Topic: Faye sure knows how to spend a Fall afternoon together

Faye Valentine

Date: 2007-11-03 15:56 EST
Faye arrived in style, as always. Her presence first being announced by the roar of the beautiful beast of a black convertible that had been a gift to her - car which had numerous capabilities. It was currently driving itself; she still sat in the drivers seat with her pistol in hand. She normally liked to steer the vehicle on her own, but sometimes took the pleasure of being able to lean back and relax.

She had taken to wearing her jacket as it was getting a bit chilly out. But it was beautiful and sunny this day. In the seat next to her, where she was keeping a careful eye on him, sat Wolvinator in handcuffs.

?Come on, cheer up. Isn't it lovely weather were having? Why if it weren?t so unseasonably warm I might not be in these almost indecently short, but oh so stylish shorts. Now that would be a real shame wouldn?t it?"

Faye was clearly in a good mood, as she always was when she was working. It wasn?t that she hadn?t enjoyed her time off, spending long days with Lucy. It had been a contenting life for her with lots of joyful moments, and training the kitty was proving to be very productive. In spending her time with her pet she was also sort of finding herself again. But it was still nice to be about out and about doing things, she wasn't the type to sit still for long. She may have blown all her money for the job on the lottery again, but she was now only steps away from a new tiara.

Upon arriving at the agreed meeting place she set her free left hand on the side of her door and leapt over it. She skipped around to the passenger side, and after opening the door politely for Wolv, she motioned with her gun for him to get out of the car.

They were at some sort of abandoned but well cared for empty building not far from the main office of the Bonny Corporation. This was where Faye had gone to be escorted into the office building previously, and after Wolv had gotten out she motioned for him to go in front of her, inside. She kept her gun aimed on him as they walked.

Wolvinator

A black boot stepped out of the car and hit the graveled dirt beneath the vehicle and paused for a moment before being followed by a second boot slamming down. The dust kicked up from the motion was swiftly carried away on the passing wind, slipping through the slender frame of Faye Valentine and dispersing towards the abandoned location that she had brought the individual to. The bounty hunter stood there with a well-deserved smile on her face as she swept her firearm toward her prize to motion him to keep moving, and with a sigh he rose to his feet from the vehicle.

Wolvinator stood there for a moment at his full height of five-foot-ten. He wasn?t wearing his usual concealing robe, as it appeared that it was stripped from him from the time he decided to ?go along? with his captor. Wolvie was however wearing his black poly-Kevlar Sneak Suit, which was one entire jumpsuit that was made of a smart fabric, which comfortably hugged his frame tightly. His physique was clearly defined as the material conformed over him, yet it wasn?t the overdramatic ?big strong hero? type that almost seemed to become commonplace in Rhy?Din. The muscle structure of the man showed a nice balance of density, toning and conditioning suggesting that he was more than likely in peak physical shape.

His blue eyes swept over the landscape momentarily as he took in his environment with almost photographic glances. The man was being brought to a location that was foreign and unknown to him, and if this was indeed some form of a trap? he wanted to have some type of a backup plan in case the situation looked grim. The wind kicked up once more and gently pushed his short brown hair to one side, while also forcing him to squint for a few moments to avoid the particles of dust that were prominent at this location.

Wolvinator stepped forward now as Faye Valentine took her place behind him, keeping an ever-watchful eye on the man and her pistol held firmly in his hands. Gently coursing his lower lip through the top of his teeth, his mouth was surrounded by a well-maintained reddish-brown goatee that also seemed to fit the conformity of his jaw line rather nicely. His hands were restrained behind his back as was requested of him, and also due the courtesy of Miss Valentine.

Faye had asked him to come along peaceful, and even attempted to assure him that this was all supposed to be a peaceful meeting. Mary Read had wanted him brought in to have a non-violent resolution to the conflict that had sparked in recent weeks. Blood was being shed, people?s lives were on the line, and this one man was in the center of it all. He had nearly killed Brandon Lee Morgan when he found out that a weapon was being engineered to weaken, and possibly kill him; Wrath was no longer amongst the living, due to their last encounter; and Brian Fury was sure to get another taste of what he had in store the moment he could get his hands on him. It looked like it was one full, and tall order, for the Admiral.

He? trusted Faye, as he had known her since his reemergence to Rhy?Din. They had worked together on quite a few occasions, and he wanted to believe was she was telling him. But it was meant to be so peaceful, then again he was cuffed and at gunpoint.

?Go figure.? It was something that he thought to himself during the ordeal. The man had been a prisoner more than a handful of times in his life, his profession nearly called for it. He was more than just some Admiral, or someone caught in the crossfire, this was something that he had been doing most of his life. This was a person that swore to protect the innocent, even at the cost of his own life, and it looked like under the current circumstance? that was a definite possibility.

Wolvinator was in the lion?s den.

Marguerite opens an invisible door and leads them through it. Upon stepping through they would find themselves in a conference room inside the Corporation.

There is a table with two chairs, brightly lit by strong bulbs hidden in the walls. Upon the table is a pitcher of water with two small glasses stacked neatly next to it, on a white cloth. Other than this the room is bare, plain, and appears as though it hasn't been used much. It still has that new interrogation room smell.

Mary stands with a beautiful diamond tiara displayed by both hands near the table. She holds it out in offering to Faye, saying first, "I think you can remove those handcuffs now. I hope we can communicate like civilized people. There is no need for him to be restrained."

She smiles at him after this is done and motions for him to have a seat. She however makes no move to sit down herself. She instead addresses Faye firmly.

"Now Miss Valentine, if you would excuse us please, your part in this is done. We have some things to sort out so I must ask you to take your payment and leave us alone to talk. A pleasure doing business with you, and we'll talk more at a later date about handling Miss Lucy's career."

