Aj finished up the second room for Monsieur Alain. Her face was covered in paint, as were her hands. A smile was on her face as she backed up so she was in the middle of the room, and her almond eyes gazed around.

"Wonderful... took me a while to get two rooms... but for being sick I believe Alain deserves to have one room done free of charge." A smile to that before she got closer to the wall and studied it.

The color was an off white color, as was the ceiling. No bubbles in the paint at all. Not one. A nice even smooth paint covered the wall and the ceiling. She took pride in how well she painted the room. Looking to the floor she chuckled a little. Seeing old copies of the oracle covered in paint all over the floor. At least she didn't get any on the actual floor no?

Her hair was in two braids and she had a red bandanna on her head. A drop of paint on it, but she didn't seem to mind. Her shirt was old and red, with paint on it as well. Overalls were over top of that shirt though. Her bare sides could be seen a little, peeking out.

"Hopefully he will be satisfied with this..." She noted before cleaning up her papers on the floor and taking another glance over on the walls. "I really want to have some color in here though... maybe if Alain will allow me to I could talk him into letting me have some blues, greens, and lavenders in the various rooms." She said to herself.

Pretty soon he will have to inspect her work. Overall she thought she did an excellent job. Now it was off to find Alain!

Well trying to find Alain the first time was a waste... she spent a day or so looking for him before she simply gave up and decided to go back to her painting.

By now she had most of the rooms done. Only a couple left. She would go over all of them several times making sure everything was absolutley perfect. Aj was a perfectionist afterall. There were no bubbles and all the brush strokes were the same way. Goddess... she wanted to put some more color into the room.

"Maybe I can talk him into letting me put some more colors in here..." She said aloud to herself, studying the latest room she finished. "He needs some brightness in all this dull creamy white." Was also noted. A smile formed on her face.

She slipped a coat on over top of her overalls, the red shirt underneeth it, paired with a red bandana became her painting outfit. She did look kind of cute though.

Grabbing her helmet and gloves she figured she should wrap this up for the day and hopefully find Alain.

This particular evening, Alain was in his office. Like the last time the West End cases were hot (months ago), notes were spread all over his desk, one stack of them weighed down by a whiskey bottle, the other by an almost-empty glass. Photographs, most of them, of a burned-out building, and a copy of a report from the Guard...

He leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh, massaging the bridge of his nose. A distraction might do him some good.

She was still in that painting outfit when she got to Alain's office. Her bandana was taken off, but the braids were still there along with a nice bit of paint on her cheek. Almond eyes gazed to the window before she knocked loudly on the door.

"Monsieur Alain?" She called to him before leaning on one hip.

That red shirt she wore was indeed a tight belly shirt, but the overalls covered her stomach. Her sides though, were still exposed.

She looked like her age for once... nineteen.

While Detective D'Mourir still looked closer to thirty than twenty-one. He managed a tired grin for Adrianna at her approach, and waved her into his office. "Come on in, take a seat... How've you been, AJ?" It was good to see her looking so young. Sometimes, he thought to himself, she looked entirely too serious... too burdened.

When he opened the door she studied him closely for a moment, brushing off her overalls and giving him a bright smile. "I am doing wonderfully now ..." Was said as she stepped inside after saying. "Merci."

Walking to a chair she sat down and crossed one leg over the other, looking more like the old Aj right at this point her eyes gazed to his desk. "You look like you're busy.." Was stated plainly, but she could tell he didn't mind her being here. "Some fancy detective work... no?" Was asked.

"A little bit, yeah," he grinned. Bright blue eyes considered the whiskey... but he hesitated to pour himself a fresh double in front of her. She didn't appear to be studying the items on his desk very closely, so he made no effort to put them away. Instead, he set his elbows on the edge of his desk, fingers steepled beneath his chin. Looked pensive, but more tired than anything else.

"How's painting progressed so far?"

"The painting is going quite well Monsieur." She noted... but then looked down and twisted the bandana that stuck out of her one pocket. "I would have gotten a lot more done sooner but things came up... I apologize." Was said in a soft and quiet voice.

But she looked up to him with those soft almond eyes that showed her sincerity.

