Mary glanced in the mirror to adjust the tilt of her fedora. She had dressed herself in one of the lovely black suits Anne had purchased for her not so very long ago. With it she wore a pair of high-heeled black boots. Her brown hair was up in a bun except for a few stray tendrils. She brushed them behind her ear as she looked around the room, going over everything she wanted done before the guests arrived.

One of the cozy conference rooms had been prepared for tonight?s meeting. There was a round table with room to seat ten people, though not that many had been invited. But she wanted to make sure everyone was comfortable and had plenty of space. There were also some nice leather recliner chairs with small square tables off to the side where people could relax while they waited and socialized before or after the meeting.

There was an assortment of beverages: non-alcoholic, hard liquor, wines (the best of her Earth vintages as well as faye wine and blood wine) - just about anything that could be desired. The kitchen slaves had prepared a luxurious array of delicacies, should anyone be hungry. On that note her favorite slave Kimiko approaches and waited for instructions. Cally had brought the petite Asian girl home as a gift, shortly after creating the portal to old China. There was nothing left to be done, all was ready now

Mary smiled to her and gestured for her to sit down. The girl looked stunning in a silk kimono that Mary had purchased for her on their last visit to Earth. The memory of that trip hurt a little now, she missed Anne terribly?

Mary looked to the setting sun, her eyes a piercing, icy blue. People would be arriving soon. Marguerite had already left to go meet the guests and escort them inside the building. Since the shield had gone up it had been difficult to get in the front door. Confident that all was taken care of, Mary sat in her seat at the table and looked through her notes on this evening?s agenda. There was so much to be done once her friends arrived.

::He would make his way to the appointed meeting place, his eyes slowly looking upwards as he adjusted his tie and collar. He then looked about before finding marguerite. Smiling he bowed his head to her slowly, always being the polite one of course.::

Good evening my lady? Could you please take me to where the meeting is to be?

Marguerite eyed him almost suspiciously for a moment, scanning his aura and even smelling him as she moved closer. She was to make sure everyone was who they appeared to be. Then nodding and motioning him to follow with her index finger she led him into an apparently unoccupied building. She then took him inside one of the elevators. She pressed a series of floor numbers in the correct order. The elevator did not even seem to move before opening into one of the halls of the main building which led to the conference room.

Once she had taken him inside where Mary sat she would bow. Then gave a wink to Mary, letting her know all was well. Just as quickly as she had appeared she had left again to meet the others and guide them in as well.

Mary?s smile lit up her face as she stood and walked to Brandon. She took his hand tightly before pulling him close to embrace him. She wasn?t one for hugs but Brandon had become like family, and it had been ever so long since she had seen him.

?Thank you for coming love. I?ve missed you so.? She pulled back and looked at him, examining his face and expression in the quizzical way a mother might. ?I hope you?ve been well.?

:: His eyes blinking a bit to the smelling part he blushed softly before following the woman to the elevator. his smile keeping its light pace he would not look over Maguarite, no he would only look to her face before blsuhing and looking away when he was turned to::

:: Apon entering that room he would smile a bit more warmly to see Mary. When taken first by her strong grip and then by her hug he near wept with heartache from missing them both so much.::

Ohh Mary....I have missed you, and Anne as well. It had been so long I feared for a few moments I may never have seen you both again.

:: Being mortal as he was it was easy to fear being forgotten and left alone. The were his family...Mary...Anne....Even Madame Kiki. they were his only true family in this realm.::

Ohh..Mary how are you holding up though?....If I miss Anne this much. I can scarcely immagine how much you miss her.

Her face fell a little at the mention of Anne. Then a set, determined look returned once more.

"I'm doing well. Thanks for thinking of me but Brandon... You should never worry that I will leave you. Rhydin has become more a home to me then anywhere. I would never pick up and just go, especially without a word!"

"Things have been... difficult. But don't you fear for me. I intend to see to it that this company does well, and that all those I call my friends are happy and safe."

"I have an assortment of drinks and what not. Please help yourself while we wait for the others. If there is anything else you want, do not hesitate to ask."

