Topic: Forget me not? A Forgetting Fate Tale...

Brian Ravenlock

Inside an unspecified Watch station house, within the Market District. We find a closed meeting currently in progress...

?So this is where we currently stand, Mister Ravenlock. We have the properties of the ?Jewell Ravenlock Center for Community Partnership?, ?The Sanctuary of Zi?tah healing baths and spa?, which were both seized by the Governing administration in response to the ?incident? last year.?

?An ?incident? is putting it mildly, Mister Sheonland.?

?I understand that, Mister Ravenlock, forgive us. We realize how troubling this was, and still is for you and your own.?

?No less troubling than the victims of Raven?s measures--- actually, a lot less troubling. We did not lose nearly, as many as they did? We survived.?

?Nuff o? that mess, Brian! Getting? all emo, an stuff isn?t gonna bring any o? them back is it? No, it won?t muchacho! So listen to the ?Queen o? Mithra Mayhem? here an let these advisors of yers go through their deal here, so we can grab some tacos, or somethin? cause I?m friggin? starving!?

The Mithra?s words slowly sank in, as Brian nodded softly. A hand lifted to adjust the collar of his dress shirt, and soon after his tie. The antique spectacles he was so rather fond of were slid off and set upon the table before him, as he replied. ?You?re right, I?m sorry. Please continue gentlemen, and ladies.?

?That?s better! Okay ?Jeeves? get back to the skinny, cause I got tacos on the brain, and the day ain?t getting? no faster, yeah??

Sheonland snapped to attention upon the Kerri?s food laden statement, and continued on.

?Thank you, Miss Al?Tuath?er your grace.?

?Damned straight!? piped the Mithra who stood tall with her arms crossed. A rather superiorly smug expression plastered on her face. This of course, caused Brian to facepalm?

?Mister Ravenlock, the seized properties are of course still in the hands of the current government, but I believe we can force a motion to rectify that scenario and then sell off the properties to offset the financial burden of reparations and fees, legal and otherwise. ?

Motioning for the man to continue, Brian simple listened as his eyes scanned the paperwork before him.

?There are also the transcripts we need to go over in reference to the previous three depositions regarding ?Raven?, and his associates and course what occurred prior, and since his capture.?

?Prior? You mean what happened to me in the wake of ?Scarred?, and what happened to the others, like Jade, Henrietta and Kerri here??

?Yes, Mister Ravenlock. The prosecution and independent counsels would like additional information on a few matters, within that period of time. Personally I think we should indulge them, and offer whatever they require--- to a point. Then there is the matter of the civil case, we have pending against you, in regards to ?Raven?.?

?The charges of treason were dismissed were they not??

?Yes, Mister Ravenlock they were dismissed this week. There were no true grounds to prove that the events led by ?Raven? had begun during your administrative term as a Minister for the Government of Rhy?din.?

?Alright, let?s do this then. I?d like you to draw up some paperwork in regards to the properties. Inform the administration that I will be vacating any claim to the properties, and I will be voluntarily surrendering the properties to the government and request that the properties are to be sold at fair market value. After the properties are sold, that the first consideration for the funds are to be held for those who are proven to be victims of Jacyn. Once that is settled, the remainder can be used to settle with the city for damages incurred, legal fees, etc.?

Quickly Sheonland?s assistant went to work, the young lady scribbling furiously as Brian continued on.

?That should save the government any additional costs in regards to dealing with the properties, or any legal battle with us over them, which could prove costly and take a good while to wrap up. Fiscally it is sound, as it is basically guaranteed monies for the victims and government.?

?Mister Ravenlock, that can also be used against you as an admission of--"

?Guilt, Mister Sheonland? I?m very aware of that, and I am glad as my council you are as well. However, it is the right thing to do and since nearly everything I had was seized, or tapped in the wake of this mess, it is what little I can currently do for those people.?

?There are---?

?Let?s start with that, and the scheduling of those depositions. We can discuss the other issues later tonight if that?s alright. Perhaps we can meet at the ?Bon Bon?, or something.?

Standing slowly, Brian nodded to the legal advisors, signaling the meeting had reached its conclusion.

?Mister Ravenlock, we?ll also need to speak with your wife, the Lady Ravenlock as well, we?ll need her signature in reference to any dealings with the Ravenlock Compound property, and also Zi?tah. Of course that will be at her convenience, as we know how busied her order can be.?

Reaching for his long coat, Brian turned and looked to the man questioningly. Quiet was the eldest Ravenlock, as he just stared a bit. And finally, after a few moments he spoke.

?The Lady Ravenlock--- my wife??

One could have heard a pin drop in the wake of Brian's words...

"I asked a question, Mister Sheonland... 'My wife?? Lady Ravenlock'?"

Sheonland glanced to Kerri, who in turn glanced to the assistant, who in turn glanced back her boss, as the trio then looked to Brian, who simply stood there waiting for an answer of some type. Another glance off between the trio, as nods were exchanged back and forth. Seeing this caused a somewhat annoyed expression to take hold of Brian, which then prompted Kerri to quickly interject.