A pause as she studied him once more. "You look so tired... maybe you should learn to get more rest?" Her soft pink lips curled into a smile as she spoke.

"...It goes with the territory." He shook his head faintly. "I've been sleeping all right... I just keep really odd hours, is all." He gave an even smaller shrug, and rotated his glass slowly with one finger. "How many rooms have you completed?" Both hands withdrawn from his desk to reach into his wallet. "I can go ahead and pay you for all that right now..."

"I only have one room left Monsieur..." She noted. Her almond eyes not taking a gaze to the wallet, but simply staying on him. She studied him closely. She thought he was going to end up losing his mind if he didn't get some sleep sometimes soon.

"I don't want you to pay my until you see the rooms. It wouldn't be fair to pay for something you haven't seen yet." Her voice was still soft and quiet. Soothing... relaxed.

Alain... paused, at her soothing tone, at the intent behind it. Blue eyes lowered to the edge of the desk, and rose to her eyes again. Another pause, before he continued --

"So... I can check the rooms with you now and pay you for what you've completed so far, or we can do it when the last room is done." He leaned forward, began organizing the scattered notes, stacking them back into their respective folders. "It's your call."

Adrianna

"Well being that I only have one room left... I suppose we can simply wait until that last one is done. You pay me by what you think I deserve..." Was noted before she stood and brushed herself off... out of habbit.

"I will finish the last room tomorrow... you should get some sleep... and a secritary." Was noted with a small laugh.

She slipped her coat on. "Any last words before I run off?" Was asked.

The suggestion of a secretary made him grin a little. "None really... but I'll keep the secretary idea in mind." Another pause; an idea just occurred to him... but he'll save it for later. "Have a good one, AJ, and I'll see you tomorrow."

"I'll leave you to your work Monsieur..." Was noted before she turned to him once more with a small wave. Her almond eyes looked brightly to him.

"Take care! Good luck with whatever you seem to be doing." She almost stumbled a little, but caught herself and blushed a little. "See you tomorrow" Was noted before she slipped her coat on, and then her gloves.

With that she was out the door and on her bike in a flash.

Aj was wearing a more normal outfit today, but she was still examining this one corner in the second room she did. Her eyes narrowed at the bubble, before she would fix it.

"Perfect...." She said to herself. Her lips curled into a smile as she leaned back a little. The ladder almost fell over but she caught herself and with a slightly panicked look she glanced around... almost like someone else was there.

"That was close..." Was said before she climbed off of the ladder. Her almond eyes studied the room before she left it, walking back to the last room she finished.

The heels of her high heeled shoes tapped off of the floors of the empty building as she walked. The sun filled the room and she smiled as the warmth covered her face.

"Well I hope I did alright..." She said to herself before she walked to the corner where her coat, gloves, and helmet were sitting. She brushed off her dark blue jeans before slipping the items on and heading for the door. With one last look, before exiting the building.

Once outside she got on her bike, put the keys in, and started it. Then she was off... hopefully being able to find Alain in his office.

In less than an hour, AJ and Alain were back at the old building at the edge of the Old Temple district. Alain had a flashlight handy, but it seemed the orange sunlight streaming through the windows would suffice. He felt... out of his element, outdoors in the sunlight, and removed the Ray-Banz only once he was indoors. He made a cursory inspection of the basement on his way to the stairs, to make sure everything was in order... and glanced over his shoulder at AJ. Indicating she take the lead.

"So tell me about what you've done."

As she led him up the stairs and towards the first room she would begin to explain. "Well I did exactly what you told me to. Paint the rooms... And that I did even though I wish I could have gotten my hands on some brighter colors than the white and creams you gave me."

Looking over her shoulder at him she gave him a rather coy smile. Almond eyes studying him before she slipped her gloves off. They reached the first of the rooms and she stepped into it and walked to the middle of the room. The walls were that same cream color that Alain had bought... the painting was perfect. Her pride in her perfection could be shown in the bright smile that was playing across her face.

"I did the best I possibly could... took me a while, and I apologize but I did my best. If you like I could come back later on and add some color." Was said with a smirk as she studied him, a bit nervous at the same time.
