(To see a bit of backstory, please check out Shadowrun Chronicles - Doctor, Doctor...)

Previously in the Stars End Bar...

Brian settled up next to Raye, "Alright, you want something to do... I got something for you to do, if you're game. We rez'd the EMS unit for the Market District, however I'm taking it a step further. I want a Tactical Medical Response Unit, Raye. I'm talking heavily armed an' armored for Tactical Situations that will require an immediate medical intervention, in the cases where evacs are not an option. This is to serve the public and also my special operations unit at the 27th. I think personally-- you'd be a good fit there, Raye."

She listened to what Brian was proposing. "Tactical Medical Response eh? Stuff where Evac is not an option. Field surgery and all, I imagine." She mused, "Got my interest. When you want this show running?"

Wolvie was, of course, listening to the proposal. Operations such as this easily peaked his interests.

"You imagine correctly, Raye. The 'TMR' will be based out of the 27th, but will serve wherever we're needed and support the other stations in the city too. I'm headed things on the temp, but I'm no doctor, Raye. I need someone who has their head an heart in the game and more so-- someone that's not afraid to do what needs to be done, to get the job done. Your name came up more than once, that's why I came all the way out here. So see if you want to play with us."

"Sign me up, coach." She murmured in response, her interest peaked and she wasn't a behind the desk type.

"Solid, Raye. Drop by tomorrow, we'll get you set up. I'm looking forward to working with you."

And tomorrow has come...

The morning finds the good Doctor stepping into the main foyer of the 27th. Today found the Doctor in professional style dress as she made her way to the check-in desk. Those cyber-eyes were taking in her surroundings as she waited on the desk officer to get a spare moment.

When she finally had that attention she spoke up. "I'm here at the request of Captain Ravenlock."

The conversation from the previous night was still fresh in Brian?s mind, mostly because he had been working ever since he had left Raye and the Admiral at Star?s End. Literally, the boy had been pouring each and every bit of logistical data he had on hand, in regards to the Tactical Medical Response Unit that he had begun work on a few weeks back, much to the chagrin of his wife, who-- while very understanding and quite supportive, still did not like the fact that Brian worked as much as he did. Still she understood all too well, because she had done much of the same when she had taken the first steps in founding the ?CoS?.

So work Brian did, going through several applications and supplemental background checks (on and off world), equipment requests, response data collections and gods know what else. He decided that he would have a direct hand in dealing with this for the time being, because truth be told the unit was still in its infancy and there weren?t too many other he would trust with such a work load for the moment. Still that aside, he knew he would most assuredly have to depend on others, if this units goals were to come to fruition. Others such as Joe, Gina and Raye.

Speaking of which, it was Raye?s voice that caught Brian?s attention, somewhat snapping him awake on that couch in his office.

It took him a moment, or three to get it together as he adjusted his shirt a bit and looked for those spectacles he was so damned fond of. They were found?atop his head, actually?

So that being said and done, out of the office poked the head of the Watch Captain as he called out. ?Doc, good to see you. Gimme a sec, I?ll be right there.?

?No Mas Pantalones, muchacho!!?

Hearing that from down the hall, Brian quickly replied. ?Shut it, Ker!?

?Aye chi wha wha!?

And Brian just facepalmed with a sigh? ?Gimme a few Doc, an we?ll get you up to speed.?

He slipped back into the office, and closed the door.

?El Tengo Un Gato en mi Pantalones!?

Down the hall Kerri was once more firing off her Spanish, much to the dislike of others who just groaned.

?El Tengo Un Gato en mi Pantalones!?

Now even though Portuguese and Spanish were both Iberian Romance langauges, it was rather difficult to translate one using the other. Though Doc, though her Capoeira training, was fluent in the Portuguese and rather amused with the Mithra.

"Of course, Brian."

She gave a nod to Brian, seeing that life was about to get very interesting again. Good...

Life was not about taking shelter in the rain, it was about learning how to dance...