As the handcuffs were released from him, he quickly brought his hands from around his back and began rubbing his wrists alternately. Wolvinator?s biceps flexed gently as his hands made the massaging motion and stretched the fabric of his bodysuit. There were no words spoken, and instead he just looked to Mary as he examined her for a moment. She may or may not have remembered? but the two of them had met a few times before, and all of those meetings were courtesy of Bob. Regardless it had been quite some time since they had been in the company of one another, let alone under such circumstances. His gaze then looked over to Faye as Mary spoke to her.

Payment.

Seemed as though Faye was getting her fair share out of this deal. Despite his trust for her, she was still a Bounty Hunter nonetheless. Wolvie realized that Faye wouldn?t just go after someone that she considered a friend without some form of compensation, never mind a person that she had seen in combat first hand. Mary had chosen her cards correctly, and she chose the correct person to bring the Admiral to her, that much he at least respected for her. The rest, however, would have to play itself out.

Faye had placed her gun back behind her hip before removing Wolv's cuffs. But she didn't care for the most unusual manner in which this meeting was being conducted. Let's face it here, no one really tells Faye to do anything, whatever they might pay her. She had already taken off her yellow headband, which was worn to keep her hair out of her face, and was going about replacing it with the delicate tiara while Mary was speaking to her.

Faye crossed her arms, looking every bit the part of a stubborn and spoiled princess, who was clearly used to getting her way. She also had that strong steal resolve that occasionally could be displayed by one in a royal position. Faye had taken the job despite Wolv's awesome combat skills because she was clearly confident in her own.

?Actually I think I will stay. I want to make sure everything goes smooth. Just being helpful ya know.? She flashed Mary that charming smile she had down, and a quick wink. ?You won?t even notice I?m here.?

Mary smiled back at Faye?s reaction. ?Not notice you Miss Valentine? Impossible. Well, I suppose you may remain at present, if you wish? but I can?t promise you can stay long.?

She then turned back to Wolvinator with a pleasant expression. Mary had a vague memory of his face from the day she saved Bob?s life. She was not noticing her surroundings much at the time; she was more concerned with the death of the man who had done so much for her. This did not exactly endear him to her, this memory: he had been threatening her, trying to get her to stop.

?I must thank you for coming today,? she inclined her head politely, addressing him now. ?Even under these unpleasant circumstances. I know there have been some unfortunate events which may have led to certain misunderstandings? but it is my wish to sort it all out today.?

?To do that though you must first deal with Madame Delfoart, who feels she has been terribly wronged by you. You owe her some answers, and I hope for your sake you are the respectful and decent sort of person I?ve been told about, and mind her well. Only after you two have talked through your bad blood we can get down to the real issue here.?

She held up a hand and right on schedule, in walked Madame ?Kiki? Delfoart. She was smiling, a look that was far more chilling on her than plain anger.

Wolvinator

Wolvinator?s gaze had moved over to Faye as she took her seat in the rear most part of this? interrogation room. She had decided to stay, which could either be good or bad depending on how one would take the entire situation.

Faye was one of, if not the best, at what she did as she was one of those types that added a certain pizzazz to her job title. Wolvie could remember describing her talents to Sky Url'kran at one point by saying ?There are many individuals that do her type of job out there, but then again? no one does it quite like Faye Valentine.? And that was something that he meant quite literally, now more than ever seeing how he was on the other side of this gambit.

Mary took to speaking to him directly now, and he looked to her as she did so. He still had yet to take the seat that was offered to him as he was still quite wary of the situation. Apparently this whole ordeal was supposed to be diplomatic, but he couldn?t help but feel like he was captured and brought in for some type of questioning or inquiry. This was all ?odd? at best to him. The very first time he had met Mary it was on friendly terms, one night at the inn while having a discussion with Bob, when one of the Ravenlock females varieties and a Pirate Captain decided to insult Mary as she sat at their table. Wolvinator had stuck up for her on that evening, possibly even creating some bad blood for himself as he did so. Would she remember that? Was that possibly why she wanted this chat? Instead of this being some form of trap, as he had initially suspected, perhaps she was being truthful. She really just wanted to? talk.

As Miss Read signaled, and Madam Delfort entered the room, Wolvinator?s head turned as his blue eyes focused on her. He had never seen this person before, yet she felt wronged by him? Was this some type of Vendetta that he had yet to realize was in place? That sort of thing happened when you threaten to take out an entire organization, or a Criminal Empire in Wolvie?s mind. Going around and killing off people definitely could rub anyone the wrong way, and that might be what he was expecting now.

His posture shifted towards her slightly as he noticed that she was in fact? smiling. The Admiral did his best to assess her in the time allotted. Was she a telepath, torture expert, executioner, assassin? The list could go on and on, and he knew that he would find out sooner then later. Wolvinator?s demeanor remained unwavering, and void of any form of emotion. He was trained quite well and showed no sign of fear as the second entrant arrived. These were the types of things that would make anyone else in his position quiver right in their galoshes.

But not him.

Words finally made their way out of his lips, for the first time since arriving on the scene, as he looked towards the Delfoart woman. His voice was rather deep and the tone could be considered menacing to those that took it the wrong way, yet no disrespect in the manner that he spoke. Mary had said that she believed he was decent and respectful, and perhaps there was some truth in what she had told him. There was a hint of a New York accent, to those that had a keen enough ear to pick up on it, yet a military disposition nonetheless.

?So? where should we begin? Name, rank? service number??

Madame Kiki

Date: 2007-11-04 23:32 EST
"None of that will be necessary, Mr. Wolvinator. I know who you are, and what you do. In fact, I have you at a disadvantage." Her voice was rich, thickly accented with the curious vowels of the French Caribbean. She spoke low and even, knowing that anger would help nothing, and that the best threats are spoken coldly.... But first, a small matter.

She glanced over at the bounty hunter. "How lovely you look in your new crown, Mademoiselle Valentine," she said courteously. "But you have been paid for your work, as agreed, and must now leave us to speak privately." Faye opened her mouth to object, but the breath was snatched from her as she was dragged swiftly from the room by invisible hands. She was tossed outside the room, not ungently, and the door slammed behind her. A spectral hand locked it from outside. There would be no interruptions.