...As for food and that..I'm not sure I should eat jsut yet. It..would be rude to start before everyone else has even arrived

Mary found herself smiling when he hugged her, as well as at the mention of Kiki. She was an old family friend you could say, and though she knew her mostly from formal occasions, she had great respect for the woman.

"Yes, she did say she would be attending. I expect her to be along any minute now the sun has set."

"Whenever you wish to eat you may; do not worry about being rude. Kimiko will be happy to serve you a drink whenever you are ready."

She motioned to the girl who had risen before he had even responded to Mary's offer. Kimiko bowed low to them but remained silent, awaiting any further instructions.

Madame Kiki

Date: 2007-10-13 02:54 EST
Madame "Kiki" Delfoart was shown in by Marguerite, chatting companionably with her about fashion over the centuries. The ghoul Marguerite and the unearthly Madame had become fast friends.

To those who could see him, her husband's ghost had come along to pay his respects. Jacques Delfoart settled into an empty chair and tipped his invisible hat to Mary. It was the thought that counted; Jacques was a polite man, and observed proprieties even with those who could not observe him.

Surprisingly (Madame Kiki was a solitary person) there was someone else with her: a black man of massive proportions, six foot five with shoulders like an ox. His silk top hat added another half a foot. He held a chair for Madame before seating himself, but gazed at her like an equal.

"Mary." Her smile was warm. "I meant to come see you earlier, to see how you were doing since Anne was called home. Unfortunately, work has been... eventful." She gestured to the silent, serious-looking man by way of explanation. "This is - a dear friend who is visiting." She exchanged a glance with him. "You may call him Bones." She did not explain any further, as there was not much more about him that she was at liberty to say.

"Evenin', Lady Mary," said Bones evenly, and returned to watching everyone with hawk-like eyes. It was hard to tell what color they had been, since both sockets glowed from within with the green phosphorescence of Kiki's death-magic. A closer look would reveal clotted wounds on either side of his neck, twin slashes through which the lifeblood of the body's former inhabitant had flowed. Though clearly no zombie, his black suit looked very much like someone had been buried in it.

Having dealt with the formalities, Madame Delfoart looked at Brandon, laying a soft hand on his. "M'sieur Morgan. You look well... I see you have survived without me, eh?" She beckoned to Kimiko. "Slave - a glass of wine for Brandon, and a jug of rum for my tall friend. I will have something to drink later." Her eyes lingered on Brandon's a moment, as one might look at a beloved pet. "I 'ave missed you, ma cher."

With a slight caress, she took her hand from Brandon's and waited for the words that she knew would fill the silence. She had learned patience from her long and productive life, and had seen from her work with the vessels of the dead that any emptiness called to be filled. Everything came around, given time.

In the chair next to her, a being far more ancient and powerful than she was taking a more direct approach to fate. Swallow by noisy swallow, Bones was emptying rum into himself, a look of great contentment on his face.

:: The Second Madame Kiki had entered the room his heart had nearly lept through his chest to rush towards her as his feet remained ever still. His eyes following in a dreamlike state as she moved those lips of his could not help but turn into a shybut very happy smile wen she turned to him and took his hands. To her words his cheeks turned to burning for a moment but his smile never left::

Madame Kiki....its been so long....so long since I had seen you. I.have missed you so terribly..I...I

:: With soft words he asked a simple but bold request for one like him as his body and fingers itched terribly to move:

Could..I hug you? Please Madame?

Mary had to raise an eyebrow at how well Marguerite and the Madame were getting on. Then of course there was the man with her? She greeted them both before going over to one of the tables and pouring herself a glass of wine while Kimiko was occupied giving the other two their drinks.

Mary was indeed surprised by the presence of Bones. But she knew the score; she was after all acquainted with Madame through their mutual connection to Pierre Couteau. She had to consider for a moment if she should question whether or not he should really be here. Of course, she admired Madame Delfoart for many reasons. One of those reasons was the way she had stepped up to defend Brandon. Though this was Rhydin, things were different here. In reality she need not answer to Pierre anymore.

