Mei Mei had been a slave... and a student of Mary?s. One thing she had learned was to never stop moving. An object in motion is more likely to stay in motion, while an object at rest will more than likely stay at rest. The momentum factor? It?s harder to start moving than it is to keep going. So that?s what she had done.

Another thing she had done was take advantage of the information intercepted by The Bonny Corporation done by the doctor who had ?experimented? on one of their employees. It was a good thing they had the information and no one else. Sandrine Davenport? Mei Mei sat at her desk reviewing the file for the hundredth time since it came into her hands.

The doctor had been trying to cure cancer? But the applications could be used for just about anything if one knew what to do with it. Mei Mei really needed help though? She had learned a lot in her years of isolation but there was still so much she didn?t understand. There would need to be testing done before her ideas could be marketed.

She sighed and closed her eyes a moment. If only they still had their scientist, Brandon. He was brilliant? Mei Mei would have to handle things herself from now on. If she needed help she would have to get it. Being freed and also in charge left her all kinds of choices and decisions. As manager it was now up to her which direction the company would be heading.

So she started with this one? Locating another genius of their lost scientist?s caliber was unlikely? First she would try all she could to bring Brandon Lee Morgan back.

After taking the initiative to go out into the city I found a number of nice and interesting people. Although I found particular interest in a special few of them - even offered my card to a woman of great promise.

A beautiful and powerful "dualist" by the name of Rhiannon. Though everyone calls her Rhi, apparently in effort to distinguish her from a sister of the same name? At any rate she has a warriors spirit and can see her filling many important roles here. My instincts also tell me she is a good person and seems very intelligent. I hope she will respond as she is my first choice - she is of a caliber that I believe should be upheld in The Bonny Corporation.

The other seems to be a love interest of hers by the name Eregor. He seems to have an understanding of the links between magic and science that few seem to be able to comprehend. I need to observe more but he may even have a mind capable of rivaling our last scientist/ideas man. The only job ever really filled by a man in this company. I am not sure he has any interest or if he has the ambition but perhaps when I learn more I will know if I should approach him.

And one last person of interest - appears to be new in Rhy'Din. A Mr. Daniel Jackson who seems to be some type of scientist though I know not what is his specialty. His drive for knowledge and understanding though would be valued and useful here. He seeks libraries and museums and perhaps once he has better associated himself with this place he will find own treasure trove of data intriguing. Perhaps I can even invent a new job category for him since he is so interested in multiple worlds and races.... Cross Cultural Relations Expert. That is something so important I am surprised no one thought of it before.

Mei Mei leaned back in her chair, setting her pen down. Looking over her notes thus far. Well it was a start at least. She would be returning today to see what else was out there.

She was keenly aware of how precarious her position at the moment. A human in charge of the business was just the type of revolutionary change only Mary would have implemented. She added one last note on that thought:

The blood slaves have been trained in basic defense but I have begun to up their training. They may be only human but that doesn't mean they need be helpless. No one will expect them to be as capable as I can teach them to be.

With that she closed her note book. Smoothed out her leather outfit, it was her favorite and she wore it most of the time now. Just like Ms. Read she had found something good for fighting in that she liked. So as Mary had done she had a number in the closet. In some ways she imitated her former mistress perfectly... Yet in others they were so different.

Where would she take this company now? She wondered, she asked herself that again and again. She could only guess that would have a lot to do with the strong minds and bodies she could gather to her. A task only just beginning.

Mary has approved my choice of Calix to be our new partner. It seems their meeting went well and she gave him full security clearance. Cal is already doing excellent, getting involved and associating himself with our files. Not to mention adding to our security, which I would have personally thought impossible. He seems to have some project of him own that he has yet to share with me but I am confident in him and whatever it is he has in mind.

As a side note the slaves are all very excited to have Cal around. Though he has yet to partake in them, they are working all the harder now. Their drive to excel in the arts I am striving to teach them has helped them all to move forward faster than expected.

Mei Mei paused then, reflecting as her finger tips moved idly to her neck where Cal had fed from her. It had been the first time for her as Mary had made sure she was kept pure from all things. Especially the temptations that surrounded her in this business.

When Mary had looked into her mind to see this vampire, Cal, through her eyes she had tried not to think of the less than business like events that had passed... But she knew Mary had seen all. The more one tries to keep something from coming to mind the more it moves to the forefront of your thoughts. Something to work on, she made note to herself.

But she had been very worried when setting up the meeting of Mary's intention. Apparently Mary had maintained her cool and things had gone well. She couldn't help but be pleased with herself that Mary had approved her choice. It was one of the most important positions and Mary's confidence in her judgement made her feel all the more confident in herself.

Mary says I am doing well and that I should keep on with my research and development of cures for diseases and vaccines. That she believes not only is there money to be made but many lives to be saved. We can help many people improve our public image at once.

However, I need a scientist before I can continue with production. I need someone who can check my work. To help me preform tests to be sure that they are safe and effective.

I have failed to locate Brandon and I must find someone who is capable of doing what we need. This is my first priority at the moment so that I can really get things up and running. There are still many other roles to be filled but I have hope that I will have enough time to locate some of the others.

She frowned a little at that. Mary loved the family they had created and Mei Mei herself, though she hadn't spoken much to any of them, was very fond of them as well. If they were still around she knew she had to find them... In the mean time though bringing new blood into the business would bring it new life. This was also important, evolution is the key to survival.

My search will continue. Finding reliable people that can be trusted with our company, our family, is a task that may take some time. I shall look until I find the best of the best.

No word yet from Rhi, perhaps she is not interested. Hopefully she will come around soon.

I was a little surprised to find that Calix has chosen to employ Rose Black. Not that the company didn't have their eye on her for a long time but she was not considered a real candidate due to many conflicts of interest... And personality issues.

First off there was the whole Bob thing, apparently she was his incubator for a child. Beyond that we don't know the nature of their relationship but it seemed best to stay out of it. Now I suppose that isn't an issue. Him and the child left long ago.

But there is still the matter of her being "unstable" and "unpredictable" as well as being prone to episodes of binge drinking. It was all in the file. Last we knew she had turned herself into a rose bush and was in the cemetery... For years she stayed that way.

What Calix did to get her out and to agree to work with him I know not. I know I should trust his judgement here. She is a strong and powerful woman so she should fit in alright....

She threw the pen down in frustration. What was Cal doing? Mei Mei had promised to find him a suitable woman but Rose Black? The truth, she had to admit to herself, was that she also was experiencing jealousy.

Rose was beautiful and powerful. But she was also a free spirit who was able to do whatever she wanted in a way Mei Mei had never known in her whole life. And now she was with Calix... Mei Mei could only speculate what that meant.