"Now," she continued, taking a seat, "do sit down. I would not bother being courteous if I absolutely intended on killing you, now would I? Let us be civil, as my spirit sister Madame Read has urged me to be. There are certain things about this situation that you must know, in order to see how your ignorance has brought us to this cross."

She gave him a moment to sit, without ordering her spirit servants to coerce him into doing so. Madame Kiki had been accused of being many things - cruel, arrogant, cold as the dead she worked with - but her manners were faultless.

"I am Madame Delfoart, a necromancer and a priestess of Voodoun. More important, Brandon Lee Morgan, the man you hunted down and almost killed, is my property. You might even call him my prized possession; he is implicitly under my protection. This is the first thing you should know." She lit a cigarette to steady her hands, one of the slim brown cloves she favored. "The second important thing is that although you may not have heard of me, I do have a reputation... as both a woman who is not to be crossed, and a firm believer in justice."

She drew in the smoke, blew out a series of concentric rings. "It is because of my love of justice that you have a chance of surviving your offense. If, after hearing your side of this, I believe that my honor can allow you to live, you will walk from here unharmed. If I judge you to be an attempted murderer, a danger to me and mine, you will die."

She pointed to the wall to her left. "Through that wall is a very large room. In this room are many, many zombies, waiting for my word to come through this wall. There are ghouls, and some monsters that even I do not have a name for. This very room is thick with my other servants, the wraiths, the ghosts, the angry spirits." She winked at the man. "That was the third thing I really thought you should know."

She leaned back in her chair. "Now. Tell me why you deserve to live, and keep in mind that I have almost no interest in your rationalization for attacking Brandon. Ignorance alone is no excuse; one must be fully informed before attempting to take a life."

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-11-05 02:07 EST
His hand gently moved to the seat that was pushed in before him, gripping the steel of the chair, he slid it back towards himself so that he may sit in it. Despite Faye being the one that brought him into this mess, he didn?t quite appreciate the fact that she was handled in such a way. Unfortunately though, that was the absolute least of his worries. Both of his gloved hands came to a rest on the table now, while his eyes focused directly on his current interrogator. There wasn?t a single hint of fear in the man, just compliance to her request to sit.

Wolvinator began to speak once more, only this time he was replying to her statements and questions that she had addressed to him. He looks determined without being ruthless. Something heroic in this man, there's courage about him. Doesn't look like a killer. He comes across so calm, almost as if it were a dream, full of passion.

?I must say first Miss Delfoart, my ignorance is not why we are at this cross on this day. I am not a man that simply gets himself into situations that he cannot get out of, nor am I a man that blindly dives headfirst into a situation without knowing the repercussions. If you have me at a disadvantage, as you say, and know me as well as you speak? then you know that much about me.?

Shifting in his seat for a moment, he allowed his words to sink in momentarily before he continued on. His accent was definitely missing from that statement, as it seemed to be more or less a diplomatic response to her. But in a moment, that accent would return.

?I appreciate the forewarning as far as yer little surprise ya have waitin? for me in the next room over there?? his head motioned in that direction momentarily as he mentioned the room.

?But I gotta admit I?ve seen some pretty heavy stuff in my day? so I don?t want you thinkin? that I?ve got my tail between my legs or that you?ve got the odds stacked against me. If anything? ya might have just evened them out a bit? that?s all.? Wolvie hinted at a smile as he said that. The man was quite bold as he spoke yet not aggressive at the same time. If anything he was establishing himself as an equal at this meeting, to him he felt as though he was a holy warrior in an unholy land. But that never bothered him before, and it wasn?t going to now.

?Ya said somethin? to me darlin?, somethin? about? allowin? me live. That?s what got us all here in this little debacle in the first place.? Wolvie?s right hand moved to his face now, stroking his goatee as he readied to explain himself further.

?I?m the type of person that doesn?t take those kinds of threats lightly. Attempts on my life is basically like puttin? a big red ?X? on yer chest and just beggin? for me to take ya out. I have people, call them contacts, call them intelligence, call them friends, really? whichever you prefer; these people tell me things. So when I catch wind that someone, who I only know from passing glances and general conversation is creating a pathogen of some sort to weaken me, and possibly take my life, well? ya gotta understand that a guy like me takes that a little personal.?

The Admiral?s eyes swept over the table for a moment as he looked at the water, the glasses, and the white cloth. He was sort of hoping that there was a nice fat cigar there. Yet alas there wasn?t. He normally didn?t smoke, as he found it to be a nasty habit, yet on an occasion he found one to be rather relaxing.

?As you may or may not have heard, I?ve been gettin? quite a few attempts on my life recently. Yer boy Bob for one, Wrath bein? another, some lightsaber waving Falleen, one of yer newest boys Brian Fury, and lastly? Brandon Lee Morgan.? He cleared his throat at this point, and again took another pause. Wolvinator wanted to make sure that they could understand just how many sides were currently after him.

?Now? to be quite frank, I?m pretty fed up with people trying to take me out. Ya know? it takes its toll on ya. It?s kinda hard when yer one of the only guys runnin? around trying to ?do right?, and ya start making some headway? so criminal activity in our fair city here is gettin? bent outta shape and wants to eliminate that threat. Being someone that?s a firm believer in justice, you can see how this rubbed me the wrong way.?

His reasoning was almost complete as he managed to get most of his points across without interruption. That was something he appreciated.

?That?s where Brandon comes into all of this again. I found yer boy in the marketplace that evening, a short while after I found out that yer little ?organization? had it in to take me out. I had no intentions on killin? the kid, and I basically wanted some information outta him, seein? as how he?s the one engineering this virus. I proceeded to interrogate ?em, try to get some answers, and the only thing he admitted to was actually making the virus. I told him to quit makin? it, and he told me that it was too late and that it was completed. Naturally, I told him to destroy it? and of course he refused. That?s when I got a lil more touchy with ?em, and he decided that he was gonna turn into some demon like thing and we got into it.?

