Note: The flashbacks are in fact old logs from 2006 and up, and if you don't get it, it's cool... She get's it, and that's what counts!
The house of Brian & Jenai Ravenlock, and of course their family... Sitting dead centre of the rather large dinner table, Jenai would find a small box-- well, I'd say about lunch box size or so... However, it was definitely not a lunch box, or a tool box, or a boom box.
It was in fact a box covered in a crimson crushed type velvet, accented by a myriad of silken azure bows. A small tag, attached as well.
It simply said 'Open me'
Jenai would recognize the writing as that of her husband, and no doubt would have opened said box, so I will save you the trouble of the rest and get right to it...
The box was in fact opened, and what followed was a most incredible scene indeed, as the entire dining room became encompassed in a light darkness, as stars-- yes stars began to appear on the walls and ceiling.
And then, furniture began to fade, and then the flooring...
Suddenly Jenai found herself atop a small hill, overlooking a small village she couldn't recognize for the life of her. Yet she found herself, comforted somehow as her eyes looked to the starry filled night sky.
And then she heard a voice, she most assuredly recognized.
?Has it been a year already?
Honestly there are times, that I swear I just can't tell...
What passes for time, when it comes to you and I, is likened to nothing I have ever experienced before in all my lives, and something I doubt I will ever experience ever again.
Then again just about everything when it comes to you, is like nothing I have ever seen, heard or felt...
Ever since that day, so many years ago when you asked me--- um, how did it go? Oh yeah, something like this...?
Morning would come soon and with that the usual Scathachian breakfast frenzy. He smiled a bit as he looked to the ceiling from his bed.
"Tommorow is yet another day.."
He may not have been betting on how early that morning would have come. The only sister that beats the sun up was starving. Garden scented feet pitter patted down the hall in a bouncing wave of red hair, only at the door they stopped as Jenjen the terrible knocked on his door.
"Brian? I'um was boiling eggs, and I burnt them." a little tiny cloud rose from the pot in her hands. black brown shells split and edgy laid stuck to it's bottom.
Not hearing a stir or peep, she sighed, she was hungrier then a poohbear. "I'll just go make some toast instead." she skipped away from the door swinging the pot as she went, she had her Patrols next!
If only you knew, how much my life truly changed with that one moment?well that, and a few others as well, such as...
Slowly, Brian made his way outside, and followed the directions to the hidden part of the garden, as Jenai had instructed. His steps slow and cautious as he carefully made his way along. His blues darting back and forth to hopefully not be seen. While it was dead quite all around him, it was a much different matter inside him. His heart was indeed racing, and it seemed loud enough he was worried he might alert someone to his presence based on that alone.
The incredible sight of a newly dawned sky caused him to pause a moment, he marveled as just how much more golden the sky truly seemed this morning, opposed to others.. Of course that may have been because of something else entirely. He continued on, his walk slow yet again, while he yet again thought back to Jenai.
Thoughts of the last few days came to mind, the talks they shared.. The laughter and fun, the glances and sometime stares. As he pondered more so, a nervousness became apparent in the pit of his stomach. He had to pause once more and shake his head to attempt to regain himself.. He could not believe after all this time, after all that had happened, that he could feel this way once more. Yet here he was, there she waited and nervousness was indeed what he truly felt. Once more he moved, swearing it took an eternity to clear the garden and near that hidden locale.
Pausing yet again, and much to his own frustration mind you, Brian sighed softly, and took one more look around. He made sure to remind himself, this was not some sordid dealing, or some back alley meet with a brigand, this was Jenai.. Someone he indeed was used to, and was fond of.. Someone who.. Well, who had just given him a wake up he would be hard pressed to ever forget. Yup.. Just like that, that nervousness kicked in.
Part of Bri told him to run and never come back, and somehow his feet wanted to as well. Still, the rest of him fought tooth and nail and the battle was quite evident if one could see the face of the normally collected Ravenlock. In the end, he remained and step by step and nervous as a seventeen year old on a first date, Brian rounded the stone and made his way towards the hammock spot.
"Stop shaking knucklehead."
That is what he heard, as he paused and looked ahead and saw Jenai rocking back and forth looking simply amazing, the glow of the sun adding to her already stunning features.. He found himself staring once more, and the nervousness subsiding.
"He's not gonna bite you. Just no Jen-isms girl!"