But she had nothing to hide. There wasn?t anything she was doing that she really cared if anyone were to know. The whole reason for the precautions to get inside the Bonny Corporation was more for protection. After the last attack on the building she was going to be more careful. Aside from all that though? she respected the Madame?s judgment. She could let it slide for now.

She walked to the window and looked out into the darkness that had fallen. Sipping her wine she waited for Brandon and Kiki to have their reunion. It seemed it had been a while since they had seen each other as well. It also gave more time for anyone who was running behind to show up. She had not specified an exact time anyway.

It was however getting late. She began to wonder if the few others she had invited were going to be able to make it. A soft sigh escaped her lips with these thoughts. Though there were things she could get done with just the three of them? She had so much desired to see a couple more of her friends.

::She trailed in after the others, giving Marguerite a big 'ol smile, hoping she and Mary had liked the cookies she gave them. Although the batch wasn't as good as Lyndra's, Cadence was kinda patting herself on the back anyway becasue they were pretty good for her. The sniffing didn't bother her when it was her turn to be sniffed. In fact, she just thought it was the new perfume she just got::

Hello Marguerite! Oh, like my perfume? It's new. They call it Glow by Jay Low ... er... Jello. I'll bring yous some next time if you want. It's my favorite.

::She followed Marguerite in where the others were. She smile to Mary and gave her a hug. Being clueless as she was, she didn't know about Anne leaving::

It's good to see yous again Mary.

::Although she didn't ask, figuring the other would show later. she gave a polite nod and smile to Madame Kiki and the one wiht her. She could see the ghostly figure. In fact, she was used to seeing them as she worked for Ravensheart. The Headmaster often had his ghostly friends helping around the place. She just thought of them as...well, like anyone else. She saw Brandon and blushed a bit but moved to be by him. But he got up to talk to someone. she pulled out a picture from her pocket that she was going to give to him. It was a picture of him. Not hte best but she got a B in art class with it if for no other reason then effort. But the reunion he had with the other made her pause. Instead she put it on his seat and went to get herself some wine. She wasn't a drinker but it seemed just what she needed... She took a seat and waited for others to arrive and the beginning of this meeting::

Mary smiled brightly when Cadence arrived. She moved to greet her and hugged her back, closing her eyes for a moment as she couldn't help but remember the last time they had met.

"It is great to see you too. I'm so glad you could get away to join us. I know you are very busy. Oh, and thank you so much for those cookies. They were wonderful. Such a nice thought."

She took her seat with Brandon's seat being on her right. She gave a smile and gestured to Cadence to come sit by her as she patted the seat to her left.

"Please sit next to me. We'll be starting any time now, but first tell me how you've been. I know that you must be missing Bob about as much as I am..."

Madame Kiki

Madame Kiki looked fondly at Brandon. While she was not free with her body, Brandon of all people had earned the right to her touch. "Of course, ma cher," she said, and rose to stand behind him. Her arms went around his shoulders, holding him close a long moment. Having not fed yet, her chin on his shoulder was cold as death.

She whispered into his ear, "I have not forgotten. Once more. One more moment together, ma cher, and all will be... settled." She brushed her cheek against his as she rose, and flashed a devilish smile as she seated herself again. "But first," she said to everyone, "we have other business to take care of. It is lovely to see you, Mary cherie. But you have not called us here to ask about our health." She folded her hands and settled her long skirts, preparing to listen.

Bones leaned across the table to give the new arrival his full attention - Cadence, was it? "'Allo," he said to her, his voice like dark velvet, rhythmic with the same accent as Madame's. "Have you ever been loved by a god?" The tilt of his eyebrow highlighted that the question was, in fact, in offer.

Bones had a very unique approach to religion. He believed in enjoying life to its fullest, for the greater glory of Himself. His awesome powers were fully behind these goals. There were definitely some perks to divinity.