?Now? things got a little ugly. He started tryin? to take me out right then and there, and I wasn?t gonna let ?em, so the scrap took the course that it did. Just so the two of you know, he did regain consciousness before I was done with ?em, and I didn?t want him to die. I wanted him to be a message to you? and your Corporation. If Bonny Corp is gonna hunt me down and try to take me out, then? I wasn?t gonna stop till every last member of Bonny Corp is pushing up daises.?

Wolvinator?s fingers interlocked with one another as he rested them on the table. He still looked quite relaxed, even though he felt like he?d been talking his head off for quite some time.

?And that, my dear ladies, is what brings us all here today.?

Mary held up her hands, urging both to silence.... She had not had Wolvinator brought here to be killed. There were much easier ways to accomplish that than bringing him all the way here. But he definitely wasn't helping his case with the Madame, and that was due to a few more misconceptions. It was time to tell both of them about Wrath.

"The Bonny Corporation is not trying to kill you," she said, slowly and clearly. "I'm sure what my colleague meant to say is that she is very angry with you, and not without justification. The zombies will stay in the other room, they are a precaution only. Please listen to what I have to say, and then both of you can try to talk things out. All right?"

"The first thing that needs to be explained is the virus, and Brandon's part in it. There was a grave series of miscommunications," she said. She paused, trying to figure out where to begin. "Brandon Morgan is the Corporation's resident scientist, and has gained a reputation for genius even outside our ranks. When he was presented with some of your genetic material, I gave consent for him to analyze it - no more. I wanted to know what you were, to satisfy my own curiosity, and give Brandon a challenge. He gets bored when he doesn't have something impossible to accomplish."

"It was Wrath who pretended to speak for Bob - and us - when she ordered the creation of a virus from your DNA. I never expected her to be so treacherous, so I hadn't warned Brandon about the importance of the chain of command. Even believing that Wrath spoke with our authority, he refused to create a fatal virus - he is a pacifist by preference - and attempted to create something to weaken you. So that you would no longer be a threat, and would be left alone. Unfortunately, Brandon is also an idealist, and has learned an important lesson about misplaced trust. I am certain that his conflict with you was due to confusion about the true will of the Bonny Corporation, which he is quite loyal to."

She smiled warmly at Wolvinator. "You, having brought Wrath to justice, have done us a favor - whether you intended to or not. That is something on your side, isn't it? All that my dear friend Kiki knows of you is who you are, and that you assaulted Brandon... naturally she does not look on you kindly. Tell her about yourself. You are more than the fighter that this situation forced you to be, and we are far from being criminals or minions of Bob." She was determined to make this a conversation, not a lynching. "Would you like something else to drink, or perhaps a cigar?"

One last thing occurred to her. "As for Brian Fury. If he continues to harass you - an action which we neither sanction, nor ordered - you may deal with him as you see fit. He is only contract help; we had our own reservations about taking him into our resident staff. Bob, I fear, is a different matter; we have officially classified him as a 'force of nature', and though we will not help him against you, I really don't see what we could do to stop him. It may still be possible to reach a peaceful solution with him, which of course would be preferable to us... it is awful to be caught in the middle of such a thing."

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-11-06 14:04 EST
Wolvinator sat and listened to everything that Mary had to say, nearly analyzing every word she spoke for a hint of deception in her voice. But there wasn?t any. She spoke calmly to him, not aggressive, and it seemed that what she was saying is true. Mary did want a peaceful resolve to this situation, and in light of her telling him the key things that she did? began to make the situation clear. It appeared as though Wrath had her own agenda, and despite Wolvie having a variety of sides closing in on him, the Bonny Corporation wouldn?t have had anything to do with this situation if it hadn?t been for Wrath. Both sides had been set against one another as if they were pawns in a gigantic board of? one player chess.

?I? appreciate you clearing up that little situation with Brandon, Mary.? There was a smile that formed on his face as he said those words. ?Maybe next time if you?re curious about me, you could ask. I might be better inclined to give you some better answers at that route.? He paused for a moment as he tried to lighten up the situation a bit.

?So from what I gather the virus was created to weaken me. It was created because this Corporation considered me a threat and it believed me to be a threat? all because Wrath had said so?? He then nodded a bit, as the question was almost rhetorical at this point. Mary had made herself clear, if she wanted him dead? there were probably other ways she could go about it. The more he pondered the situation he was in, the more and more he believed her.

?A little bit about myself, eh?? Wolvinator said as he shifted to look back and forth between Kiki and Mary casually. He decided to indulge himself in her question as he couldn?t see any harm in doing so. His accent had faded once more, as he was taking a much more diplomatic stance now. It looked as though things were finally getting resolved.

?Well since I?ve performed a mutual favor in regards to the Wrath situation, I suppose telling you a little bit about myself wouldn?t cause any further harm, and may in fact help to ease this situation further.?

Clearing his throat, he then began to open up to his inquisitors.

?There are many things that I am involved with Miss Read, but I suppose I can start out with something that the two of you may already have a basis for. I am an Admiral for a space exploration and defense organization known as The Federation Starfleet, and in turn I am not a native to this planet. I originally came here on a brief hiatus from my usual on goings, only to find out that my services were required here as well, as I managed to become involved with a few local entanglements.?

?I?ve split my time between here, and also back home, as my duties and responsibilities lie with quite a few different organizations, Starfleet only being one of them. As I serve the Federation I also have a dual military commitment as an officer with a worldwide planetary defense force, which for all intents and purposes is a Military organization. That role has taken more of a backseat in recent years, yet it still is an active commission. Lastly, and most prominently, I belong to an affiliation that is responsible for the equality, protection and defense for and from a race of people with extraordinary abilities. Some still classify these people as humans, while others call them Mutants, Most however have come to the mutual name? homosuperior.?

