Brian Ravenlock

It had been a while since Jenai, the girls, and Henrietta had left the compound. And Brian Ravenlock still found himself holed up in his office, as he stared at various blue prints and files that had been spread about on his desk. A hand lifted to rub softly along his temple, as spectacled blue eyes poured over the 'legal speak', that had accompanied said blue prints. How the eldest Ravenlock hated 'legal speak', but it was a necessary evil, as one would say.

In any event, the new project Brian had decided to spear head along with his siblings required a great deal of paperwork, not to mention more bureaucratic fun than one would truly want in a lifetime.. Such as politics. Still, at times he openly wondered to himself...

"I wonder if the DeAuster, or the Belarus families had to go through this much trouble.. I swear, I miss the days when we could just waltz in, and say 'mine', and we were done. Oh well.. Let's see what's next, shall we?"

Paperwork was shuffled, files shifted as he initiated a somewhat futile attempt, at one would call organization. A slow shake of his head, coupled with a soft sigh, told the eldest Ravenlock he indeed had a ways to go in that department. If only, it was as easy as his filing system for the various residents of Rhy'din, he and his family encountered, in nice and not so nice ways.

Truth be told, it was that easy, truly it was. However, it was far less interesting! So case in point, the boy only had himself to blame. Such as life, one might say, and he would readily agree. Eyes brightened a tad, as he found what he had been looking for. The file that would accompany said previously mentioned blue prints from here on out, until the projects completion.

"The Ravenlock Community Partnership Outreach Centre for Youth.... Still a bit long for a name, but for now it'll do, I suppose. I'm sure it'll fit right in alongside the rest of the aptly named centers around town. Course, it could be worse.. Could have let Kerri name it. Gods know it would be something like 'Worship mah kittay, you little filet minions' or something like that. Okay, nuff self talk, back to work."

As he had said, a Centre for Youth, an organized effort to assist those who require it, and offer an alternative to the various gangs, and 'guilds' that have begun to surface recently. And the center of it all would be the old 'Ravenlock Dojo', formerly run by Brian and Alexander, and owned by the family, their first true venture. A year back Brian and Jewell had discussed the possibility of an outreach center for new arrivals to the realm, and in the end it did not pan.

However, recently word has spread of a new effort for that same idea, and not to be one to overfill a kettle, so to speak, Brian came up with this venture and set forth to make it a reality. So here it was, laid out before him.

So back to the task ay hand, as Brian went over the detailed forms within the file itself, page by page. Building and Zoning permits, an application to re-zone. Applications to become a charitable tax exempt entity, applications to join the local chamber of commerce.. That was just the tip of the iceberg so to speak, as applications for employment had already begun to surface, and what a surprise it was. Assistance from other soon to be named organizations, had also manifested itself, in the form of promisary notes, and more. So work, the eldest Ravenlock did.

Then, it had been decided.. He had spent more than enough time at that desk for the day.. It was time rise up, and head into town. While the paperwork of the centre was important, a day with Jenai and the girls was something not to be missed. So off, Brian went.

Cheating a bit, the eldest Ravenlock 'ported' into the market, just to the east of the main gate. Spectacled blue eyes panned the expanse of the market itself, as he made his way through the gate. A salute given to some passing guardsmen, and a series of polite nods were offered to vendors, and citizens he happened to pass, as he made for the Grand Fountain. No Jenai at present, as he pondered where his beloved and children would have been heading to.

After a moment, Yotsuba's Cake Shoppe was settled upon, not just for the local, and relationship to his own Clan, but for the fact that if Jenai was not there, he could grab an iced coffee, and a bit of cake to go. And as Miho-Chan once stated, 'Cake is simply Divine, and something not to be taken lightly', or something else like that..

A change of course, sent Brian headed eastward once more, his eyes drinking in the wonderous sight that was the marketplace. Even after all this time that place was something he truly find himself lost in, as he went from stall to stall. The sound of commerce, accompanied by the various minstrels, and laughter of friends and family made it a truly unique experience like no other at times. Passing a small fountain, some coins were tossed in as he continued to make his way towards the Cake Shoppe. That was until he had heard something..

"Is this the one you want? Are you sure? We can always find another.. No? Alright then, we will have it delivered. As long it isn't as troublesome as that damned Pik-- Yes I know. So let's be off, we have much to do. It's been a long time since we've been here."

Stopping dead in his tracks, Brian's skin literally went cold, as hair stood literally on end..Turning sharply, blue eyes panned back and forth almost feverishly in the direction of the words that had cause such a reaction within the eldest Ravenlock. Commerce in full swing, and people abound did little to assist Brian in this endeavor. Growing frustrated, Brian went back towards the fountain, and leaped upon it's edge, using the height to assist him. Back and forth his eyes panned, as blue eyes narrowed, a hand lifted to shield his eyes.. Anything to help the situation, somehow!

After what seemed like an eternity, from across the market he had finally laid eyes upon what he had been looking for.. For far longer than anyone in his life would ever understand, save a select few.. Screaming to the top of his lungs, Brian leaped to the ground, and took off in a dead heated run towards--

"Midara!"