Calico appeared in the conference room beside Mary. She had considered coming in the front way, but she didn't get along with Marguerite. For any who were watching, there was no puff of smoke, no fade from black - she was simply there. Cally didn't often bother with things like physics or proper magic.

She was dripping with greenish water, and a shake of her long loose hair sent saltwater drops across everyone. True to form she was wearing a bikini top made of oyster shells, and a skirt made out of a bit of rope net. "Hi Brandon," she said. "Hi Rhythm." She waved to Brandon and Cadence. For people like Cally time didn't mean much, so she never missed anyone.

She flung her arms around Mary, snuggling her wet face against her mother. "Mary-Mary!" She danced around from one foot to the other, doing the joy-dance that she had learned long ago from Senor Gallo (a wise being who often shared his wisdom with her, or else beat the crap out of her.) "Ding dong, the witch is dead," she sang, enthusiastically but very out of tune.

For a moment her face became still, her eyes grave and serious, and in a musical voice she said, "I apologize for that comment. It was derogatory to witches and, I fear, inaccurate." She blinked twice and was her normal bubbly self again.

"I heard you were taking over the company," she explained in a rush, "so I knew Anne had to be dead! Did I miss the funeral? I came all the way back from Under the Sea to dance my happy-dance on her grave. I left the mer-people and put on legs - which no Witch gave me - to do the dancing with."

She nodded, confirming what no one had asked. "That's right! I've been Under the Sea. Communing with dolphins and making friends with mermaids, and speaking to rock lobsters in their ancient and beautiful language." She snapped her fingers, remembering. "Ooh! I brought you something, Mary!" She fished in her net skirt and came up with - a fish, purple-blue and vaguely triangular. It had not survived its trip from the sea. She shook it, trying to make it move again, then handed it to Mary.

She grabbed a glass of wine from one of the trays. "A toast! To the death of the wickedest b!@#$ in the West! Incidentally, does anyone know who my husband is?"

Mary was about to say something when she found a wet Calico appeared. She wiped some water from her face and turned to her daughter.

"Yes darling, it's good to see you too. You know nothing could make me happier. I had begun to worry about you."

She had found herself holding a dead fish. Looking over to Kimiko she said, "Kimiko could you be a dear and make sure this fish is somewhere safe?" The girl moved quickly and took the fish from her with care. "Thank you."

Deciding she shouldn't disillusion her daughter of the notion she had gotten which made her so happy just now, she thought fast. She thought it best to neither confirm nor deny what she had said. So she simply raised her glass into the air with her.

"Yes, let us all begin with a toast. To Anne."

She finished off her glass and then smiled at Cally.

"You know love, you really ought to check in a little more often. Why I have quite a while's of allowance to give you. With your mother um gone, I will see to it you have pocket money..."

With that she motioned to Kimiko who had just gotten back into the room. The girl wouldn't dare throw out the fish as it was a gift from Cally. She knew better then to presume do as such without being instructed, but she had indeed put it somewhere safe until Mary said otherwise. The girl moved forward, she was now carrying a sack of gold which she gave to Calico.

Mary watched Cally carefully for her reaction. With her daughter being so unstable you just never could tell when something would make her blissfully happy or burst into tears. Luckily Calico was generally inclined to be kind to Mary as she knew that Mary cared for her like no one else.

"Now, I've got some boring business stuff I must attend to. You are welcome to stay of course... I'll tell you what, how about we meet for drinks when I'm done?"

CalicoBonny

Date: 2007-10-14 18:05 EST
Cally wrinkled her nose at hearing Anne called her 'mother'. Didn't Mary realize that her real mother had been dead a long time, and that Mary was the only mother she knew? Anne had been her - well, her arch-rival, and that was that.

But Anne was dead, and everything was cool as kittens. Calico decided to approach Mary later about her mom's strange idea that she was related to Anne. She had done what she came for: the fish was delivered, her joy had been shared, and she had a big fat bag of gold. Cally usually shopped at an exclusive boutique (located in the trunk of a tree) where she was extended unlimited credit. But with money, she could shop at some of the other places too. It was time, she decided, for a celebratory cherry-red trenchcoat. And maybe some new boots.

