"Momma? When will we go back to home and see Papa?"

"Very soon my little Mithling, I promise. We just have to be patient, and soon we can join him, and you can see your friends back in Elshimo once more."

"I hope so, Momma! I miss Papa and everyone else, and we've been gone for so long! I like my new friends, even if they look a little funny and don't run very fast, or bound like we do."

"Now my little one, that isn't a very nice thing to say. The Taru Taru are a noble and ancient people, and are master of magickal lore. Some would say they are the key to the future of this land, granted those uptight elves would disagree.. Granted they kept save in their comfy forested area, pissing their heritage away with a petty squable amongst the brothers who would lead them, while we the Mithra boldy set out from our homeland such a great distance away, to assist the Taru and humes in their struggle against the Blight..

Truly our bravery would outlast their opinions of the Taru on any given day my sweet Kerrithra. Your mother would stake her sword on that, my dearest. Now do mother a favor and pass me that quiver full of bodkin arrows next to you, and that coil of bow string also, will? Tha's my good girl."

Complying the young Mithling assisted her mother as requested. The quiver was lifted with a bit of difficulty, as it was nearly the same height, as Kerrithra herself. Still she gave no sign of being bothered, as she eagerly passed it along to her mother, and followed up with the coil of bow string. Pausing a moment, emerald green eyes lifted to survey the starlit sky that blanketed the Western Sarataruba region. Standing upright, Kerrithra stretched and let her eyes pan the land for a few quiet moments.

She truly did grow to like this land, but it was hardly the jungles of Kahzam, the home of the Mithra. It had been months since they had set out from home to assist the Taru, in the defense of Windhurst, their capital city. Even at her age Kerri did not understand everything that had been going on, but the one thing she did know was it was a true honor for the Mithra to set out and assist the Taru in their time of need, even if it did cause discord between various factions of the feline community. With a sense of pride, she turned to her mother.

"I'm sorry, Momma. I didn't mean to be mean. I really like the Taru! They are cute an cuddly, and really know a lot of stuff! I didn't know so much magick existed in this world! An Heaven's Tower is amazing! I know it is honorable that we are here, and I know our people fight bravely. But I wish Papa and the others were here. I know Papa misses us, Momma. But he isn't a warrior like you, Momma. An he needs to provide for those back home. So I'll be patient Momma, I promise!"

Tohya smiled proudly at her daughter with a great sense of pride welling within the Mithran Warrior. Truly her child was a treasure above all, and had a truly wonderous future in the lands as far as she was concerned. A gloved hand lifted, and caressed the young Mithran's head softly. Moving closer to Kerrithra, Tohya kissed the head of her daughter lovingly and pulled a small blanket from a nearby satchel.

"Once again you speak wonderfully my little one. Altana has blessed me above all the day she blessed me with you, I cannot wait to see you make your path in this world., such wonders you will see, and such friends you will no doubt make. For now, get some rest and we can set out in the morning. We have new orders to move upon, and will need all the rest we can get. I will join you after Harmystas and I finish our patrol."

Puffing up with pride, Kerrithra grinned ear to ear! Taking the blanket, the young Mithra leaped to her mother, enveloping her little arms with a loud purr, used only for her mother alone.

"I will Momma! I'll stay strong, and I'll do great things, you wait and see! You'll be proud of me, Momma! I'll get some rest too, I promise!"

Laying down with her blanket, Kerrithra slowly drifted off to sleep.

A few hours later..

"To Arms! To Arms! Sound the alert, it's an attack! Raise your arms for the Goddess!"

The serenity of the late evening was shattered by the sounds of battle, and cries for alarm. The deafening roar of the Orcish battle group was unmistakable, as was the defiant cry of defense from the Mithran Militia. Awaking in a start, Kerritha peered over the rim of the barricade she had been sleeping behind, as her emerald eyes widened at the spectacle before her. Mithra warriors spearheaded the effort, as Paladins joined the ranks and bolstered the fierce Mithran defense. Cries of rage and pain alike began to blend within the clang of steel, as the Orcs pressed the measure a step further, and brought in it's battle mages, for support.

Fire and ice rained down upon the Mithran camp, as the mages pressed their measure and magicks further. Still despite the destruction, and loss of numbers the Mithrans would not yield, and moments later their efforts were rewarded, as several etheral forms added to their own ranks, as Taru summoners appeared, backed with what looked to rangers, and their own battle mages joined the battle.

Scrambling to a nearby battlement, Kerri took cover. Her arms wrapped about her form, as the sounds of battle drew closer, and closer as the young Mithra cried quietly, careful not to make a sound...
