Lillianna turned at Mary?s arrival, she loved the obvious grace and speed that the vampires had inherited, it truly was a beautiful and useful thing. Mary smiled at her, her eyes were a sparkling dark blue-green today, and said ?I?m so pleased you came to call on me. We have a high level of security, as we believe one can never be too cautious, so you?ll have to come in through the side entrance.? She offered her arm to Lillianna, just as a gentleman or close friend would.
She smiled as she took Mary?s offered arm and walked with her toward a warehouse that stood next door, ?I would agree, you can never have enough security.?
She looked around herself as Mary typed in a code on a little keypad situated among many strange looking devices next to the door, she wondered what the other things were for, but did not feel that now was the time to ask. The door opened and they entered what looked like an elevator with a set of doors both in the front and the back. Mary began to explain about the Bonny Corporation ?Me and my former partner, the Lady Anne Bonny, began this business back on earth a few centuries ago.?
The door at the back of the elevator opened up to reveal a hallway inside the office building. Waiting in line on the sides were their blood slaves. Exotic women of all colors and forms of beauty standing still and silent despite the excitement they had when they knew they may be about to be of service. Their hearts beating swiftly as they displayed themselves in their scantily clad outfits. The smell of their blood was very strong, and almost intoxicating.
Mary indicated them with a casual wave of the hand. ?In case you desire something fresh you may have one, or all, if you like.? Mary paused to give a chance for Lillianna to pick any. She felt the temptation, but at the moment her curiosity was stronger than her desire for pleasure, or blood. She inclined her head and smiled appreciatively, ?I will keep that in mind, maybe later I will find one among them,? she said ?right now I am very interested in learning more about you and the Bonny Corporation, if it is not too impertinent of me to inquire.?
They entered a large conference room adorned by leather couches and tables lined with many forms of drink, including one devoted entirely to bottles of different forms of blood. Mary lifted one and poured two glasses with a smile. ?The aged blood of an alcoholic who drank only fine Bourbon. I made sure we had some on hand for you.? Said with a quick wink as she offered the drink to her.
Lillianna took the drink with a smile, ?I appreciate your hospitality,? she said ?this is a very pleasant surprise, one that I did not expect to find any time soon.? She turned to survey the room and noticed that there were other tables lined with drugs of all kinds and devices for using them. Including a Hookah that appeared out of place such a classy atmosphere. It was a skull with a jester?s hat. She looked at it interestedly. The necromancer recognized that it was a representation of the voodoo Lord of the Dead, whose name was never to be spoken. ?We refer to it as the Kindly Baron as a term of respect, also what we refer to the one it represents.?
She sipped the glass of blood in silence as she looked around, this was a place that she could approve of. She was startled out of her thoughts by Mary?s voice as she spoke again, ?I can give you a tour of the place later but I thought we should sit and talk a moment. We have not had a real chance to get to know each other yet and now we are within the safest walls in all of Rhy?Din, perhaps we can speak more openly.?
They moved to a couch off to the side, and Lillianna sank gratefully into the soft cushions, though the comforts, meant to put one at ease, made her a little more on edge and she pulled the spirits, still invisible, closer to herself.
?I know I do go on when I get excited?. Please, tell me a little about yourself.? Mary opened her magic to listen to Lillianna?s blood.
Where to begin? Lillianna thought with a wry smile, the whole truth would not do, not yet.
?I have very recently moved here to Rhy?Din, actually the night before I met you,? she began, ?there really is not much of my life before that is worth telling.? For a second a vision of a pair of grey eyes shining with power and love broke through her thoughts before she could hide them, and with them came such a feeling of sadness and loss, and yet of freedom and purpose all at once. She straightened her shoulders and spoke again. ?I grew tired of my old life and had heard much of this city of Vampires and thought that this would be the best place for me to start a new one.?
?I am very interested in you and the Bonny Corporation though,? she continued, ?What exactly is it that you do here? Besides be the most welcoming place that I have ever visited. Your story has to more interesting than mine.?