And that was one of the few things the Doctor was. There was a soft humming.

"(vs)Parana Paranaue, paranaue, parana

Snickering quite obviously at the suffering of her co-workers, Kerri continued to do what Kerri did. Since Bri was busy pretty?in himself up, Kerri took it upon herself to get everything ready in the meeting room, so they could get Raye?s ball rollin? like a boss. So back and forth she went, up an down the hall way as she toted things back and forth. Some rolled up maps, a box of dossiers, schematics for the gear they currently had and some of what they were working with Joe the Mechanic on. There was also a vintage speak n? spell, and what may have very well been an 8 Track tape player, but the jury was still out on that one.

Anywhoo!

Kerri wrapped everything up and made her way back to the Lobby, ?Yo, Doc you still here??

Seeing Raye there, Kerri purred off a fangy grin. ?Bri?s in there getting? his hair did or somethin?, so I?m gonna take ya back to the room where the magic happens and we can get this picnic started. Oh yeah, an two things, Doc. ?How strong do you take your coffee, an are you a vegetarian??

Emerald orbs remained on the Doctor, ?Pop Quiz Doc, whatcha got??

?How strong do you take your coffee, an are you a vegetarian??

"Coffee is light and very sweet and preferably not that soykaf slag." She had the grace to look aghast at the next question, "Frag no, I'm not a tree hugger. Give me a burger any day."

?Pop Quiz Doc, whatcha got??

That peaked her attention, "Other than a Baretta 200st? You'd have to be more specific?" The tone was light, even though she was serious.

The doctor made her way into the indicated conference room. Her interest was drawn to the materials already inside.

?Hey Bri, she's a meat eater, so can we keep her?!?

!?

?An she shoots stuff too, now I wanna keep her!?

Kerri twirled a bit, and waved her arm like a showcase game girl host, ?An here we are Doc, gave a gander at what we got here and Bri'll be here in a sec. You need anything you lemme know, kay??

An like that, Kerri was gone. *Poof!*

?Jes like Batman! Wha hahaha!?, the words were heard down the hallway.

Now as to those materials, Raye would find several dossiers spread about the table. Also present were blueprints, some were for an existing station house and the other, for a new one. She's also see vehicle schematics, some were dated older and some were marked 'TBR'- To be released. She's also see some older case files of the medical nature, a few of which required tactical interventions, some of which didn't go as well as they could have.

There were also equipment specs, alone with tactical contingency plans pertaining to the Mutual Aid Pact, the 27th had with the City of Rhy'Din.

"Nananananannanana, Batman..." She sang just to egg on Kerri. She was having a bit of fun with this and Kerri made it easy to relax.

The Doctor settled into business reading through the paperwork with a nod. "Damnit it, Slicer, I miss your ugly face." She murmured softly. Granted Mystique teamed with the Samy more, she still enjoyed the company. "You would have appreciated the combat gear." She would probably have to reach out to Mystique to see if some updates could be had. Without a proper rigger, this would feel to her like using bubblegum and duct tape.

She set those pieces aside and looked at the medical case files. Including the attack at the Festival of Fine Arts, where she had been a witness along
with the SVU Watch member. That had been a trying time and luckily between Rachel, herself and Batten's Security Team, that situation with Renna could have been catastrophic instead of just a disaster.

She did see where lapses in communications and even training could have made a huge impact on the causalities in each of the cases. Even her own injury, had there been a proper emergency network, she might not have ended up paralyzed... She did see some holes and her own case files and grabbed a piece of paper. No one really did approach her for a statement on that one, granted it was yet another situation involving Renna after all was said and done there. She wrote a brief paragraph, sort of a victim statement.

It should be noted that the victim was subjected to healing magics that further exacerbated the injuries, contributing to the victims subsequent paraplegia. Victim has gone on record as stating she has a diagnosed intolerance to magics, as tested by physicians at Boston Medical Center, UCAS.

