Madame Delfoart showed up to the offices in a hurry - unusual, for her. She walked into the conference room where Anne and Mary were going over finance reports in low voices. She slammed her hands on the table. It got their attention.

She cut right to the point. "Lord Travanix is dead. Romax Pol, too." She looked from one woman to the other. "Both of them cut down in the Marketplace. I think that Travanix' apprentice - Kytrina, was it? - is still alive."

She sat down heavily. "God only knows what this means in terms of the Corporation. Without support from Travanix' people, we could be in jeopardy as far as our supplies of non-Asian slaves. We also won't have the income from trading him the occasional Chinese girl or Gaijin prostitute."

She sighed, showing how disturbed she really was. "Our first concern should be the two who took them out. Jedi, by all reports - or is it Jedis for two of them? We should try and find out as soon as possible whether this was a personal attack on Travanix, or whether these are crusaders against slavery. If it's the latter, Club Babylon - and our Corporation - are likely to be the next targets."

She finished simply by asking, "So, ladies... what's our battle plan?"

Calico was more distraught than usual. She wandered through the hallways of the Corporation offices, weeping and tearing her hair out and trying to gnash her teeth. "WAaaAAaaAAhhhh!" she bawled like a kid with a cut knee.

Mary came out of one of the conference rooms. "What's wrong?" her mother asked cautiously.

"Romaxian is dead," sobbed Cally. "Romaxian Pol!"

"Um, do you mean Romax?" asked Mary. "How did you hear?"

"Everyone knows! He's dead!" Cally wailed. "I loved him so much, and now he's dead! Everyone I've ever loved is dead! You're dead, Mommy! And my first Mommy is dead, and my Daddy is dead, and now Romaxian is dead! Everyone I love dies!!"

She thought a minute, and added, "Um, and everyone I hate tends to die too. Like that time I turned that @$$hole Gabe into a cabbage and had Chinese people eat him. So... everyone I feel strongly about in any way dies! The only solution is to become emotionless, like a cockroach... or like Senor Gallo.... But I cannot give up my sadness!"

Mary just held Calico, saying, "There, there. There, there." Calico remembered something from her past, and asked Mary feverishly, "Do you know who my husband is? Because... I think I really need him right now."

::Hurried steps... a door abruptly opening .,... the loud smack of flesh upon the table... These were things that got Cadence's attention. She opened her own door and peered down the hallway, hearing the voices clearly through the still opened conference door that Kiki didn't shut in her haste::

::Cadence stepped out of her office and flew down part of the way slowly, hearing everything that Kiki had just said to them::

::Cadence knew who Travanix was. He was that cold guy in the Inn. He was in one of her visions showing his death. And as she thought about it carefully, she realized she'd had more then just one vision of him. He was the one who, in her vision, had walked up to the corp as if he owned it. She now interpreted that vision as some kind of influence he held on Bonnie Corp as if he had some kind of controlling interest. If he did or not, she didn't know, but the influence was similarly powerful. Perhaps he did have that much influence, or perhaps this was where things were headed according to her vision. That's what came to her mind::

::And he was more then likely the one in her other vision, the one who issued the order to take the children from Ravensheart Academy, too. She was almost completely sure of it now because the man in both of those visions was wearing the same thing as Travanix was in her vision of his death, and carried himself in the same manner. It had to have been him.::

::She hesitated a few feet from the doorway with eyes wide as saucers, remembering something Bob had told her... and started to quickly put two and two together. She didn't like where her thoughts were going, didn't want to hear any more. She quickly turned around and moved back to her office, shutting the door quietly behind her and moved back into her little domain. She needed to think::

Alana came strolling in as everyone was up in arms about all of this. Her face was stone cool about it though because really it wasnt anything anyone should have been overly concerened about. Both hands were put in the air to stop everyone from there chitter and Alanas cool voice was heard loud and clear.

"I am not sure why everyone is getting so upset over this there is no need. Travanix and his friend are far too important to be left to rest in peace. I am sure someone is already on it making sure that this mess is all taken care of. Getting frantic and hot headed about it will serve to do nothing but give you all an ulcer."

She took a deep breath in through her nose and gently let it out of her mouth. Alana was being very calm for once. Perhaps working for such a peaceful man was begining to make her a little bit batty. She was always a take action kinda woman.

"Now has anyone asked Bob about all of this? Because if anyone can get in and find out what is going on it will be him. And if you find him can you please tell him I have been looking for him...Smoke and mirrors that man is...Smoke and mirrors."

She brought Cali a cup of water and smiled gently to her the nodded to mary, then Anne, and of course the lovely KiKi before stepping out to find brandon who was no doubt being very smart and inventive but not really that entertaining...So much for job exceitment.

Kiki cocked her head a moment, listening to something that no one else could hear.

"Hmm?" she said, and kept listening. Then she smiled grimly. "Ladies, I'm sorry I disturbed you. Those boys don't be dead... or more accurate, they got ways of getting around that. We be seeing them very soon. And then whatever enemies they got... they'll be the ones in trouble."

She nodded. "Best stay out of it. Huh, well now I know not to worry on their accounts. Men who don't stay dead don't got much to worry them." She slapped her palms together, symbolically dusting her hands of the matter. "And now I think we all got work to do." She looked around. "Where's Cadence? I wanted to talk to her before I left dimension on that little errand." Really, she had invented an excuse to speak to Cadence. Jacques had spotted her - his gaze went through walls - and reported that she looked troubled.

Kiki headed towards her office to see what was on their Spiritual Advisor's mind, and whether it meant bad juju for her upcoming trip. Kiki, the necromancer, knew that spirits and omens were denied at one's own peril.

::It was true... Jacques had seen Cadence looking quite upset, disturbed, nearly frantic almost like the expression people get when they've been stabbed in the back, or shoved backwards into a sword. Cadence was still feeling the proverbial cut from her own fears::

::While Jacques had seen her step back into her office, he would've likewise seen her disappear through a doorway that had opened with the motion of her hand right after she'd gotten into her office. The moment the door shut, she was gone from her office to a place not even Jacques could see, unless he could peer into other realms, but Bob had assured her no one could get into, see into, hear into, know into this place. He'd made it for her. This was her domain::

::Even so, Cadence heard the knock on her office door and took a moment to compose herself. Her small feet moved to her door and opened it up, simoultaneously, the office door opened. What Kiki saw inside as the office door opened, wasn't the office at all... it appeared to be some kind of quarters with a small kitchenette and table, a fireplace to the side... bedroom and lavoratory partitioned at the end of the room with a darkened cavern tunnel leading to somewhere else through the far corner. I sure wasn't the Spiritual Advisor's office in there::

::Cadence put on a masked smile, not out of trying to be impolite or dislike of who was at her door ... she really liked Kiki... but it was to mask her feelings of what upset her in the hall::

Well this is a nice surprise. Hello Kiki. How are yous? Come on in. I was just thinking about taking a mudbath.

::which wasn't far from the truth. They were soothing and she was just thinking about doing something to ease her tensions. She remember Kiki had seemed upset not too long ago, too, and maybe she might want to relax::

;:It just kinda hit her then that it didn't matter the reasons were somewhat from opposite ends, it mattered that she could help ease things a bit now. Her pretty blues warmed genuinely and the masked smile melted to an honest one. Her brows even perked a bit. It wasn't often, more like never, that anyone in the corp actually came to her office to see her::
