Bri here could evaluate half a dozen scenarios, plan an assault, tell you 6 different probable outcomes and exact reasons for said probable outcomes, all while cooking breakfast for his beloved and pondering what kind of trouble Icer will get herself into, without batting an eye.. Yet here he is, puzzled as balls..
It took a moment for the boy to shut his mouth a bit, as the hand that held the choker slowly lowered itself. His eyes blinked once, maybe twice more as he stood there and literally stared at Jenai, his eyes holding so many questions.. With a soft voice, he asked.
"Child..? A child? Our child.. Yours and mine? A baby? We're having a-- But how? I mean whe- I mean wha--"
He stammered for a moment longer and then regained his senses somewhat, and finally shut himself up. A hand lifted, and caressed her cheek softly, as his blues softened to her lilacs. Such a loving smile was given to his beloved, as he leaned and softly pressed his lips to hers, his arms wrapping her in a warm embrace, as he simply held her closely. His arms offerng a slight tremble, as he softly squeezed her. Several kisses were planted along her flame kissed tresses and cheeks, as a soft chuckle came forth from Brian.
Slowly, his arms loosened their grip, as he lowered himself and was literally on his knees before Jenai. Blue eyes moistened from welled tears regarded the woman he loved like no other, as arms wrapped about her waist.
"I love you, Jenai.. gods above I adore you so much."
Another warm smile offered to Jenai, as he showered her stomach with kisses, and simply rested his head against it, as he spoke softly once more.
"How long? How long have you known? Have any-- gods we need to work on a new room, and get furniture... And the family, are we going to tell them yet? Jewell, Isuelt, Wyheree, Ker-- No, in time.. All in time."
A soft sigh escaped his lips, as he looked to Jen once more and just smiled, as he lifted himself to his feet and offered the softest of kisses to the lips of his beloved once more, as his hands took hers into their own.
"You have made me happier than I could ever hope to be, you have completed me in so many ways, and now we add one more way, and what a way it is.. Baby, I love you so much, and this will be wonderful. So wonderful.."
Brian would have rambled on and on, but he understood that Jenai knew exactly how he felt. Once more Brian wrapped Jenai into his arms and held her closely, as he thought to what an incredible and wonderous journey they were embarking on. A child, their child. A baby that would be born of love, and cherished to no end. A child created not of surprise, but of expectation, and intense love. A new life, and yet another beginning to add to the others, Brian and Jenai had experienced.
Happiness was truly an understatement in this regard, as Brian looked to the here and now with Jenai, and the near future Jenai and their child. Their family, not just extended. But 'their' family. What a feeling that was!
Full circle. That was the best way to explain how he felt at that moment. All he had gone through, all the pain, the loves, the hurts, the good and bad, all of it lead to this moment. When Brian had been adopted by Lord Jacyn and Lady Mari-Elena Ravenlock all those years ago, he had felt complete. Taken from one world and placed into the hands of strangers who adored and treasured him. Family. Such a completion, and after all this time, he felt it again.. And what an incredible feeling it was.
Such an incredible feeling.. Family. Their family. Suddenly the world stood still as he held Jenai in his arms.. There would no patrol, no WestEnd, no Government work, nothing tonight would take him from his beloved family.
