The Watch House for the 27th Division of the Rhy?Din Watch and Localized Militia ? Special Operations Division : Front Desk

?Simms, I hope there?s a good reason that this report somehow made it to my desk, and by reason I hope it was a mistake.?

?Captain Ravenlock, Sir! It was not a mistake, Sir. It was actually a request, to have this personally forward to this unit and more so Sir--- your desk.?

That dark brow raised ever so much, as Brian simply stared at the young watchman, who in turn began to regret his decision to even forward the report. Thus a game of glances had begun, as Simms looked away a bit, which in turn caused Brian to look at the report? From the report, he glanced to Simms, who in turn glanced to the report. Back and forth they went for a few minutes more, as the young man finally opened his mouth to speak, which caused Brian to lift a hand in protest. ?It?s alright, Simms. I see why this was forwarded to us??

Making the point clear, Brian showed the name of the reporter and a small waxed seal that was placed next to said name. ?See this? They always think doing this will get them some more attention, or something. I?m more of a severed head man myself, nothing says ?look at me? like a severed head.?

?Or a piked body, yo! Fist Buuuuuump!?

The loud proclamation caught the attention of both Brian and Simms, not to mention anyone else in ear shot. The source was one Kerrithra Al?Tuatha, self proclaimed Queen of Mithra Mayhem and one of Brian?s lieutenants. She was also a member of the ?Special Operations Division? under the command of Brian. Much to Brian?s chagrin at times, Kerri was also one of the more popular Watch members, more than likely due to her antics and maybe some charity work she did as well. Perhaps, it had something to do with her youth action community, aka the ?Lostest Kids?, which carried a heavy presence in the area, assisting with ?at risk? youth. Course the cat ears, and tail didn?t hurt? In any event, that was Kerri in a nutshell.

Fist bumps taken and returned with a fangy grin, Kerri came to a stop next to Simms and gave the lad a hearty pat on the shoulder. ?Simms! Sup home skillet! So why the hell you been dodgin? me, man?? Simms just stood there puzzled as all get out, and thankfully for the young man, Brian intervened.

?Not now, Ker. Simms was going over this report with me. It came to our office.?

?Our office, as in ?our? office?? The mithra?s eyes widened, as she snagged the report right out of Brian?s hand with a grin. ?Yoink!?

Seeing a moment of escape, Simms looked to Brian who nodded rather quickly in reply and that was more than enough for the Watchman who took his leave with a vengeance.

?The hell is this some kinda joke, Bri?! A demon cat!? Are you sh*tting me, dood!??

?You forgot the part about the bald spot on its rear end??

?Wait a bare @ssed demon cat!? What kind of sick ^&%$ is that!??

Brian stood there a moment, really wondering if Kerri actually----

?This is some sick ^&%$ right here, Bri! You gotta let me take this one, man!?

?Kerri, I don?t know if this is even--- I mean we deal in---?

?Dood! You gotta let me look into this! I?m tellin? ya, you want me to take this!?

The look of determination on Kerri?s face told Brian what he needed to know. That this was no joke in her eyes, and she sincerely wanted to handle this report. After a bit of pondering, Brian did what any sane man would do when encountered with a stubbornly hellafied Mithra? He relented.

?Alright, Ker? This one?s yours. Look into the ?demon cat? and let?s see where this goes, alright? But let?s keep the collateral damage down, and let?s not make this a huge public spectacle. That?s the last thing we need.?

?Thanks, Bri. I got this, yo.?

Kerri turned and headed on out, leaving Brian to wonder what the hell she saw in that report and the picture someone had taken of the supposed ?demon cat?. Whatever it was, it had the Mithra?s full on attention indeed, and if it were something malicious Brian felt bad for whoever caused it. Then again, it made Brian the more thankful it didn?t happen on the water?

Cause that would mean Jesse handling it, and that thought alone had Brian shiver with a deeply rooted fear indeed.

Thank the heavens for small favours, no?

?Hmmm. Hmmm. Yes? Yes? I see? Go one, what else happened??

Meow, mew? Mroooow, hsssssss! Meow, mew, mew.

?Y?don?t say? Really? Right there??

Meow!

?Hey, ya don?t gotta be rude about it! But I?ll forgive ya, seein? as ya got a burnt rear end on account o? whatever the heck zotted ya good.?

?Mew??

?Wha? Nah! It looks just fine! You?ll be back to normal in no time!?

Mrow?

?Dood I?m tellin? ya, the other cats won?t make fun of ya. Hey those are the guys over there, the oldies??

Meow!

?Alright, momma here?s gonna grill ?em and have a look around. You stay outta trouble, and no harassin? that new fishmonger that set up down the road, dig? Momma?s watchin? ya. Now get outta here.?

The burnt butted feline just padded off down the road, leaving one Kerrithra Al?Tuatha, the self proclaimed ?Queen of Mithra Mayhem?, back to the task of investigating whatever the heck had happened a few days past, in regards to the cat with the burnt buns. And investigate is what she would do!

?So peeps say they?ve been swatting at something small lately, and it ain?t no insect and the cats say they?ve been zotted. Swatters got zotted too? Hmm?. Guess we can rule out Pigmy Albino Vampiric Dust Bunnies for the moment. Could be a Parasprite with a bad disposition or an ax to grind. Wonder if any kids saw anythin? good, or something?.?

Producing a rather large magnifying glass and butterfly net, Kerri began to roam the Marketplace in hopes of find out something solid in regards to what began as the case of the 'Bare @ssed Demon Cat?.
