Because I am such a slow writer, I am getting a head start in posting the SL detailing how the Quantum Leap event will affect Bailey. I fully anticipate at my current writing pace that I will not be done with the SL until well after the event has concluded OOC. :)

Because I am horribly slow at writing and late -- I'm sending Bailey away on a little excursion (that will be posted, eventually) that will keep him out of the rooms for a while, so that I have some time to catch up on my writings.

I unfortunately don't have the time to write letters out individually, but feel free to assume that CPFoB (Close Personal Friends of Bailey) received suitably doomed-sounding "farewell" letters from him. Feel free to do with that what you will!

I've packed, driven cross-country, unpacked, settled in, started my new job, and gotten somewhat in a position where I should be around a little more. Trying to ease back in here.

This had me giggling big time. I'm glad to see the baby kraken is enjoying its new home!

Bailey does like to wear bodypaint and special make-up for important duels -- blame that idea on pro wrestler Finn Balor and the "Demon King" get-up he dons for important wrestling bouts :) I wanted to share with you one of the main sources for the body paint ideas Bailey has used on a couple of occasions -- Georgina Ryland. She does all kinds of really cool stuff, and I've used her ideas as inspiration for Bailey's make-up when fighting in the Archmage tourney earlier this year, and his "outfit" for the Spooktacular Costume Dueling 2016 (and many thanks to Lacey for picking Bailey as the costume winner! I was pleasantly surprised by that). So yeah, just wanted to let you know I'm totally borrowing someone else's creativity for my own, and you should totally check that person's web site out!

Yes! (Forgive me, I have been super-bad about keeping up with the forums)

I've had this rattling in my head for a while now, but I'm not getting any younger and life's not getting less crazier, so I'm going to spit it out right now and hope it comes out clear.

I'm very late on this, but I wanted to say thanks for all the dueling stuff I was involved with at the end of last year (and in 2016 in general), and say sorry that I wasn't able to do more interesting stuff while I was Archmage. I wasn't around much then, and I haven't been around much (or at all, I guess, really) lately, and it's nothing to do with any dissatisfaction with RDI/RoH.

You might have noticed my posting frequency slowed down dramatically last spring, around March/April/May. That was because I took a new job that required a cross country move, and then had an adjustment period to said job. Said job also required a lot more computer time than my previous one, which meant I wasn't much in the mood to jump on the computer when I got off work, and there was less free time to work on posts while I was at work.

What I haven't talked about as much here is the fact that the job hasn't worked out the way I hoped it would. As it turned out, the position level/pay level they offered me initially was offered to me by mistake, so I had to wait six months to get that position/pay bump. In the mean time, that was six months of work making less than I made at my previous job in a place that was MORE expensive to live. After about eight months in the position, I've also realized it's not for me -- there's a lot of factors that come into a decision like that, which I won't go over one-by-one, but I will say that I've realized I need a position that's more social than this one is. The final kicker is that I realized I would be much happier living closer to friends/family -- the move isolated me a great deal, and I don't think I realized how that would affect me until it sank in.

The TL;DR of that is that SL-wise, I've set Bailey aside until I can get my you-know-what together. IC, as of January 20, Bailey is back in RhyDin but in a coma at Rhy'din Medical Center. If time permits, I will be writing/posting the posts to get him up to that moment (and the backlog of posts from last year). I'm hoping to have new work lined up ASAP, or have moved back closer to home sometime this summer.

Thanks for understanding, and I hope to see/play with you all sooner rather than later.

1. I ended up declaring the message board equivalent of e-mail bankruptcy and freely admitting I have fallen way too far behind to catch up on all the posts I've missed in the past few months. Anyone have a TL;DR RhyDin summary for me?

2. It's not great, but I finally just decided to write the next bit of Bailey's off-world SL (actually getting him off-world and posted it. On to the next one, hopefully faster, but no promises.

First real post (that I didn't set aside months ago and then jump back on) in a long, long time. I'm actually trying to go all the way back to the Leap Year SL I started and abandoned last year, and give it a proper wrap, before I move on to the next SL that I started and abandoned. Of course, I only had broad strokes in mind when I had started that, so I'm not sure if what I'm writing will line up with how Bailey's been behaving in the last year or so. I can barely remember what the plan was in the first place!

It's been a long time since I've had to write a fight scene, and they're hard enough in the best of circumstances, so cut me some slack if it's not the cleanest post in the world to read. :P

Bailey's back! Sort of -- he's awake and out of his coma, but he's not advertising that fact for reasons that will become clear once I get through the amazing backlog of stories and posts that I have. Feel free to recognize him if he's out and about and you think there's a good reason to, but keep in mind he'll be making some effort (glamour and otherwise) not to be recognizable as himself.

Some food for thought while I struggle to balance job applications, work, and my creativity.