Pausing again, Wolvinator moved to pouring himself a glass of water from the table and swallowing a few mouthfuls before continuing. All this talking could get anyone parched at this rate. The water on the table? was a good choice.

?So, Madam Delfoat, perhaps that would help bring some further light onto just who I am. If it wasn?t for this little misunderstanding I never would have harmed Brandon, and to be honest? the only reason why I did such an act is because I considered my life to be in danger. As for that, I apologize.?

Leaning back a bit in his chair now, he offered another faint smile to Mary as he seemed to be a bit more relaxed.

?A cigar would be nice, thank you. And? while we?re all here playing ?getting to know you?, how about you tell me about yourselves and your Corporation? If you?d be so kind.?

Mary nodded a few times while he spoke; listening with interest to what he had to say. She smiled pleasantly before continuing, ?Yes, I suppose you are right. Talking in the first place would have been a better way to approach things. I have been?overwhelmed by all my work. If I hadn?t come to the understanding that you were out to destroy everything that mattered to me, I wouldn?t have ordered Brandon to listen to anything that witch said. I suppose the fault is mine for not further investigating the situation. Do not blame my people; the folly is mine as I am responsible for everything done by those in this company. I am responsible for their actions and for protecting their lives. As a leader yourself, I am sure you can understand what a difficult task this can be at times.?

At this point she handed him that cigar and a box of matches. She took the other seat at the table since he hadn?t given any appearance of aggression so far. She poured herself a glass of water and took a sip before continuing.

?I really do appreciate you coming in to speak with us. I know Miss Valentine is very talented at her work, but if you had not been willing to put your life on the line for the better of all, then I?m sure everyone would have been worse off. I respect that you, like me, are willing to go to such lengths to protect people. I believe we have some common understanding as for the value of life.?

?Now, I will tell you about myself and my company. The Bonny Corporation is an organization that currently occupies two worlds - Rhydin as well as Earth. The Bonny Corporation on earth has a hand in a lot of things. It was started by the one who embraced Anne and me, with her as the figure head. Normally my job only entailed being her protection, as I fear she is the favored child. Us being in love for over three hundred years? I would never object to this position, it?s something I have dedicated my life to.?

?The new Bonny Corporation here in Rhydin is a venture that Anne and I began together. We have a number of high leveled staff positions, associates, and various workers but were actually quite small by comparison to our counterpart on earth. We have a variety of fine imported goods, silks from old China and what not. We have also been working for some time, and are about to launch, a carnival of sorts. A fun fair that will provide entertainment and a much needed safe place for everyone to relax and enjoy themselves a little. Rhydin is a very hard place to live at times, and we wish to bring a little joy to peoples lives. ?

She couldn?t help but grin a little. ?I think you will find despite our reputations that is really all we are. Not that appearing as though we are not ones to be crossed is something we would discourage. Keeping my employees safe is my top priority.?

?Since Anne had to go away she left the company in my ownership. All employees of the Bonny Corp are as family to me, and to each other. I had to decide on a definitive course of action to respond to your attack on Brandon. Not only is he a very valued member, who contributes more than his fair share, he is like a brother to me. He is loved by everyone in my company. I obviously decided you to be of enough merit to attempt a civilized and peaceful conversation, which I sincerely hope will be a resolution to our differences.?

?I don?t know what your impression of me may have been before, between rumors and out right sabatosh, but I am just a working girl protecting my family. Trying to bind together talented individuals to look out for each other and to create a place every type of person can find enjoyable. Those are my two goals.?

She took another sip of water at this point; she knew that there was more to the situation that had found them at odds. It wasn?t all just petty rumors that had gotten them here. Deciding to give him a chance to respond or ask questions before going on, she took a moment to pause.

Wolvinator

His hand held out and gently took the cigar from Mary?s hand; as he took to biting off its tip and placing the discarded end in the ashtray. Wolvinator placed the cigar in his mouth now and took the box of matches to remove a singular wooden match from the box. Listening intently to the leader of the Corporation, he struck the match and held it up to his face to light the cigar. A few inhaled pulls drew the flame deeper into the cigar as a red cherry formed which grew larger and larger with each quick inhale. Finally taking one long and drawn out pull from the cigar, he pulled it from his mouth and allowed the smoke to rise from the aperture and into the air.

The cigar was quite pleasing and helped the meeting to continue smoothly. A drag was taken here and there as he listened, nodding occasionally to what she said. The two of them would go to making eye contact occasionally, other times his glances would waver off as he looked around the room. As she paused, he took to continuing to conversation, in an attempt to grasp the full aspect of everything that was being laid out before him.

?Well, you?re right. There are a lot of rumors that buzz around, and it?s hard to not grace the ears of those that care for the well being of the average citizen.? Wolvinator leaned over and rested his elbow on the table as it held the cigar, looking directly to capture Mary?s gaze.

?Word on the street is that Bonny Corporation is a front for underground criminal activity, a? ?Mafia? organization if you will. I know it might sound kind of bold, but I mean no disrespect to you at all Miss Read. That being said, if that is at all true, then it is quite unfortunate that our paths may cross again. But, you called this meeting to air things out, and come to a peaceful resolve? and I want to come to one. So I am going to take your word for what you said, you and your people are an Organization that takes to personally protect its employees and it?s interests, no matter at how high the cost. That?s something I respect.?

?You could say that you and I have something in common in that case, as I belong to a family environment myself, and we do whatever means are necessary to ensure the safety of one another.? He smiled now, taking a drink from his glass of water, as well as another pull from his cigar before finishing up his statement.

?So Mary, you say that you feel you are personally responsible for anyone who errors in the name of the company? Well then, how about we end this hostility on a small deal. I have technically been wronged by an initial act of aggression, which immersed us in this entire ordeal. So how about we end this conflict with the promise of a favor, and we?ll call it even? Nothing like a devil?s deal, or promise for a soul exchange, nothing of the sort. Just the promise that if I? need something in the future, that I would be able to rely on you for compliance. Then I will definitely consider this entire situation closed, and everything squared away. A? business arrangement. How does that sound??

