180 degrees. Your back has becomes your front!

3 Fortune: Today is your Lucky Day!
Effect: You will shrink down to 3ft tall, your hair singed orange and your clothes dyed green. Lucky Leprechaun you are!

4 Fortune: There is a Emmy in your future!
Effect: Your character will become overly dramatic. Every moment a scene from a movie starring your character.

5 Fortune: Observe the world through rose colored glasses.
Effect: Character's eyes glaze over pink and only see the good in every situation.

6 Fortune: Why so touchy?.
Effect: Character becomes so overly sensative to touch.

7 Fortune: You want to go skydiving, rocky mountain climbing, go two point seven seconds on a bull named foo manchu.
Effect: Character is convinced they are dying.

8 Fortune: Dead, but not forgotten.
Effect: Character sees dead people who bother them a lot.

9 Fortune: Thanks for the hand.
Effect: When character reaches in for egg their egg is trapped and lobbed off. ( This is a permanent action. There is a regrowth potion with the other potions - it is painless but slow - will take 24 hours. Please send note of loss of hand to Mods.)

10 Fortune: Tell me how you really feel.
Effect: Your Character must speak the truth in their eyes, openly, no matter the situation.

11 Fortune: What's up gnomey?
Effect: Character becomes discretely stalked by a garden gnome.

12 Fortune: It taste like chicken.
Effect: Everything tastes like chicken. Except chicken, itself. That tastes like fish.

13 Fortune: I feel Pretty (oh so pretty).
Effect: Switch sex.

14 Fortune: Party in your Pants.
Effect: Character?s pockets (purse/bag/etc.) are now popular hangout spots for pocket gnomes.

15 Fortune: Keep what you Kill.
Effect: Last creature killed by Character is reanimated, and hunts the Character.

16 Fortune: Say Cheese.
Effect: Character's mouth is stuck in a permanent smile. Big, huge.

17 Fortune: High as a Kite.
Effect: Character gains insect like wings, and can fly.

18 Fortune: Just take a look; it's in a book.
Effect: Character finds a compelling but incomprehensible magical tome in their inventory they become obsessed with.

19 Fortune: It's the herpies of the craft world.
Effect: Character is now afflicted with glitter. It is everywhere. Anything it touches, incluiding your clothing.

Effect: Character has a need to use cheesy pick up lines on everyone they see.

Tentacle Monster - "Tentie" - Cheese Obsession. Two months. Many arms. Needs a cook book. Does he have eyes? Works in the Kitchen






Kitchen Brownies - Never seen (using an invisibility spell), This little Brownie is not a happy camper. She is supposed to only be a kitchen elf, but because she lost a bet she is forced to clean the whole Wolf Moon. She is over worked, and underpaid. Don't forget to leave her tip - she prefers clothing and food.






Kid Ghost - "Giggles" - MUSIC ROOM
This girl was the daughter of the man and woman who ran the music room. She was full of happiness until the time of her death. Kaulir, needing an innocence blood killed her to make her permentaly apart of the tower. This upset the man & wife of the music room and they started to revolt against him before he high tailed it off. The child at the time was only a few months old and had been aged somehow as part of the spell to an older child?



Humming Woman - (unknown) Harris

After the birth of her daughter (nick named giggles) her body never seemed to recover from the tragic lost. She thought she would see her daughter inside of the tower but knew it couldn't be since she was only a child. At times she would swear her daughter was still alive and would carry various clockwork-dolls around claiming they were her baby. She'd even suckle at them and if anyone looked it was blood and milk she produced for the child to nurse. (( On further inspection a bite mark scar could be seen on the nipple. ))

* Clockwork babies could be activated by her humming which is why he likes to hum.


Violin Playing Man - Keith Harris - MUSIC ROOM
He was brought there for his skills on the clockwork and other designs and infuses them with his second stage of powers (bard). Together he created techo-magic that has a power booster from the music he plays. Different creations he would play separate tunes for to get them to attack. It was in this that (culter) recruited him and him and his wife came to the tower to live.

After the sudden death of his daughter, his wife started to go crazy. He then started to make clockwork children / babies for her that were activated by humming.

Ballet Dancer, Maybe a doll or two, could find other things, instruments are clockwork.


Zoltar - Avatar no personality of his own. Just controlled by various people. Most of the time by the tower soul (the princess & Knight)



The Rats - Big One: "Bumble" - These monster rats are have been raised by the people of B&B. Their mother was removed from them at a young age, thanks to Coilin. Bumble, the largest of the bunch, has imprinted on the family and prefers to be noticed in the Apothecary instead of getting lost in the tower.

Cursed the woman was locked into a tower at a young age. Any man who she gave her heard to would be given eternal power and life. They could use this power to make themselves one of the most powerful if they complete a certain ritual that was found in a book.


Knight - Rokan Sixth in line for kingdom of
He fell in love with the Princess after corresponding to her through some network in some class. after exchanging a ton of letters and them both agreeing to meet (at the apple tree outside of the castle) they made plans to run away and get married. These plans were foiled by the crow's actions that night.
