Myrlene was clad today not in her usual Valkyrie armor but a coat of ice blue scale male over a uniform of red panels, blue accents and trimmed in gold. The uniform would look like a jumpsuit for a fighter pilot on Earth. She'd stepped out of her black ATV and walked up to the doors of the 27th Special Divisions offices. Tucked under one arm were several thick, slate gray folders with official seals from Den City, Fang Wood City and many of the smaller outlying cities, villages and communities. The small Lupinossai, purple furred, red haired and looking about with crystal blue eyes would approach the front desk.

Her ears and head barely appeared above the edge of the front desk. "Ahem. I am looking for the Ravenlock Captains of this division." A badge and ID card would be tossed onto the desk's top. "Lieutenant Myrlene Wolf-Spiritor, DFLEA & LGM Forensics, part of BTF. I have documents for them concerning a recent drug bust involving Brimstone."

Well this wasn?t something you say every day, nope.

And that my friends was saying a lot, especially when it came to the ladies and gents of Rhy?Din?s somewhat infamous 27th Division & Special Operations Division. However, let us not stray too far, hmm? So, she had arrived, seemingly without incident which by all accounts was a grand way to begin ones term, especially with the 27th.

The desk officer, who mind you was basically fresh to the crew as well, took a look at badge first and then the ID card. Badge, then ID--- ID and then Badge. Back and forth, not to mention once more, just because. His eyes shifted to the small Lupinossai, then back to the ID and Badge once more, which were then tossed back towards Myrlene.

And then with what could be best described as a rather sardonic tone of voice he addressed her, ?Have a seat.?

That being said, he whipped around and began to fiddle with something else.

Something that didn?t sit well at all with the Captain who?d been watching the whole scene from roughly 15 or so feet away, dressed in civies.

So up to the desk, Brian went. Giving a rap to the counter top. ?Hey, yo.? He flashed a deft wink to Myrlene.

?Have a seat,? said the desk Officer, who never even bothered to turn around.

And again, a rap was given to the counter top. ?Hey, yo.?

?Listen here, I said have a ---?

There wasn?t much else to say as Brian reached over, taking the officer by the shoulder and whipping him around to face he and Myrlene. An audible gasping came from different angles, as others who?d been watching realized that the ^&%$ just got real.

?So is this how we welcome other LEOs here at the 27th? Did I somehow miss the memo, that says ?Let?s treat everyone like ^&%$, when they come in here--- especially LEOs? Let alone decorated LEOs who are actually documented as ?expected to arrive on today?s date?, namely that memo right there next to you??

Making a point, Brian reached over the counter and pulled the memo from its place. He set it before the desk Officer, with an assuredly raised brow as he righted himself. The desk Officer sprang to his feet, a salute sharply delivered as well, ?Sir I had no, idea! I assumed??

?You?re Clerridge, right??

?Sir, I am!?

?You like being here??

?Sir, I do!?

?You just in it here for a badge and gun, son??

?No, Sir!?

?I don?t believe that you?re here for just a badge and gun either, so let?s cut to the chase. You get one free ?make an ass out of yourself? card, and you just used it. That being said, this LEO here?was expected and is part of multi-agency operation, which if you had actually glanced to that memo you?d know about. She also mentioned ?Brimstone? which is a word that is not lost on ANY of us here, as we?ve been working those cases for over a year now. So here?s the deal, I?m not asking you or anyone else to know everything? What I am asking?no telling you, is that you need to use some damned common sense, you know the same common sense that showed us you wanted to be here to begin with, because if you don?t want to be here, you can pack up your ^&%$, turn everything else in and maybe work one of those lazy &*^% operations around the city, where you?ll end up a statistic. Or you can stay here, an actually do something.?

Clerridge just stood there?deflated and nodding. ?I?m sorry, Sir.? He then looked to Myrlene and saluted sharply, ?Ma?am, I?m sorry. I was rude and it won?t happen again.?

Just as that happened, a young lady came over and tapped the young man on the shoulder. He walked off, as she nodded to Brian and Myrlene, ?Sorry, Sir. He was my relief. I have the desk now.?

Nodding to the young lady, Brian then looked to Myrlene. ?Lt. Wolf-Spiritor, welcome to the 27th. I?m Brian Ravenlock.? His hand extended to her, as he offered a smile.

Lovely, this guy thinks I'm a kid dressing up. Myrlene thought as her ID and Badge was tossed back to her.

She made a mental note to have Commissioner Wolf and Governor Shieldar send a personal letter to the Captains about professional behavior of staff. Then again, she could just have Red pay a visit one night to the officer while he's on duty. Myrlene actually entertained that idea as she took a seat, thick file folders in her lap and she crossed her arms, fixating the desk officer with a look that made the Ice Age feel tropical.