Leaning back a bit in his chair now, he placed the cigar into his mouth and bit down on it a bit and held it there as he awaited Mary?s response. There was no malice in what he asked, Wolvinator wasn?t that type of individual, yet with all the sides that were currently opposing him perhaps this was a way to even the score.

Nodding she replied, ?If you should need something in the future you may come to me and I will do what I can.? She decided it was time to clarify about their differences relating to Bob, seeing as how it was that which had lead them to this point.

?I?m sure you may have heard about a meeting which ended in the creation of something called the Order of the Crimson Sun. I suppose you are aware that I was made a part of that. Bob?s intentions that day were to bring together some of his friends so that they would not allow themselves to be oppressed by the more unseemly characters around here. I am sure you have been around more than long enough to run into many of them.?

?This group was composed of people that do like and care about Bob, these friendships I think all began because of him helping them, usually saving them from some terrible fate or another. So whatever people may say about him or his ally?s, were just a group of individuals who happened to share one of the best friends a person could have.?

?Hell, just ask Miss Valentine about him. She actually works or the man, she?ll tell you what kind a guy he is. All his goals have included thus far has been the protection of his people. I honestly can?t understand that people would think anything bad of it, except for maybe Wrath. I still am not sure at all the things she did in his absence, or the lies that passed between her and Bob? But I do know that she had her own reasons for doing what she did and was in fact, a self-proclaimed leader of the organization. This was not something he intended as he is all about equality, something fairly foreign to this place and a threatening concept to some.?

She knew she was taking a chance by bringing this up but she wanted to make sure he was aware of everything as it really was and not how it may have been projected. Mary was the most honest person you could meet. Her truth always shone through in her words and was supported by her actions. So, since the air had to be cleared she continued on steadily.

?That is really why this has all come to pass isn?t it? I was told by Wrath you sought to destroy Bob, as well as us for our relation to him. It is hard for me to believe that you would oppose a man who has been helping so many? and even more so that you would be hunting down all those that consider him a friend. Something that seems to in each case be because of his kindness, a thing many have most conveniently failed to recognize. There are many women I know who can only hold their heads up high today because of his influence on them. Helping them to believe they were worth more than what they were being treated as? We love him because he is a hero, one that has proven himself to be selfless time and time again. So I don?t know what caused you to believe he must be stopped, I don?t know what words from other people gave you the impression you seem to hold... But I do know his character can be well spoken for by many more than just me.?

She took another sip of water before leaning back in her chair. ?Now these enemies that have been acquired, usually by Bob getting in the way of harming what would have normally been another unnoticed victim, I can understanding their relentless and senseless persecution. But you seem like a decent man so to be frank, I just don?t get it.?

Faye Valentine

Faye stood with her back against the wall just outside the door. Folding her arms she sighed heavily, waiting, wondering what was happening in there. The decision had been made reluctantly to leave them alone to talk for a while, rather then shooting down the door, as was her first impulse. She didn?t want to make things worse than they already were, but she had no intention of leaving this place without Wolvinator.

Finishing his glass of water, he set the empty glass down on the table and pushed it away from himself, giving him a bit to more room. He held the cigar in-between his fingers at this point, and as the ash would get too long he would snap his fingers over the ashtray. The quick jerking motion would cause the large ash to fall directly into the ashtray, and despite the motion it maintained the table?s cleanliness from his nasty habit.

?Well Mary I must say, I am? quite glad you brought this to my attention. I?ve known about the order of the Crimson Sun for quite some time as well, and I believe I was informed of it? not too long after its conception. In fact, I debated bringing it up at all? since you brought me here today for Bonny Corp business, and not any of my other dealings. For a moment, seeing as how you talked about Wrath, I wasn?t sure if you were actually part of the organization at all, or maybe it wasn?t as organized as I was led to believe. But since it?s out there, I suppose we should air out that situation as well.?

?Now that I think of it, if I trace back to course of events that led us to this meeting today, that is what initially sparked this little conflict. Bob and I were on good terms I suppose, yet I knew from our first meeting that eventually conflict would arise? just from the way things were going. Upon my first encounter with Bob he proceeded to try and ?make a deal? with me, almost as if he were the Devil himself, attempting to bargain my soul for possessions, wealth or something of that nature. As time progressed however, he saw that those sort of games wouldn?t work on me, and that form of deal making faded and never resurfaced.?

The cigar raised to his mouth again as a few more puffs were taken, smoke rising from his mouth and into the air above him.

?Quite a few individuals had warned me about Bob though. They told me of his misdealing?s and his evil intent as well as a variety of other things. Rumors are rumors, as we?ve discussed already, but when are majority of individuals are under the impression that he is a mass murderer and killer, well? you can?t help but form your own opinions. Unfortunately, the more I seemed to stay out of Bob?s affairs, the more bad things happened; and the straw that finally broke the camel?s back is when Bob murdered Kaze Majin and her boyfriend Sam Maverick. That?s what sent me over the edge Mary. I know you may care a lot about Bob, and he may have done a lot for you, but I suppose it?s all a matter of perspective.?

?Kaze, who worked for him for some time, told me that Bob had considered me to be a threat, and that he initially hired her to get close to me and kill me. When she did not comply he attempted to kill her, only instead splitting her into her various forms, one of whom you are very familiar with?Wrath.?

?Bob and I also held quite a few discussions with one another, and one of which he personally told me that he was bringing some type of large, dark, evil planet to Rhy?Din. He told me hundreds would die, possibly thousands, and he hadn?t quite made up his mind yet, but he wanted to ?Cleanse the planet?, at least in his eyes. Sure? he could have just been blowing steam, but then again the one threat you sleep on? is the one threat that costs countless lives.?