"You take care of your business, and I'll mind mine," she said, giving Mary a passing peck on the cheek. "Drinks later, check. I'll see you in the Inn." She jiggled the bag of cash. "I'm buying." Cally wasn't quite sure why the Bonny Corporation had been giving her money for so very long, but she wasn't about to complain about it. After all, it wasn't like she was expected to do anything to earn it. Perhaps her allowance had something to do with love, a concept she understood imperfectly.

For a moment, she felt a pang of loss. In a way... she missed Anne. She missed having someone to hate. Hate is not the opposite of love, but the product of failed love. Cally shivered: she often got philosophical when she was sober. With a last little wave, she headed off to the bar to drink away her moment of unwelcome clarity.

"'Allo," he said to her, his voice like dark velvet, rhythmic with the same accent as Madame's. "Have you ever been loved by a god?" The tilt of his eyebrow highlighted that the question was, in fact, in offer.

She was going to say something but the only thing that came out was an audibly exhaled 'OooooH!' and her body wracked with shivers as the cold water was splashed all over. She got the brundt of it as she was standing right there. Blinkblink. She giggled quietly and wiped the salty water from her face before she sat down in the chair.::

::She was going to say hi to Cali, but kept quiet when she heard about Anne. She merely sipped her wine only to find it was gone. She glanced around and cast a spell to bring a fresh bottle of wine to her and poured herself another glass. She kept the bottle there beside her on the table::

Mary shook her head but as always, kept her composure. Visits from Calico never managed to surprise her no matter what she said or did. It was simply a fact of Mary?s life. Mary had done her best to nurture and guide Cally when she would allow. But right now, Mary had work to do.

?Please forgive my daughter, she is? full of spirit. Perhaps I should clarify for those of you who do not know and those of you who were possibly misled by the encounter with the young Miss Bonny. Anne is indeed alive and well. She has merely been called back to earth to attend to business there.?

?Since she is gone for an unspecified amount of time, she has decided it best for the company here in Rhydin to be owned and operated by me. While I am sure we will all miss her, we ought to take advantage of this opportunity to see what we can do to make the Bonny Corporation the best it can be.?

?There will probably be some matters I will approach in a different fashion then Anne. I do think that we should continue with Anne?s vision for the Carnival. Something that everyone can appreciate and enjoy: parents, children, and even swinging singles. With all the tragedy this place sees on a regular basis, I think letting loose and having some fun would be good for all the citizens in Rhydin; joy is contagious after all. We will come back to that shortly.?

?The first order of business: the company has many employees and associates but on top are the people close to me. I need the best beside me to aid in making the important decisions that will dictate our future. I have thought heavily on it and you are it.?

?Brandon, you were with me when we began this little family owned business. My ideas man, my scientific genius. I want you to keep moving forward with the excellent work you are doing. You have always exceeded any expectations. I want you to be my right hand man in everything. You are clever as they come and quick thinking when it matters most.?

?Madame Delfoart, my dearest and oldest family friend, we have an opening for a staff necromancer. I can think of no one more qualified for this role, and no one I?d rather have fill it. I would consider it a pleasure to work with you. You are talented and you stand up to pressure. You have a back bone of steel and I admire that in a woman.?

?And you Cadence, I would like to offer you perhaps the most important role of all. I need a spiritual advisor. This position can?t be filled by just anyone. It must be someone who will speak their mind, and challenge what we are doing. I?ve got the best minds working for me and I need someone who is a genuine good person that isn?t afraid to speak up with objections. I trust your heart and I trust that you will not just tell me what I want to hear; but rather what you know to be good. I need you to help guide the Bonny Corporation to be the best it can be morally, not just financially.?

?I know you have your hands full already and if you should turn this offer down, I shall understand. But please consider the good you can do here. I will only need you to come to meetings once in while and to consult with me on occasion. You will, of course, be well compensated for your time.?

Her eyes lingered on Cadence though she was addressing both her and Kiki now.

