Later the same day that the fliers put up by the Clandestine Order of Scathach went out across town, three large trucks pulled up in front of the temple, all bearing the Batten Industries shield logo.
The first carried bedding - blankets, sleeping bags, cots and mattresses. The second carried clothing, most of it new, in a variety of sizes, clearly meant for the coming winter months - coats, pants, gloves, hats, sweaters, and the like.
The last carried food and various other sundries in bulk.
As they came to a halt and the crews began unloading the supplies, one man approached whichever of the temple's personnel came out to greet them, wordlessly handing a handwritten letter to her before going back to help the others.
To whom it may concern:
Please accept these charitable donations from my company in order to aid you in your generous outreach to the refugees from Marfa.