Leaning back in his chair now, he shrugged a bit while the cigar rolled around in his mouth while his gaze stayed rather focused on Mary. He was quite pleased that this encounter was proving to be productive, and the thought that many open issues could be closed. Yet? Faye came back to his mind, as she was till placed in that room by Miss Delfoart.

?Mary, if I may, would it be at all possible to allow the release of Miss Valentine from that room? She?s? been in there for some time now, and I doubt it could do any harm to allow her release.? A gentle smile came to his face as he said that, giving Mary a nod of reassurance.

When he asked about Faye coming in she gave a glance to Madame, who nodded her head. The door would open, apparently of its own accord. When Faye reentered Mary would greet her with a pleasant smile. "Thank you ever so much for excusing us for a moment. You are welcome to join us again now, seeing as how you saw it fit to wait for us to finish. We were just discussing our mutual friend Bob."

She couldn't help the smirk that came to her face at Wolvinator's claims. She had known Bob long enough to know how he worked and how he came off at times. He seemed to like the impression people got of him as being a ?bad guy? but Mary knew different.

"As for Kaze; Bob has 'modified' a number of people. But from what I know he has never done anything like that to anyone who didn't want him to. Have you considered that she may not have been entirely honest with you about what passed between Bob and her? You don't need to answer now, just think on it. Perhaps there was more to the story than you were told. That would make any more blood shed due awfully tragic."

"As for what he said about cleansing... There is no question that Rhydin has a lot of people here who are just bad - nothing even redeeming about them. He does get angry and frustrated at times, but in my acquaintance with him he has never harmed one innocent soul."

"I would never expect you to give up trying to protect Rhydin; I rather like the place myself. I don't wish bad to happen to anyone if that is possible, but sometimes people will force your hand. This just doesn?t seem to be necessary in this case. I don't want you to stop protecting our good people, it is a noble aspiration. I just want you to for the time being reconsider the stance you have taken. I have spoken to Bob myself and he has no problem with you aside from that you are sworn to put an end to him. Having said that, I think you can understand why I find it hard to believe you were truly informed correctly about him being after you first."

"Again, I am not saying to give up keeping an eye out for something that you think is possibly a danger. Being prepared is important ? from any danger that may come. I am just saying that maybe you be sure of all the facts before you persecute an entire group of reputable ladies based on the word of one. If for some reason things change then do what you believe is right. But for the time being, do you think you can put what passed behind you? I don't think it is fair for all those that may be caught in the crossfire when there is no need for anymore violence."

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-11-08 21:35 EST
?I understand that, believe me I do.? Wolvie was responding to the part Mary had said about ?being sure of all the facts?.

?I had a few sources tell me that I was being targeted by the Crimson Sun, and also by Bob. It?s a hard thing to call, ya know? Who to believe, whom not to believe. One of the most valuable lessons I know is that if you sleep on an empty threat, that empty threat will get you in your sleep. It doesn?t take a well-trained Warrior to pull a trigger, any clown can come up to you at any point and blow your brains out. So when it comes to things like that, I?d rather be safe? then sorry.?

?Deception is also a key factor Mary. We can sit here and debate that aspect of it all day, but you know as well as I? that there are those that will smile in your face and then stab you in your back. Kaze? may be what you say she is, but then again I have to take her word on things when she comes up to me on her own free will to warn me.?

The Admiral leaned forward a bit as he shifted in his chair. Perception. That was a key element throughout this entire conversation. He was taking in everything that she had said, and he analyzed all of it. Yet he couldn?t help but think on the aspect of ?Evil.? Not all things are cut and dry, there isn?t always good and evil. Sometimes those that are viewed as killers and criminals believe in their own mind that they are on the right side. It?s part of their persona. Not everyone that does things with malice intent believes that it is such. Perception can make one man a murderer, and that same man in the eyes of another? a hero.

?I believe that it is fair to say that we can put the past behind us. I?ve said what?s needed to be said here, and if all you?re saying is true then there is no reason for us to be at odds with one another. I have what I need here, a formal apology from the woman who is in charge of her people, and the promise that when I need a favor that she will do her absolute best to comply.? Wolvinator moved to stand from his seat now as he continued on a moment longer.

?I?m a man with honor Miss Read, and I am a man of my word. My duty is to protect the innocent, and I will continue to do so. I just hope that in me performing my duties, we won?t have to have another one of these talks? or maybe worse. Let?s keep things diplomatic, and maybe we?ll find each other working on the same side Mary. With what you?re telling me, the latter is sure to present itself sooner then later.? He gave her a smile as he said that.

?I appreciate your release of Miss Valentine, your showmanship has honestly changed my initial impression of you Mary, and I thank you for making things go? smoothly. I look forward to strengthening this relationship further.?

He gently nodded his head to Mary, almost in a bowing fashion.

?Is there anything else then??

Faye Valentine

Date: 2007-11-09 15:28 EST
When Faye entered she was looking a little bit peeved to say the least. She moved behind Wolvinator and stood silently while they spoke. She seemed to brighten as she listened to all that was being said. It seemed that progress was being made and that cheered her a little. She placed her hands on his shoulders to show her support of him. Wolvinator had been her friend before anyone here. He had helped her when he didn't even know her... Just like Bob had. She couldn't help but get in on the conversation for a moment.

She smiled as he rose and looked at him. "Does that mean you won't be hunting down my boss anymore? And those of us that are... in the Order?"

The question was important to her and she stared at him with those emeralds sparkling hopefully. Getting caught in the middle of their fight was a place she really didn't want to be.

Wolvinator

Wolvinator smiled a bit, looking over to Faye as her hands rested on his shoulder. His own blue eyes scanned over her face for a moment as he offered her a nod.

"If everything that Mary is saying is true. Then thats correct Faye. As long as people keep their nose clean, and your 'boss' isn't coming after me either, then I see no reason to continue my Crusade against the Corporation, The Order, or Bob for that matter. But as I said, thats going off the trust I am gaining in what Mary has told me. If for some reason, any of that is a lie... well... it will put a serious strain and setback to everything that was said here today."

