The WestEnd 27th

The Rhy'din Militia.. For over a year and a half, this local Military organization acted as a first line of defense against those who would see to set forth chaos, and worse upon the citizens of Rhy'din. While not a truly officially recognized military arm of the law, the Militia did what it could within the realm of their limitations, and cooperated with the Rhy'din Military. They were even recognized for their services on the behalf of the city and were given funding in turn to expand and even recruit.

In time, the Militia had a force that in number stood toe to toe with the actual Rhy'din Military, and in doing so the Militia was granted jurisdiction powers in regards to events that occured within the walls of Rhy'din, which freed the Military to deal with things outside of the City itself and know that things within the Rhy'din were well in hand. Shortly after the Militia was merged with the Military at the request of local governing officials, and commanders from both sides.

Changes were in store for both the former Militia and Military, which were now known as the 'RMF'; Rhy'din Military Forces. With the added forces of the former Militia, the RMF had the man power it needed to hand not only problems that faced Rhy'din itself, but also outlying neighbours as well. However, not wanting to spread the RMF too thin and leave Rhy'din wide open, the governing bodies deemed specialized units be created to handle events both domestic and aways, that were deemed too sensitive for the RMF to handle. Most notable among these units was the 'Rhy'din Special Forces' or 'RSF'. While the RSF unit had already been a unit with the former Military, it took on a whole new meaning and direction when the merger took place.

The RSF unit was comprised of various personel from all active military units, and even some civilian operatives. Some retired Military personel also acted as consults, and commited to logistics when needed. The RSF itself was not considered a 'true' branch of the Military save in name only, and while personel were assigned to it, it was always stated as a 'secondary class and specialization' in their dossiers.

Most operatives have common day to day jobs that hardly show they are part of this specialized unit until they are activated, while others wear their 'RSF' badges openly as they are part of the 'face' for this unit, and deal in the day to day. Regardless of what their other roles are in regards to their Military service, each of these unit members are experienced personel, and highly capable. Each specializes in a particular field, as the unit covers a myriad of 'events' domestic and aways, also including escort duties for governing officials and dignitaries, colour guard detail for government related functions.

Their main base of operations aside from 'RMF' HQ is the WestEnd 27th Division garrison, located.. Well in WestEnd. This was in response to the growing activities as of late in the area, namely the 'WestEnd Murders', 'Vanishings' and more so. It was deemed this garrison and lock up facility would serve as a perfect base of operations for the RSF, so while it looks to be a typical Military hall, it is indeed far from that.

The 27th Division of the RMF/RSF is headed by one Capt. Brian Ravenlock, who was given this rank and command by Commander Jarlell in response for his service in the Mercenary division, and results from that service. He is seconded by Lt. Epona, RSF battle steed batallion head. Both of these officers maintain their RSF status at all times, and can be found between the Garrison and HQ, they also can be found at City Hall as well, as the need warrants.

Also serving under them is Cpl. Kerrithra aka 'Kerri', who specialized in covert operations, and tracking. 'Yugo' who is currently detached to the 'MarketPlace' Garrison under Commander Jarlell. While others serve, their identities and stories will be told in time, as this one is just beginning.

<<Alright, basically this is an open thread as we are looking for people to join in this venture, it is not an obligated dealing, just think of it as a 'reserve' type deal when a person can get activated for duty and report in, this is a post deal for the moment, and some live play is comin down the pipe, we are very open in regards to character types and love a good diversity, as it will equal some awesome play. So feel free to leap on in, be it visiting, bailing someone outta jail, or offering services.!>>

"Alright people, settle down! Come on now, settle down!"

"Come on ya mooks, settle the f*ck down! The Boss has somethin to say, come on now! Hey! Don't make me come over there! Okay, Boss! They're all yours!"

"Thanks, Kerri. Roll call."

"You and me, Jes, O'Rourke, Narin, Edea, Thompson, Katarl, Tsubioshi present. Crablicious, Epona and Yugo are all out on assignment, but will be briefed."

"Gotcha, and thanks."

"So what is such a mess this time, that leave was cancelled indefinitely, and the lcoals are are being such a bunch of tight lipped pricks?"

"Try a new body count of nearly 55 dead, and little else save what's left of the bodies, a few witness remarks and possibly undead involvement. Everyone look at the files before you, and understand this is strictly classified to the highest order per Command, and higher.

This discussion does NOT leave this room under any circumstances. We have crime scene pictures, autopsies, witness remarks and whatever else the locals could dig up. Honestly in the scheme of things it wasn't much. Take a moment and let me know what ya think."

Quieting down, the Commander of the Rhy'din Special Forces 27th Div. watched his unit at work, as each went over the files, paper by paper. His own thoughts went to his meeting with district command just hours before, and their own words to him.

"Commander, we cannot have this kind of monster running unchecked in our city, do you know what the people have had to endure this last 6 months!? Of course you do, you were there! WestEnd, and now this! What is causing this madness!? Who or what are the 'Friends of the Abyss' and why has this happened to our people!? I know, I know you don't know, but from this point on, you WILL do whatever it takes to assure protection of our citizens in WestEnd and further more, see this crisis to it's resolution, in whatever form it comes to.

We do not care how you and your people do it, just get us answers! No leave will be taken, no other assignments taken, nothing! We need everything you and your staff can bring to the table, and use whatever measures you deem needed, we will cover any collateral damage, as best we can.

It's bad enough we have vigilantes assaulting WestEnd, on a weekly basis, and now the citizens are praising their efforts to boot! It's taken months for this WestEnd Murder mess to calm somewhat, and now we have this mess, this.. Senseless.. gods man, get out of this office and get to work, everything you need is waiting for you in the receptions office. Now do not come back until this is resolved!"

Brian nodded thoughtfully a bit, as he looked among his staff once more. Each was hand picked for particular talents, and he hoped to add more to this collective in the way of mercenary hirings, since command advised he could do what was needed. A glance more so at the pictures before him, as he shook his head a bit. Across the room he heard the sound of someone wretching, and letting loose as they sicked up and made for the nearest trash can. A soft sigh escaped the Commander's lips, as he addressed the group once more.

"Well, that says a lot. Wipe your face, and have a seat again. We have several layers to address here. First and foremost, we need to identify this 'Friends of the Abyss', second, we need to track down some kind of true lead here, I mean someone who is f*cking alive and will talk, damn it.. Third, we need to reclaim these streets somehow, we have had one precinct attacked, and lynchings of citizens. This needs to end somehow.

I have already set in motion to have squads regulars assemble with us, as we do not have much time and I will see whatever else I can pull out of my ass. Tsubioshi, Thomson.. You are on ID'ing these bastards, everyone else, your assignments are included in your folders, and Kerri you are with me, it's time to see these places for ourselves.

Saddle up people, it's time to earn your paychecks!"
