Topic: Urgent delivery for Brian Ravenlock

Batosai

"Ensure this is given to none other than Brian Ravenlock." Batosai handed letter and the promised partial payment to the teenage elven boy, who grinned and nodded before dashing off into the alleyways. The boy was just one of many whom the predator had developed a working relationship with. The street orpans and homeless delivered information to him, acted as couriers when necessary. In return Batosai had provided payment, as well as protection from the various criminals of the streets.

The letter was contained in a simple envelope, then bound by Shih'Koh seals which would destroy the letter if anyone other than the intended recipient were to open it.

I have met with Arthour and obtained new information on Raven which I felt necessary to share with you both. This information comes to the best of Arthour's knowledge, and as such should not be considered absolute or given, but instead 'probable'.

1. Raven has developed into a fully separate entity from Crowe. Arthour is confident that killin one will not harm the other.

2. Crowe was once a trained Jedi. It is unknown if Raven has inherited any skill or ability in manipulating the Force.

3. Arthour is confident that Raven is unable to deflect or dodge a high-velocity bullet, such as from a sniper rifle. As such, I have planned to take position in a clock tower one kilometer from the docks. This tower has clear line of sight over the entire harbor, while being far enough away to avoid easy detection. I will be using a heavy anti-armor rifle from this position, and on your signal will open fire on Raven and Chesterfield. It is unlikely either target will survive the attack, however should either survive, I will be in position to cover your retreat.

Brian Ravenlock

The missive had reached Brian alright, and in a rather quick time frame along with the entourage of security, no less. The courier and his companions were tipped accordingly and then sent on their way leaving Brian with the missive in hand.

Opening the letter, Brian took a quick read of the contents.

Mentally Brian went over each point making he read correctly, as scenarios began to play out in after another.

The fact of the matter, is while Brian did trust Raven and Chesterfield to keep their word and not cause any further harm to the girl Claire, he did not trust them to make the exchange at all an easy one. That?s why he had chosen Katt as his second, because he knew the girl had an edge on Raven and one that could be exploited in a particular manner that would hopefully offer a tip of the scale in their favor, in regards to the recovery of Claire.

Aside from the popular assumptions, Brian did not want to kill Raven, or Chesterfield? Well maybe Chesterfield, but that?s on a personal level. The case at hand was a professional one--- a negotiation. Something Brian had been known for back when, and something he hoped he had the stones to still pull off, today. However, Brian?s views on dealing with Raven, and Chesterfield did differ from others and that was alright with Brian--- so long as it did not hinder he and Katt, from getting their mitts on Claire.

Claire was the primary objective. Anything else was secondary, that was all there was to it.

Quickly, Brian returned to his planning table and began to pour over the documents he had gathered, and those presented by Zack at Brian?s request. He knew the window of opportunity was becoming that much smaller, and so was the patience of Raven. However, Brian also knew as long as they had Arthour secured, Raven would not make any other moves. Not to mention it would take Chesterfield some time in regards to his own part of the exchange.

The information on the newest arrival on the ?saboteur? front, that had lit up the market place two nights past.

So they had time to secure a plan, even if that time was rapidly running short.

Maps were taken in hand, as Brian began to mark specific locals with notations?

Things such as gas lines, and sewer lines running in and throughout the dock side area, coupled with evacuation points for a quick exit on the citizen front. Schematics of the sewer system in its entirety for the area, since that was a given escape point for Raven, when it came to the market place incidents. Various points to cordon off with barriers, that would essentially cut the dock side area in half. Staging points for EMS and Public Works to set up in reference to any rapid responses. A boat or two to be readied as well, in the case that Raven actually wants to make the exchange on open water.

Other thoughts came mind as well, such as tide conditions and possible control. Any bit of weather manipulation that could be turned to their advantage. He also had reached out to some contacts within the city for a possible black or brown out in regards to power for the area. Not to mention cooperation from the local Watch, which Zack had been taking care of.

Batosai?s particular position to roost was noted, along with a few others that came to mind. Yes, this could work? They just had to cut off enough avenues for opportunity and escape. They needed to be ready for whatever may come, and then believe they aren?t ready enough because if Raven was half as clever as Brian game him credit for, like Jacyn before him there would be something else.

The possibility of being a force user gave Brian concern, but until that was truly proven it would have to be something to simply be wary of. As it stood, that would for the moment, if all went to plan?concern he and Katt only.

Not to mention, the effort of trying to lock down the docks completely for this exchange which depended on keeping this out of the hands of any real administrations. They could deal with the bureaucrats after Claire was safe and sound, and Raven had been dealt with. Well, he and Chesterfield.

In any event, it would require a great deal of effort from all those involved to pull it off, and keep the collateral damage to a minimum.

A tall order, coupled with the fact that he still had the gauntlet issue with Jacyn to deal with, and then explanations to Jenai.

Good thing, they have loads of help with this one.

Now, if they could each remain on the same page...
