Instead of wasting most of a week searching in the cold for wherever they lived, Lain decided to go to the inn and leave the bags beneath the counter. While waiting for the water to boil for her cocoa, she snatched a bit of paper and a lone pen to scribble down a note. In sloppy handwriting it reads:

Happy late Christmas, you guys! ~

Wanted to get these to you now just because I had the ideas fresh in my head. I remember promising you guys tee shirts, and well? Here they are! Brian, yours is the one with the giant fig leaf on the front. I was thinking of having Tick make a pair of pants with it... but then decided not to. I swear it'd look fricken weird.

Jen, yours is the tank top with the white bands of ivy leaf trim across the chest. I totally thought it was you when he showed it to me.

I hope you guys like these. I had one made for Alex and myself as well. Hope to see you soon!

~ Lain

P.S. - Have either of you seen Flicker? He's gone missing since your guys' party. Any info. on him would be so appreciated. Thanks!

She tacked the note to one of the bags, making sure that they were both tucked safely away in a cupboard under the counter. And grabbing her mug of cocoa, she skittered out of the inn, flicking the till in goodbye and grinning as the cobra hissed and spat on the inside of it.

Jen had been quick to look up and down the for any sign of the gift bringer when she had taken the gift up and saw their names and having read Lain's name. A huge smile lit her face as she hurried off to find Brian and share.

Since then she'd been MORE then happy and excited to wear it! She'd been hoping to find Lain and thank her in person. But until then her mind would just have to work on a gift to thank her. Something special. She'd liked Lain right off the bat, she found her easy to talk to when they got the chance to hang out.

There were just a few type of people in this world as Jen saw it, foe, family, friends, and true friends. To her true friends were just as important as family if not more so. True Friendship would be there when family got sticky.

Jen considered Lain Family, and as things got so much better with Brian and Alex, she hoped one day to call her one of her rare true friends as well. It looked promising.