?I know I am putting you two on the spot here. But I am going to take the advice of my peers into the highest consideration in where we go from here. There just wasn?t time to do this any other way.?

?No one would be here if they weren?t people that I respect and believe I can trust. So, what say you two? Can I count on you??

::Cadence was so touched by the offer her eyes began to mist with tears. It was so wierd how things were going::

Mistress Sha'uri always told me I should take up a spiritual path. I wasn't very good with the books, but I understood things from a common sense and even from odd ways.

::She glanced to the picture she gave Brandon. That was wierd, too. She didn't know why she picked his picture to make but the fact that he was sitting on Mary's right and she was on her left.... there was something to that::

::And then what happened to Mistress Sha'uri and Lyndra... Poor Mistress Melody was left with the school all to herself and Cadence had helped her. There were other things that came to mind and they all seemed to point that she was on a path. What Mary offered seemed to direct her further along that way::

::She smiled remembering a day from a long time ago and she could still see Bob sitting across the table sipping his pepsi. It was the first time she ever had one of those nose tickling drinks. It had been a good conversation::

Carnival? ::she was clueless, or forgetful, but it sounded like fun:: Maybe I better get caught up then.

::Her smile was warm to Mary and she nodded to confirm she'd take the position::

Her hand curled around the doorknob of the door of the room. Better late than never, right? Her crimson lips spread into a smile as the door opened.

"Ah.... sorry I'm late... doin' this an' that, ya know?" Jade swiftly said as she wisped in. She was painfully rude, though she didn't mean to be. It wasn't how she usually was... but she hated to be late.

She crossed the room and pulled out a chair beside Brandon, tugging the skirt of her dress as she sat. She beamed at them.

"So, uh... what I miss?" She cleared her thoat and looked all business like.

?Staff necromancer?? she said, ?Don?t that beat all? Times sure have changed, haven?t they?? She remembered the days when openly admitting her trade would've put her in danger of the burning stake. She chuckled a bit and decided, what the hell. A dead girl might as well live a little.

?Sure,? she said to Mary. ?I?ll keep doing what I do. And you?ll pay me for it, eh? A good arrangement all around.?

"Miss Alana Daven. Present. And more or less accounted for."

"Correction...Miss Alana Daven...And guest"

Mary rose to greet Jade as she entered. ?Thank you so much for coming, Jade. I?m glad you could make it. So far we?ve just been establishing some new people joining our numbers.?

When Alana entered, Mary?s face absolutely lit up and she moved forward and kissed her on both cheeks with a smile. ?Alana, love. I was afraid you wouldn?t be able to come. And I?ve not yet met your little one. I didn?t know that you?d delivered yet, but here you are with a beautiful baby. Congratulations!?

She looked at Jade and Alana and motioned to the table where the quiet Chinese girl stood. ?If either of you would like something to eat or drink, we have quite a variety. My girl Kimiko can get you whatever you desire. I recommend the Faye Wine, it?s an excellent vintage.?

She looked around at her guests ? quite a full house. ?Everyone is here now, so why don?t I go around and make sure you all know each other.?

?Brandon here runs our Morgan Laboratories, and is our ideas man and scientific expert. You?d be hard pressed to find a problem that he could not solve. If you stop by the development sites for our entertainment venues, you?ll see a lot of clay men hard at work on construction. We have Brandon to thank for that.?

She gave a nod to Brandon before looking to Cadence. ?This is Cadence, who has agreed to be my new spiritual advisor. The company has suffered from bad advice in this respect in the past. I expect much better from our Cadence; she has a good soul and is not afraid to contradict me. I am confident she will help us keep the company heading in a positive direction, and am very pleased she has decided to join us.?

She turned her eyes back to Alana. ?Alana is my personal bodyguard, an arrangement that dates back to when Anne was running the Corporation. I would like her to resume her responsibilities as soon as possible.?

She then motioned to Kiki. ?This is the Madame Delfoart, who has just accepted the position of staff necromancer. There is no one I know who could be more qualified.? Her eyes moved briefly to the other man, who she had never met before ? but wasn?t there something familiar about him? She remembered a night of drinking some hundred years ago, and a friend of Kiki?s who had showed up mysteriously and disappeared as strangely? Wasn?t there something similar in the eyes, the manner, the voice?