"Although... I... still have a score to settle with Brian Fury, but we'll cross that bridge when we need to. No reason to complicate things further, at least for the moment."

Another smile was given to Faye, as the Admiral glanced back to Mary for her response.

Mary had looked at Wolvinator intensely while she waited for his answer to the question purposed by Miss Valentine. Satisfied by his response and having his word that he wouldn't be attacking those she loves she finally says, "I do not lie, I never have. That is one thing you need never worry about from me."

"That being said, I assure you that no one I know has any intentions of bringing harm to you. I just needed to satisfy myself that this whole incident was indeed a horrible misunderstanding, on both sides, and that there is no need for further violence."

She looked him in the eye. "I thank you again for proving to be a reasonable and responsible man. I must ask that if you were to get any information that would cause you to believe otherwise about my people's intent that you come to me first before acting. I think this whole situation could have been avoided if either of us had made the effort to do that in the first place. I merely wish to be sure that no more unnecessary harm will come to those that matter to me. If you can promise me that, then there will be no future reason for us to find each other at odds again."

At this point she offered a hand to him. She wanted to be sure they were both in agreement and had reached a certain mutual respect. "Let us shake on the understanding we have reached today. I give you my word that no harm will come to you by means of my people, and that if you should ever need my assistance with anything, I will do all that is in my power to aid you. And you promise me if you have a problem, with me or my people, you will talk with me before acting so we can attempt to work it out and get to the bottom of it before we find ourselves in such a situation again."

Wolvinator

Date: 2007-11-09 17:56 EST
Wolvinator?s hand extended and clasped Mary?s hand in a gentle but meaningful handshake. Returning her look to him, he stared Mary directly in the eye, coming off as sincere as he possibly could to her. Wolvinator was a man of his word.

?I also appreciate your willingness to come to a mutual understanding on this matter, as well as being quite reasonable in regards to this entire matter. From talking to you, it is quite apparent that you have thought long and hard on this matter, and I appreciate you doing so. It has made this entire process go smoothly and diplomatically, and I?m happy that you?ve given me the opportunity to see my diplomatic side.?

?I appreciate your time Miss Read, and I look forward to perhaps working alongside you in the future. You have my word that there will be no more attacks on the members of your organization by me. If any mistrust or wrongdoings occur in the future, I will be coming to you personally, so that we may discuss and resolve the matter as peacefully as possible. I have your word, and you have mine, and that sets my mind at ease. Thank you.?

He slowly released his hands from hers as he let his hand drop to his side. Wolvinator bowed his head a bit to show Mary her well-deserved mutual respect he had for her. It had gone much better then he had initially anticipated. At first he believed he was a lamb being brought in for the slaughter by someone that he considered to be one of his closest friends in Rhy?Din, and now he felt as though a chapter had been closed and ended with the promise of peace. Looking back over to Faye now, he gave her a soft smile.

?This might not have been possible without your help Faye. I just wanted to say thank you for everything as well.?

Her handshake was firm; it had always been more like a man?s handshake than one you would expect from a lady. She inclined her head to him with a smile. ?Yes, diplomacy is a far more civilized way to resolve problems. I look forward to seeing you more in the future, I?m sure our paths will cross again.?

At this point she looked to Faye, ?Yes, thank you for all your help Miss Valentine. Perhaps we will contract your services again some time.? She reached out to shake Faye?s hand. ?It was a pleasure seeing you again. Though I have a feeling anyone would be happy to see a beauty such as you.? She grinned, ?Unless of course they had a bounty on their heads.?

?You two take care of yourselves. Marguerite will show you out now.? She motioned to the open door behind them where the secretary was standing quietly to escort them back out.

Madame Kiki

Date: 2007-11-12 18:41 EST
Madame Kiki didn't say a damn word. She lit herself a cigar; the butt of the clove was long since smoldering in the ashtray. She smoked quickly when she was on edge, and she didn't trust this guy at all, no matter what Mary said about a truce. The man had as much as admitted to being a hero, and what atrocity would that sort not commit? She didn't trust herself to speak civilly with the barbarian, so she did not speak at all.

One thing was apparent: she did not have a good enough reason, as of now, to feel justified in destroying him. As she reminded herself, it was not illegal to be an idiot. Though she had to restrain her face to prevent an eyebrow twitch when he'd insinuated that they were a front for something like the Mafia. Really, what the hell did he think constituted a criminal organization in a world which, last she checked, had no laws? There was hardly a substantial difference between a Corporation and a syndicate; at his age, he should know that.

Neither organization, however, was in the habit of killing people when there wasn't any profit in it. And Mary had as good as ordered her to let this disreputable fellow walk free. So she only smiled, tight-lipped, and gave him a little nod as though courteously (if silently) wishing him farewell. Actually, at this predetermined signal, a small wraith detached itself from her spectral retinue and floated to Wolvinator's side. It would not interfere in his life, but only watch... until it had witnessed a crime worthy of execution, and then the ghost would report back to her. Then Wolvinator would die, and she would put his soul in a shell box until she found a use for it. Though she was a lady and did not often dirty her hands personally with murder, she would do this one herself. As was proper.

She hoped for Wolvinator's sake that he had no affinity for wraiths. She pitied the person who could hear the little wraith shadowing him, whose name was Luisa. Luisa was four years old when she had died, and the horrific memory of the fire that had killed her limited her conversation to high-pitched sobs, whines, and whimpers. The poor lost lamb had gravitated to the Madame, a mother-figure who could see her, and would faithfully obey the wishes of Mama Kiki. And Wolvinator thought he could judge them - he who understood not a fraction of their work or their intentions!

She smoked her cigar, wondering what "Bones" was up to. Her mind was full of darkness, and he was the right person to talk to about it. He had a very refreshing take on justice, malice, and revenge; he believed (as the Madame did) that the three could be favorably combined. Let Wolvinator walk from here, free, without a price on his head. She could wait for a reason.
