Early in the morn, just after dawn to be precise--- which mind you was far too early for anyone within the Ravenlock household to even be up, we find one Brian Ravenlock soundly asleep next to his wife Jenai in the bed they shared...
Well a bed they shared when work or something else prevented such sharing, which truth be told happened less as of late, with the couple having taken measures against such events.
Still work and duty still called to the pair on occasion... It seems that this morning, would be one of those occasions.
The phone rang, causing the man to turn in his sleep a bit.
Again it rang, and once more he turned.
The third ring seemed to be the charm, as a hand reached over to pick up the phone.
?Hello?? asked Brian in a rather confused and tired tone.
A voice on the other end, began to rapidly relay information which at first caused the tired Watch Captain even more confusion, as a hand lifted to wipe at that face of his in some attempt to wake him more so.
?Huh? Wait... Slow down... Alright, from the begin--?
Again the voice on the other end spoke, and this time things began to take hold better for Brian, as his eyes widened a bit in question. ?Bodies? Two? A boat on the shore? Fishing net??
The voice began again as Brian lifted from that bed, taking care to cover Jenai as she was not to fond of a lack of warmth. ?Alright, a boat washed up with two bodies... One on the deck, other in a next water logged. Got it.?
A search for clothing began as Brian continued, ?Let's lock the area down, and get some additional man power to assist the local District Unit there. I want the ID of the boat if we can get it, and let's check with the local harbor masters to see if we can get anything else solid. I want a time of departure for the boat if we can get it, hopefully it's registered somewhere. Also, let's get a hold of one of our local 'MEs' and have them respond, along with 'GIU'. Hold off on any next of kin, till I get there and we'll go from there. I'm en-route from my home. Also NO PRESS. Alright, see you there.?
Brian shook his head softly, as he set the phone down and finished dressing. Moving to the bed, he set the phone back to it's cradle and retrieved his duty belt and side arm, which was promptly strapped on. A faint smile to his slumbering wife, as he kissed that head of hers and then left a token on his pillow for her to find.
It was a token in the form of a small pewter shield... Something that Jenai would understand perfectly.
So to the scene the Watch Captain went, wondering how this would play out exactly as he did so.
