The heavy wooden door hit the wall with a bang as Maria entered her room throwing her jacket with a vengeance at the empty bed. The cleaners had been in, her journal still securely closed was where she had left it untouched, the bed was made and the carpets cleaned with a diligence born of a high priced suit. But still her anger grew, how dare they intrude on her privacy, even if it was to remake the bed.

She viciously slammed the door locking it behind her before she stalked across the room. It wasn't really the cleaners she was mad at, its was that damned Lucy and her need to show loyalty in the inn. It ate at her like a deadly illness, chewing away at her heart and reminding her of all she had lost in the last few months. She was tired, and people had drawn out words of anger from her that really were a bit out of character for her.

Maria wasn't even sure which ones she meant, she loved children with all her heart, but she hated Tara and everything associated with her. Maria growled as she pulled off her shirt and skirt dropping them onto the bed, pausing to look at herself in the mirror, her shoulder still held a slight scar from the fight with Ayreg, but it had healed well enough. She quickly shed her lace bar and thong and headed for the shower, turning on the water hot enough to steam the small room.

Yes she was mad, but not for the reasons people thought she was, no she was mad because she was still in love with him and he had sent her away, discarded her like she was nothing more then his morning trash. Maria stepped under the spray of water and leaned against the wall, she was so confused, so upset, what she needed was someone to talk to, anyone at this point that she trusted, problem was she trusted no one.

Ducking under the water completely she started to clean herself up with the diligence she always did before she slipped from the shower and tugging a thick towel around her she headed back into the common room, reaching for her trunk she popped the lid and pulled out a few things before kneeling on the floor, letting her towel spill around her hips as she started to work.

There was nothing left, or nothing for herself, she drew the small pot towards her, pouring the contents slowly into the mug before rising the tiny porcelain mug between delicate fragile fingers. She padded silently across her room as she sipped the drink. Had she truly lost it all?

She paused at the window of her room looking out over Rhy-Din, not concerned of her state of undress. She had shown herself to so many, why not a few more. She mused to herself that she had fought so long for her freedom, and now that she had it, she detested it, like a sour flavor on the tip of her tongue that just would not leave her.

With a soft snort she set her mug on the dressing table stand and moved away from the window to the full length mirror that adorned one corner of her room, kiddy cornered to take up less space yet keep the flow of curves with in the set up of bed and dresser and nightstand and footlocker.

She pushed the lace cover from the mirror and looked at herself, presented in all of her glory, dark brown eyes haunted by the past and wearied by all prospects of the future, her dark hair spilling down over her back and straight shoulders to cover those plump rounded breasts that men seemed to find so appealing. Her cream skin giving way to dark round perfectly pert nipples that appeared to stand at ridged attention and made her breasts look all the more youthful.

Her curves continued, from breast to her trim flat stomach, perfect abs, rounded hips that had yet to feel the weight of child baring, and she doubted they ever would. The smooth skin that nestled between her legs, no mark or hair to be seen, perfectly smooth and clean with just a hint of the skin hidden within the folds, inviting her own fingers to stray if only for a second to that soft delicate place before moving over one hip bone and down a smooth delicate thigh, that met with her shapely calf and finally ended in a delicate and perfectly balanced foot.

It wasn't a wonder men had sought after her, and how she hated herself for it. Turning from the mirror with an angry snarl she allowed the lace to fall back into place before crossing the room to her cup and once more glanced out the window before heading across to her bed to the clothing laying out on its covers, her fingers dancing amongst the fabrics, she would have to chose what to wear. With Rhy-Din's heat, and her own wants and needs, she immediately discarded anything with weight or substance.

Maria's hands trembled, her heart in her throat, her vision blurred a second before she threw the paper from her hands. A cry of agony and dispair ripped from her throat as she fell to her knees and sobbed. The paper, the newest Oracle fluttered tot he floor, the front page artical announcing the death of the man she had loved so dearly.

Tears of rage and fear and sorrow streamed down her cream cheeks, falling into her hands as she lowered her face into them, hiding herself from the world as she pulled her knees to her chest and for the moment closed the world to just herself and her pain. Her sobs shaking her whole body as she leaned against her clothing chest and wrapped her arms around her knees and cried. Just her and her pain, the shadow of the man who had so dominated her life for such a short time.