?Course yer wife, dude! I know ya had like a few of them already, an all but damn! Get it together bro-ham, cause we got work to do, yeah? Sides, I know it's been a while since you and Jen saw each other, but damn son! She catches wind of this, and even I won't be able to save your absent minded @ss.?

Kerri chuckled, as she reached over and patted Brian rather soundly across the back. Sniffing a bit, the Mithra tried to detect if anything was amiss. However, she could sense nothing that was off with Brian, save his rather strange statement. Well from her external sensory check that is, that is the best she could ascertain. Looking to the pair of ?legal eagles?, who still had their eyes fixated on Brian, Kerri once more went into action.

?Yer a card alright, Brian! Man, this guy?I mean this guy right here! Look at this guy, with all this stuff comin? down six ways to Sunday, and this guy here, is yankin? chains and droppin jokes! That?s m?Brian right here, folks!?

Sheonland went to open his mouth, as Kerri quickly offered a ?STFU? glare, and one for his young assistant as well. Claws were briefly flashed adding to the measured glare as the pair instantly froze, their eyes locked on the mithra. Slowly they each nodded as Kerri flashed a rather fanged smile to the peeps, who really didn?t know what else to do, save continue the nodding.

Then...

"Mister Ravenlock, there is no rush what so ever, I assure you! So tonight in the market, at the Bon Bon right? Good, we will be there and we can pick this up. Remember we're here to do everything we can for you and yours. Of course, our retainer would want it no other way, given their vested interest in the well being of your family. So no worries at all, and we will see you tonight."

Quickly Sheonland and his assistant gathered their belongings, and took their leave with no further word. Kerri then moved to the door, taking a moment to glance down the hall, making sure the departing pair were a distance away before slamming the door shut.

?I was serious, Kerri. What are they--?

No further did Brian get, as Kerri rounded on him.

?Okay, Brian what the hell was that!? I mean really!? Right here in front of the very people who want to keep your monkey @ss outta jail for the rest of your life!? You decide to pull some sh*t like that!? Look I know there's a lot of stuff going on, an you have tried to keep Jen and the kids outta it, along with Jade and the rest, but that's no excuse for you to cut up like that with those two! Especially when you know damned well who pays their bills, and who made it possibly for us to even walk around this place, after what Jacyn did to all of us!?

Her rant seemingly ended, Kerri huffed one more time for effect and walked towards a window, taking a look outside, as a hand ran through her hair. ?Brian Ravenlock, I wonder how serious you take all of this sometimes... But then I know better than that, because I was there for everything and I'm here with you now. So I know... But this, isn't the first time you've done this. Earlier this week, you forgot the twins... Then you forgot--- Brian this isn't the first time you forgot Jen is it? You don't need to answer that, cause you talk in your sleep... And you sound so lost. I'm scared.?

Turning to Brian once more, those emerald eyes of the Mithra began to well somewhat, as she continued.

?We have all come to far to---?

?Kerri, Jenai is my wife and the twins are our girls, Aleyah and Nathressa. How could I ever forget that, willingly? Or even play like that? He just threw me off with the whole 'Lady Ravenlock' thing, an all. It's just been a long few weeks you know, and it isn't getting any shorter for any of us. I miss Jenai, and the girls. I miss our family and hell, I miss sleeping properly, too. So yeah, it's been a mess and it isn't going to be any easier. But I'm glad we are all alive, and as well as we can be. I'm glad we haven't given up, and I am glad more so, that you are here with me.?

His arms reached towards her and before he realized it, Kerri was over the table and in his arms, with her own wrapped about him tightly. ?Damn you, Ravenlock! Curse the day you walked off that airship in Bastok, and the day we knew we'd follow you to hell, and back! I love you, you know... We all do, you dumb @ss and Jenai loves you even more! She's waited, and waited for you, when everyone else wrote you off. She went after you, when no one else would, and she's waiting still. Don't make her wait, Brian. Don't you make her wait any longer, cause I swear, if you hurt her--- I'll never forgive you.?

Lifting her head to his own, her emeralds peering into his blues with no regards to the tears that freely came forth, ?I've forgiven you for so much Brian Ravenlock. Womanizing, lying, cheating, stealing, and those were the good things... I've forgiven you for Jacyn, and allowing him to live all those years back. I've forgiven you for all this mess we're all knee deep in, cause o' Jacyn...?

A hand lifted up to wipe those tears away, as the mithra's emeralds narrowed upon the man.

?But I'll never forgive you, if you hurt her again... Never.?

That said, Kerri then twirled around a few times, ?Wondeeeeer Womaaaaaaaan!?

Ceasing said twirling, she looked to Brian and offered a wink. Gone were the tears or sadness that were ever so present a moment ago. ?Alright, let's get that taco! I'm friggin' starvin with all this chick flick sh*t.?

Brian really could do nothing else...

