"I'll call ya' when I get there." Slender yet worked digits curled about extended handle as she took hold of her rolling suitcase. Her departing words had been to the rather sleepy looking blonde on the couch. Words, followed by a smile and a wave, would be Terry's goodbye as she left through the front door.

The smell of early morning spring met her as she stepped outside. The suns warm rays peeking through the clouds while chilly remnants of winter in the form of light gusts of wind brushed against her skin. Spring is enjoyable, the perfect mixture of elements between Winter and Summer. The start of the day had been a pleasant one; which in turn brought good spirits to Terry. She felt tired, but lack of sleep didn't matter. She could catch a few hours later; after returning to the set. Much of her night had been spent enjoying time with her friends, something she hadn't been able to do much of since she began shooting the film.

Down the hall she'd walk. A corner turned and a wall hugged as she moved past a rather busy looking family -- a mother looking annoyed while two school-aged children followed after with triumphant looks on their faces. Terry gave a small wiggle of her fingers toward the smallest of the bunch, a young boy who turned to look her way as she passed.

The elevator was empty when she stepped inside. The light chime of elevator music giving her easy going morning its own background tune. The teen snorted back some while taking an easy rest against the farthest wall of the elevator. The apartment she shared with Peaches is on the tenth floor; so there was a ways to go as the elevator continued its slow descent .

9, 8 ?

A buzz of her phone drew her attention. Unlocking the screen came after a quick stroke of the touch screen with a well placed thumb to input a password. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to turn her phone on mute the whole night. Alerts, many of them. Missed texts. An unsure look crossed her face ? did something happen at school? She recognized many of the names of her classmates. It was the last text, the one that caused her to pull phone free from her pocket, that worried her.

It was from Alex.

7 ?

Text from Alex - 7:34 AM
Terry answer your phone

Text from Alex - 7:40 AM
are you okay?

6, 5, 4 ?

Terry, full of confusion, swiped the screen to bring up another conversation. Maybe this one would help her understand what was possibly going on.

It was then that she saw it.

Clarice killed herself what the ****

Terry's eyes grew wide. Her now shaken finger swiped at the screen once more. This can't be happening, she thought.

Text from Misty - 7:21 AM
Is this a joke? Is Clarice really dead?

3, 2, 1 ? DING

The final floor. The doors of the elevator opened to a couple standing outside. Inside they would find Terry sitting against the wall in a fetal position. Crying, her face buried against crossed arms.

"Hey," He sounded worried. "Are you okay?" The young man looked back to his girlfriend with concern, yet that would be when he felt Terry push against and past his form in a quick sprint.

She left her bag behind. She left her phone there on the elevator floor. Run.. Run, it's all that came to mind. Run. Keep running. Her Adidas slammed against the ground with each pump of her leg as she did what her brain thought was the best answer. Run.

She ran past the doorman. She ran down the block. The corner turned, a small crowd waiting for a bus passed as she continued to run with no end in sight.

Keep running.

Shine bright morning light
Now in the air the spring is coming
Sweet blowing wind
Singing down the hills and valleys
Keep your eyes on me
Now we're on the edge of hell
Dear my love, sweet morning light
Wait for me, you've gone much farther, too far

"You're still a hundred years too early to to even think about the possibility of beating me."

She could still hear Clarice say that. Terry's younger self sat there on scraped knees while blood dripped from her broken nose. It had been her, Clarice Queen, who stood in the way and stopped the one sided pummeling Terry had received from an older student.

Fourteen years old. That's how old she was when she first saw Clarice Queen. Before then -- rumors. Yet now the most wealthy girl of St. Mary's Catholic School for Girls stood in front of her; protecting her.

It had been Clarice who offered her a hand up, one which Terry took after a moment of hesitation.

That smile. She'd never forget that day...

But now that smile is gone.

Terry ran. She couldn't stop herself. She didn't know how long she had been running. All she knew is that her legs were aching in pain, but that wouldn't stop her. She'd continue running; even with the city behind her. Paved roads turned into dirt trails and skyscrapers and concrete turned to farmland.

Run. Keep running. She'd tell herself while tired breaths left from her lips.

Terry lost her footing then. Gravity, as cruel as ever, brought her to the dirty road without even a trace of kindness.

The only strength she could muster was enough to force herself to roll on her back. The cool air of spring washing over her while she looked up to the sky above.

She choked then. Her eyes welling up once more with tears. Out here, alone. She could cry as loud as she wanted to.