Myrlene's furred brow ticked up several degrees seeing a civilian give her a wink. She studied him close and watched the scene play out with Clerridge. So that was Captain Ravenlock? One of them for sure, she'd heard about another with what was often described as having feline qualities. Seeing Clerridge get dressed down was enough satisfaction for her to withhold her mental note, for now.

She touched a light salute to Clerridge as he made his apology, but said nothing back. Her agency had a different view on apologies and bravado. She'd let Clerridge figure it out the next time it happened. Myrlene stood, tucked files under her arm and gave Brian a firm handshake for such a small hand. A hand well versed in multiple weapons and arcana.

"Thank you for the greeting, Captain Ravenlock. It is a pleasure to be working with the 27th. As you know already, I am with Den Fang Law Enforcement Agency and a Lupinossai Glade Marshal. I have some very special business to discuss with you, sir, about Brimstone as well as documents I am sure your division is eager to devour." She said to Brian with professional courtesy.

For someone small of stature, Myrlene carried about her the air of someone 6 feet tall and quite capable of making anyone kneel to her level. Then again, the Captain was sharp. She'd read the file the task force had on him. More than likely she had a bit of family clout backing her diminutive size as well.

Myrlene would offer the file folders to Brian without further hesitation.

"I don't need to explain just how bad Brimstone is getting to be in the outer cities Captain Ravenlock. Cases of addiction have rocketed from 10% to a staggering 70% in over six months time. What you are holding is all the medical records, data and known contacts we have on the streets dealing with Brimstone and a variety of variants. I hate to say this but if our estimates are correct, there possibly eight more variants unidentified out there on the streets.

You're team wouldn't happen to have any solid leads on what brought this drug here, would you Captain?" A light growl whispered under her breath. It was not aimed at Brian but more at the entire situation.

When Brian flips through the records, he would see six months worth of patient records from rehab centers, convicted peddlers, official death certificates of many addicts that did not survive and the last file was the crown jewel.

When he looks at the last file Myrlene would speak again. "Our top forensics technician compiled the list of known Brimstone variants and their effects. As to any cures for them, it is proving difficult as some seem to vary in potency witch each lot or batch made by these street dime peddlers. Red, as I will call our techy, has also compiled an index for the street slang that lets users get their hands on the desired drugs."

Within the last file folder held by Brian would be the following summary of Brimstone:

The folder was taken in hand as Brian replied, ?No Lieutenant, you most assuredly do not explain to me how bad it?s been, especially since we?ve hit two warehouses that were using children as mules to shift the product around the city. That information is being compiled for you and yours as well, along with everything else I have, since this whole ^&%$-storm started, back when.?

Brian opened the folder, its contents were scanned carefully. ?As to what ?brought? this into the city, no?we have no idea. But I?ve a good place to start?and here it is actually.?

An officer approach, holding a sizable folder in hand. Quickly she passed it to the Captain, flashed a smile and salute for the Lieutenant and then took her leave. ?Here you are. This File has everything I had received from the get go, when I was first contacted two years ago. I have some additional date compiling as well, that?ll soon follow.?

Looking over the files in hand, a brow raised somewhat as Brian quickly skimmed over everything. ?Damn, this is? A lot, to take in. I had no real idea, it was this extensive. When we first came into this, there were a few incidents and then it just up and vanished. Then a few months ago, we got the tips in regards to the mules. At this rate, with the area of effect for these variants, we could be looking at--- this isn?t good. I need to try to get a hold of Vel, again.?

Blue eyes lifted to Myrlene, ?Have you ever come across that name before? Vel??

Myrlene Spiritor

Had Brian asked about her knowledge of 'Vel' before she read the file handed to her, she would have said no. However, the Captain may notice something intriguing about the Lieutenant. She was quite silent, her tri-tipped, canine ears flicking back and staying in an expression of either anger or irritation. She read over the reports and the findings and re-read them again just to be sure her hunch was valid.

Myrlene closed the file folder and looked up at Brian with a mixture of concern and a look of deciding how far to trust the Captain with what she was to say next.

"A person named Vel, I do not know by that name, Captain Ravenlock. I do, however, know of a person named Ivy by way of Red, our Laboratory Technician. Ivy seems to match some oddities that Red has brought up to me about the time your contact vanished. Red.... I believe may have.... personal and close knowledge of 'Vel' if he is the same person as 'Ivy'." she said carefully.

Looking down at the file, she fidgeted a moment. "As you may be aware, our agency uses code names to keep our staff safe in public when off duty. Thumper is our current DFLEA Commissioner, Orion Wolf. Mine is Valkyrie and Red, well...." She looked at him again. "How well do you know my mother, Ammy Spiritor?"