Seeing Kerri head on down the hall, Brian made his way towards the conference room. His eyes caught sight of Raye as she began to peruse some of the documents, so he paused just inside the door way, letting the Doctor have at it, so to speak. Nodding to himself a bit, he liked what he saw when it came to the ?Doc? and her cut. A brow somewhat raised, as he noted the file she was paying particular attention to. As she finished her writing, he moved into the room.

?She is?unfortunately one of the very reasons these divisions were formed, Raye. You know something? I?m one of those like yourself that don?t do well at all, when it comes to magickal healings. An that?s a lot of what I want to work on?a collective data base with little factoids like magical intolerance, allergies and things of that nature. I think it would best help us in the long run, not to mention a lot of the local medical centers as well. I also know that you personally have some stake in that as do I, in the fact that we?ve both been adversely effected by rash healings? People meant well, but it didn?t do so good for us, and I know we?re not the only ones. But that?s just one of the reasons I wanted you on board.?

Pausing next to her, Brian offered a nod. ?So you see some of what we have so far, Doc. I know you already have ideas in that head of yours, so I look forward to working on them.?

Stealing a glance to the file on Renna?s incident Brian added, ?For the record?Renna is also one of the reasons, I am even here today. Especially after losing my own hand, and part of my leg. She and someone else, worked very hard to put humpty back together. Least that?s what Kerri says. When she?s good, she as good as they can get?when she?s bad? I?ve only seen my wife as anyone that even comes close, when she?s pissed. No excuses for Ren, Doc. We?re not all saints, none of us ever were, I imagine.

Pausing a bit, he continued.

?That aside, the field is always changing Doc? I aim for us to try to be ahead of the curve as possible, as impossible as that sounds. For that?we need you, and we need others.?

She nodded a bit, "I have quite a medical database already assembled from my time, with related allergies and the like. Magic made a resurgence hardcore and we have been behind the ball to catch up on metahumans like Elves and Trolls." She tapped her head as she said it. "The Corp gave me a few enhancements growing up including biohancing my brain."

She considered much of what he said before continuing. "I still have some contacts as well. I can see what else we might need." She gestured to the vehicle designs. "The larger vehicles are good if we need a base of operations during a large scale emergency, but for fast respond within that Golden hour... No, they too big and cumbersome."

She continued thoughtfully, "DocWagon has been known to use Honda Vector Motorcycles for fast response in urban areas." She added as a suggestion. "Especially if we need to get a medic into a tight area. Not all the streets in Rhydin can handle a huge vehicle rumbling down them."

She looked over some of the other paperwork in thought.

Taking everything Raye had said, Brian nodded with a smile. "I like it Raye, I like it a lot. We have smaller vehicles in the works, I'd like you to come with me and meet Joe Shadetree, he's gonna handle the work on the new med vehicles. I'd really like you to specify to him exactly what we are going to need, and also the bikes. I think those will work out nicely."

Brian went quiet once more, letting her continue.

"That sounds like a plan, Captain." She said with a brief smile.

"Do you have files on the people that will be on this team? I would also like to get to know a bit about them as well."

She considered the files as she spoke. The files from the two incidents on that table. "I know a kick artist you might be interested. She's good with a rifle and a scope... For an elf."

There was that cheeky grin.

?The files I have on current members are in that stack there to your right, Raye. Next to that are the parties I am considering for the Tactical division, so far.?

Moving closer to the table, Brian tapped on a 3rd stack of files. ?These are people I am rather interested in, be it full time or even an ?on call? type of deal. An these over here, this small stack---these are the ones we lost, that I still keep in contact with. I did talk with Serah Farron, but given her current status, it's better that I did not extend the offer. So you can disregard her file, for the moment.

His eyes shifted to Raye once more, ?I?ll never turn down a good hand or two, Raye. Especially, if they have some good ears an hands to boot. So bring ?em on in, and let?s see what we got.?