He nodded, and went along with Kerri as the pair left the watch station. A hand lifted to his temple again, as his eyes narrowed a bit in turn. A head ache... He knew the feeling well, as they began a few short days ago, and were progressively getting more frequent in duration, slowly were gaining in strength. A shake of head, as he looked over to Kerri was busy humming the San'dorian anthem. Pausing in step, he glanced around in a rather perplexed manner. ?Kerri? Where are we??

?Wha? Are you serious dude? We're in the market, headed to the Taco Shoppe, why??

?How did we get here so fast? We were just at the Watch station, a second ago.?

?Negative 'Ghost Rider', we've been walking for the better part of 20+ minutes now.?

?20 minute-- There's no way...?

Turning to Brian, Kerri quickly gauged the man, and noted his hand again. ?Another head ache, huh? You need to get looked at, come on. We need to find someone to look at you, cause no one loses that much time. Come on, let's go what are you--- Brian??

Brian stood there, looking to Kerri... A cant of head, as his eyes narrowed somewhat, as they panned over the mithra up and down, as if--- well almost as if he had never seen a mithra before. Of course this caused a rather annoyed expression to plaster itself upon Kerri's face.

?You've seen the goods before man, so let's go Ravenlock!?

Softly a reply came, ?Who-- are you??

Brian Ravenlock

Date: 2013-03-03 11:42 EST
?What did you just say to me??

?I asked wh??

*Thwack!*

It all happened so fast, that not only did Brian not see it coming, but neither did anyone else around the pair. All they saw was a man wearing a completely surprised expression, sitting flat on his rear and the rather pissed off mithra, that was currently standing above him in a complete tirade mode.

?You bastard! Who the hell do you think I am, you insensitive--- no, scratch that! Who the hell do think you are, pulling sh*t like that!? Huh!? You know what, fine! I pour my heart out to you, and this is how you want to play your hand!? Fine! You can play around all you want, and when it all comes back to bite you in the @ss, you?ll deserve every single bit of it!?

Brian remained where he was, his eyes fixated solely on the upset mithra who was still in full swing. Not a word came from the decked man, who?s hand lifted to rub that jaw of his that still carried a hint of that fist imprint, from the afore mentioned decking.

?You better get your sh*t together, Ravenlock! Cause cross dressin? for Muffins in a sack, isn?t gonna do jack for you, dig? You got a lot of people backing you, despite the stuff Jacyn and you actin? like an @ss-hat isn?t gonna add to that number! I dunno what?s up with you, but you better take the rest of the day to get it together, and when you meet up with those legal peeps tonight get back on the same page as the rest of us, cause we sure as hell don?t need any other problems. I?ll see you tonight!?

With that, Kerri Al?Tuatha turned on her heels and rightly stormed off into the crowd of commerce that was the market. Whispers and pointing fingers followed in the wake of the mithra, as Brian slowly got to a vertical base with a slow shake head. ?Never expected her to hit me like that? Damn.?

He then went his own way, taking the occasional glance about the market as it seemed the onlookers went about their business once more. That was a good sign to him, as it seemed very little surprised the people of Rhy?din anymore when it came to smack downs in the centre of the market. Then again that could also be a bad thing, but that is a debate for another time.

After a quick pause to buy some meat on a stick aka ?street meat? (or a kabob for all you Terrans), Brian took a seat on the edge of the grand fountain in the center of the market, pondering while he ate.

?That wasn?t smart of me, playing her like that. I know it wasn?t right to do what I did, but it was the only way? I needed the time alone to try to sort what I can. She?ll forgive it somehow. Her conditioning would allow no less, despite what she says. Sides, even if I told her, the truth she would swear I was making it up, and not accept that things are getting worse and I am---forgetting things. A lot of things? Things I know should be. Maybe it?s the stress like she says, or like I keep telling myself. Maybe it?s the headaches and lack of sleep. Hell, for all I know it could be something worse. Whatever it is, it?s so bad I have to write small notes to keep everything in order? I tried to get to Jen, and the girls, but things here in the city have made it hard to do so. I?ll try Ren, or maybe Katt. See if I can find the Avenger--- what was her name?yeah, Wanda. She may be able to help somehow?I hope.?

The meat on a stick was finished as the stick was then tossed into a nearby trash can. A small note pad was pulled from his jacket, as he then began to scribble some more notes down.

?I need to make sure this is stored somewhere. Somewhere someone can find it, if I can?t recall anymore. These headaches are getting worse, and the nightmares--- it?s a mess. I?I don?t want to forget, but it feels like--- forgetting is?natural. Things I know should be, just seem?well, they don?t seem at all. Jen, the girls--- it?s like.. Well, it scares me, it scares me a lot. I need to make sure these notes and instructions are perfect---clear. So whoever has them can help me, somehow.?

More, and more did he scribble those notes. Page after page, were written down. Places, names, frequency of headaches and areas of the city he felt them more so. Dates, and more so were recorded as well. The pad was then placed in his pocket as he stood once more, and took his leave. With any luck he would find that safe place for these bread crumbs, so to speak.

That is, unless he would forget that too.