That brought him right back, as he found himself watching her closely, and smiled to himself. While he didn't want to bite her, the comment was understandable and was something he could relate to more than she ever knew. And while Brian had no idea what a 'Jen-ism' was, he sure knew what a Bri-moment was, and figured they might be similar in some way, and reassured himself not to have a Brian moment like on some days prior.
Watch what ya say, manners... And gods do NOT let me fall out of that hammock and or make an ass out of myself. Let us just enjoy each others company and have a great time. Please, Por favor, Onegai, S'il vous plait, and any other language I don't know.
That is what ran through his mind, and quite the mantra indeed.
Brian watched her lay back, arms extended and smiled to himself once more, his nervousness still present a bit, as he moved forward and heard the exasperated moan, and chuckled inside a moment, and noticed her eyes closed. Deftly and quietly, he slid off his shoes and crept closer to her.. Closer.. It was like he had no nervousness at all, but in truth he did.. Still he continued closer and closer... Until he was just near enough to lean over the edge of the hammock somewhat inverted, and her arm and in a bold move plant a soft near upside down kiss upon her cheek, and softly spoke as he righted himself once more and moved back a bit, while at the same time praying he wouldn't get pummeled to death by her. A warm smile on his face, his eyes full of promise.
"I see you outside.."
?I honestly thought that would have been the end of me, you know? That you would have come to your senses somehow and decide that I was far too troublesome for any sane woman. That you'd have sent me packing, and you know what-- that thought scared the absolute hell out of me, back then-- and still does today.
And then there was something that took, every bit of that and chucked it aside like no ones business... Gods the things that you did to me, and still do to this very day. What was that you ask? What caused all of that fear I felt to fade so quickly? Why this of course---?
As Rosie's hugging was all done, she was ready to leave. "You two have an excellent time... and drink lots of water... " and looks at the ham and shakes her head as she walks out of the kitchen's back door.
She watched Brian cook, it was time for country ham and eggs, and She was more then willing to plague him with questions. She made sure she was staying out of his way, while he cooked she scooted next to him. Just so she could sneak a touch. Sure it was passive aggressive.
"Brian, I wish she hadn't left."
A little pause as he worked on the ham, turning it in the skillet. A touch felt, and a smile followed, as he looked to her.
"Cause now I think I am in trouble..."
"Why"
"Because I am going to kiss you now, and I don't think I will want to stop"
Softy, "Oh.. You can if you want to--"
Leaving the food forgotten she places both hands around his face and stood on her tip toes, she had to move fast before she lost the moment and the courage, and just like that her lips pressed to his with so much warmth and fully kissed him, her heart raced as she felt a shimmer run down her spine as she dared dream the kiss to be a deep one for her first one.
And like that he was shut up in mid sentence, as he was soundly kissed. The tongs clattered to the floor, as his hands reached, one caressing her cheek with a feather light grace, the other gently placed to her side. The feeling, unlike anything ever before, as he actually felt himself tremble a bit. His eyes widened at first and slowly came to a close, as the kiss was returned with overdue interest.
Even the stew couldn't ruin this, as the rest of the world slipped away, leaving he alone with her and their kiss. The timing was incredible, he never saw it coming, like that first kiss in his room.. He was dead before it began.
She couldn't help but wrap her arms about his neck and shoulders, yes, that one foot in the air thing happened as she just didn't want to let go, she'd been holding that back for what felt like for ever, but slowly to took a breath, and pineapple scented breath was felt with his. But all good moments had to come to an end as the ham popped sharply in the skillet.
Rosie had slipped back into the backdoor, forgetting her napkins that she was going to show her prospective client, eyes widen and she tip toes around the kissing duo.
His arms wrapped about her as well, as he took in all that was Jenai. A soft sigh escaped his lips, as their lips parted ways, the scent of pineapple apparent, as he smiled and nuzzled his nose to hers gently, and as the ham popped, he looked around and saw Rosie.
He didn't care anymore, one last kiss offered to Her sweet lips.. A brief one, but one that meant a great deal in any event. Backing away a moment he smiled to Jen.
Jen, dropping quickly back flat footed she turned her attention back to the ham, clearing her throat. "Looks almost done"
Brian's smile still there as she turned, "It's done alright.."
Rosie, trying to be as quiet as a mouse, not interrupting, eyes to the ground, she sees nothing, hears nothing, napkins nabbed, she turns back towards the door.
Jenai was flushed with red and knew she would feel hot to the touch now, But looked over to Brian and couldn't help but grin back at him. " I'll get the plate."