Sticking to what she knew, Mary concluded, ?And this is? Bones, an associate of Madame?s that is giving us the pleasure of his presence this evening.?

Looking back to Jade, she smiled. ?Which leaves you, Jade dear. I would like you to be my new public relations manager. You know the people of Rhydin better then anyone. You would be perfect to bring me the voice of the people. Help me understand what they are thinking and what they want. You need only attend meetings once in a while and update me when you feel it is appropriate. Your salary is negotiable, but I can promise it will be worth your while. I like to keep all my employees happy? they are like family to me.?

?All the people you see here I would trust with my life. The Bonny Corporation has many associates and various field operatives, but these are our core employees. We have many options as to where to go from here, and I need the best on my side to help make these decisions. Everyone here is remarkable and talented, and I expect no less from you. Sound like a challenge you might be up for, Miss Jade??

Alana looked to Mary with a polite shake of her head to say no thank you to the wine offer. She shifted the sleeping babe in her arms so she could gently place a hand ontop of Marys. She smiled brightly and nodded.

"I would be honored to resume my post as your watch. Anne would have wanted it that way"

A certain sadness came to her face as she spoke of her former employer. Alana hadnt been there to say goodbye. She had so much to tell Anne. So much to show her. She sighed gently and shook her head trying to keep on her perk happy persona. She just returned to smiling.

"Ill need to be informed of the goings on since I have been gone. Would you mind catching me up Brandon dear?"

Those emerald hues fell onto him now. A pert smile on her face.

As Jade laced her hand with her brother's as she often did, Alana slipped in. She beamed seeing her... with child! Oh she had so much to tell her!!

But she turned her attention to Mary, still smiling brightly, "Public relations? Really? I'd be honored!" she paused, "And don't worry about paying me... That's just silly."

She pulled at her corset a moment, then looked back to Miss Mary, "Quite a lovely challenge actually. I love challenges. I'm up, boss."

Those crimson lips curled up into that smile of hers.

Mary arranged her notes in front of her. "Now let's get back to the current order of business: the Carnival sites which we have been calling "Heaven" and "Hell". We have some incredible ocean front property where construction has already begun. Project Heaven, the fun-fair, is located next to a bay, with some lovely beaches. There are a few islands in the bay, which are mainly set aside for luxurious, romantic bungalows."

"There is a river inland, which divides the fun-fair from cabins for adults. We expect this area to be popular with honeymooning couples and those who want to hide out and relax. We have re-located Project Hell to an old monastery - which the golems are working to update even now - so that it could be closer to our other operation. A path past the cabins leads to the monastery, which is ideal for our purposes: plenty of room, good stone construction, an outer privacy wall and an enclosed garden."

"Brandon, you will work with Madame Kiki on the construction of Project Hell; I think its real name is going to be Club Babylon. I want it to be a palace of decadence - food, liquor, music, exotic sex, quality drugs (I'm sure Kiki can advise you as to which are appropriate to provide.) I'm thinking that a separate lounge for drug use would be a good idea, with perhaps a small garden set aside for those on hallucinogens. We want there to be something for everyone, every conceivable pleasure, every imaginable fantasy. I have recently acquired a quantity of diamonds; Brandon, I would like you to make them into a chandelier for the entrance area, impressively balanced... I want everyone who first sees it to think they are dreaming."

She thought about what else they would need. "We?ll need plenty of servants and entertainers, as well as some plain-clothes security to keep the fun from getting completely out of hand. Lots of comfy nooks for couples to cuddle in - and also a room tiled with one-way mirrors, for those who prefer to be seen. We want to make sure the women are happy as well as the men, so we shall use entertainers of both genders. Having a separate section dedicated as a gentleman?s club and one just for the ladies would be nice, as well as a more diverse club for bisexuals and the like. We?ll need a dungeon for the BDSM folks; we want to cover as many fetishes as possible. I like the idea of having some smaller rooms set up for various other fantasies, people being able to wander from ancient Egypt, to the bottom of the sea, to a future-tech love nest... you get the picture."

"We?ll also need an attached hotel where people can hook up and have some more discrete fun - I'm thinking of a luxury love hotel. It would also be a place for people to spend the night after over-indulging, but they can pay the extra to pass out on satin sheets. Make sure it is as classy and comfortable as your creative minds can imagine. Remember that we have some amazing Chinese silks waiting to be used, as well as fine wood, ivory, and other materials that will serve you well in decorating."

She took a deep breath, and continued. "Now for Heaven: Brandon, I would also like you to work with Cadence on its development. We are tentatively renaming it Paradise Gardens. We?ll need all sorts of things to amuse children and parents both. We need reliable babysitters, activities on the beach, and other fun stuff like rock climbing. We'll need a few good restaurants, some sidewalk cafes, portrait painters, magicians, the works. The entertainers on this half will be just as essential: tasteful music, singing and dancing. Everyone should be on the look-out for good entertainers of any kind."

"There are also the islands. If we could set up a regular ferry we could use some of the islands for children's entertainment. Kids love boat rides and islands; it could also be educational, teaching about the sea, fish and wild life. Kids love animals so a petting zoo wouldn?t go astray either. Pony rides might be a good idea, unless we can figure out a way to tame unicorns instead."

"Brandon, besides organizing the golem labor, your main responsibility is to invent. Put your brain to work on any devices that will make the place great. We need hot tubs for the spas in the area where the parents can go to relax without the children. Club Babylon is going to need some hydraulics - for elevators, torture racks, adjustable beds, etc. Use your imagination, and collaborate with Kiki to brainstorm erotic uses for technology."

"Alana, you?re a new mother, so I'd like you to help with ideas for Paradise Gardens. Try and think about what you would like for your own family. If you could offer any input to either side, that would be great.... Your main duty, though, is to stick to me like a shadow. Marguerite is organizing a company nursery, so child-care will be available to you whenever you need it. This building is about the safest place we have mainly thanks to Bob?s shield. No one will get in uninvited."

"Jade, I need you to work with both teams. Give any pointers as to what you think the people want but your main duty is to put together a brochure. This is really important; it needs a description of the attractions with some impressive pictures. Something that will draw people in ? help me also think about advertising, ways to get the word out when we are ready."

"Any questions or suggestions come to me, and I will help with a bit of everything. I want this place up and running as soon as possible, but we want to create a legendary venue - the end result must be absolutely amazing. We have the great minds here, as many workers as we could possibly use, we can get any luxury goods we need and I will work on hiring talent. If anyone has any ideas for good candidates, point them out to me. Is everyone clear on what your responsibilities are?"

::Cadence was quiet for a long time, trying to let all that information sink in. She liked the name Paradise Gardens, it sounded like a nice place to be. She also thought about the other places Mary was talking about and what all she wanted them to do. It was a lot to take in::

It all sounds so wonderful, Mary! It certainly sounds like yous thought of just about everything. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head that yous didn't mention is to have people to help with medical emergencies like a medical team and maybe healers cause some people don't like the technology and others don't like the magic. But anyway, it's the only thing I can think of right now to include for both areas. I need to think on this some more, but this all sounds really great!! I'm so excited!

::Her pretty blues twinkled brightly and her wings fluttered ever so lightly. Even so, her face got a little sad and sobering for a moment::

I think we got a good team here. I knows I'm gonna be real busy at the school... Mistress Sha'uri and Mistress Lyndra had an accident. Mistress Sha'uri lost her baby so I gonna be real busy trying to help the Headmaster. But if yous need me and I don't seem to be around, please don't hesitate to come see me at Ravensheart Academy. Okays? Especially yous, Brandon. Yous let me know when yous ready to work on Heaven. And yous too Jade. If yous need me yous let me knows. I try my best cause I think this is all gonna be great.

::She nodded firmly::
