The young man would find himself quite transported to a whole new world when he entered the Alchemist's Fire. Magical items festooned the shops many display cases and book shelves. The heady and teasing scents of reagents for alchemy enticed shoppers to come and examine their quality. A few customers may be seen in the corner library nook reading or chatting while sipping hot or iced tea. The smell of fresh cookies added a home touch to the scent heavy land scape as well as advertisement for hard liquors and mundane refreshments.

Ammy was not out in the commons with the customers, but instead behind a solid wall of smokey gray glass with no apparent entry. She was working away on several orders at once it would seem. A sleeping phoenix roosting on the cash register would wake and fix the young man with keen intelligent eyes.

"Welcome the Alchemist's Fire where dreams and nightmares come true. How may my mistress serve you today, young man?" the phoenix spoke.

He squinted his eyes under his shades as he looked around the store. He stepped inside and closed the door behind him, taking his sunglasses off and jamming them inside his left pocket. He took a few more steps inside and sniffed the air, there were certainly some interesting scents. His gaze settling on the woman behind the gray glass before he felt eyes on him and turned to look at the phoenix which he had previously overlooked. His eyebrows narrowed as he heard the bird speak.

"Uh..." he looked around to see if anyone else thought a speaking bird was odd. The environment was peaceful enough but the bit about nightmares coming true was a tad unsettling. "I was just, uh, here to see about. What was it? Alchemy workshops?" He looked at the phoenix curiously, waiting for it to speak again.

"Ah. Have I ruffled your feathers young man? Not used to speaking with phoenixes? Nay fear, I don't bite much." The phoenix spoke with a bored, dry tone.

Noting the young man looking about as if expecting this hallucination to be explained, the phoenix simply flexed his wings and preened a few feathers.

"So you are interested in one of my mistress' many alchemical work shops. Openings are available for any day at any time."

A clip board floated to the young man. "Fill out your interests in alchemy, why you want to take the workshop and what you hope to gain or learn. Do be sure to read the disclaimer and waiver that excludes my mistress from being responsible for the loss of your life should alchemical disaster happen." The phoenix then leaned it's head in close to the young man. "I can smell another desire in you." The phoenix clucked and watched him.

His eyebrows pushed together as he listened to the phoenix speak. He briefly shut his eyes and rubbed his temples as a migrane started to set in. "No, phoenixs aren't usually talked about when referring to the real world...at least not where I'm from."

He tried to discreetly rub his eyes as the phoenix flexed and preened. Nope, this was real life. He looked at the floating clipboard rather ordinarily as he grabbed it from the air and inspected the papers on it. He reached into his back pocket and retrieved a pen. The young vampire them started to fill out the paper and would sign the waiver, not bothering to read the disclaimer.

He looked up and raised an eyebrow at the phoenix upon hearing the comment. "Hmm?"

The phoenix just chuckled dryly. "Everyone one has hidden desire when they come to this shop. It is one of the chief reasons they come to my mistress. Some truly want wealth. Others want fame or the unnatural luck to take the world by storm. Some simply want extended life or a shortened life. In the end, they all want something more than just the items purchased. I am well familiar with your kind, young man; a peculiar thirst you must have."

By this time Ammy had left the alchemy laboratory, simply walking through solid glass wall. A tray of potions and elixirs in her hands. She wont over to the customers reading and looking through her books.

"Okay, we have one Mountain Panacea for Mr. Termer. Ox Strength for Mr. Mordone. Essence of Charm for Ms. Weelim and the Bountiful Bundle of Joy for Mrs. Sernay. Have I missed anyone?" Ammy would ask.

The customers all seemed happy and satisfied. She lead them to the counter and after few minutes they had all paid and left her shop. She rubbed her neck and gave a smile knowing she had more happy customers. Her mind upon the transactions now free she noticed Infinus was entertaining a young man signing paperwork.

"What is going on, Infinus?"

The phoenix looked to Ammy ruffled some feathers. "You finally have a new student for your workshops."

"Ah. Well then, welcome to the Alchemist's Fire. I do hope my familiar hasn't been too dry or nosy. He often forgets social manners with the living." Ammy would say to the young man.

"Hmph" His eyes narrowed at the phoenix and an eyebrow was raised before he finally broke eye contact and surveyed the store once again. This time watching the woman who had somehow exited the glassed-in room. He reoriented his head back towards the counter after a few seconds, but may have very slightly swiveled it so an ear faced the source noise in the room. A small sigh was let out as he closed his eyes and rubbed his temples again.

He had become so absorbed in the pain of the migraine that he forgot about the approaching woman and where he was, however, when she spoke to him he would manage to pull himself out of the pain induced trance.

"Hm?" he said faintly before he raised his head to look at the woman. "Oh. No. No, it's fine. I'm usually the same way."

Before him was indeed a woman, but she was covered in light charcoal gray fur, wore a blue blouse and black leather apron. Her head was that of a large canine though softened in the muzzle area allowing good speech. Her ears were tri-tipped and caught all sounds around her. Her eyes were golden and shined a bit. Crimson hair with a slight glow was tightly braided and coiled at the back of her head. A tail wagged slowly behind her.

"Hmmm. You look like you are not feeling so well. A head ache perhaps? I have aspirin and many other things you can take for it. Let's get you a drink." Ammy said.

She'd wave him to follow her to the counter where she got him a glass of iced tea. "So, what has drawn you the art of alchemy?"

He uttered thanks as he followed the woman to the counter, slowly resting his arms on it, all the while rubbing his temples. Not feeling well was an understatement.

"Yes...and thank you I appreciate the offer" He looked down at the glass of iced tea "But that won't really help." he said sighing. "I wish to practice alchemy to help with these chronic migraines and for some professional reasons..." his tone at the end of the statement didn't necessarily invite questions to the matter.

"Personal reasons are as good as any for studying Alchemy. Pain is often a cruel but efficient teacher in studying the arts." Ammy said.

She set the iced tea down and walked over the library section of her shop. Her fingers danced over various Alchemy tomes.

"How is your knowledge on the arcane, chemistry or the movement and energy of the planets around Rhy'Din? Also, I will have to ask if you possibly have any clues to what is causing the Migraines. Many triggers exist. Knowing them is the first step in the battle. Anything after that will be much easier to employ."

Tyler gave a small nod. "I suppose that's true...though you only really notice how much the pain helps in hindsight."

His eyes followed Ammy as she walked across the store, the pupils in his hazel eyes surrounded by vibrant splashes of yellow. A pale hand slipped from his temple to his chin. "I know a lot about chemistry and I would like to consider myself an energy-worker, but my knowledge on this realm is severely limited."

A small groan escaped his lips as he was questioned about the migraine's origins and the hazel eyes darted around nervously before once again finding their mark on Ammy. Tyler managed a small smile "I have a not so small photosensitivity issue."

Ammy listened to what Tyler said and withdrew three books. She moved to counter and waved him over. Crouching down she opened the glass doors behind the counter and soon placed a pair of glasses on top of the books. She pushed them to him.

"The glasses will darken with light helping to give you relief. The books are for you to read and use as we work together in Alchemy. I suggest reading them when you feel better." She turned and opened a few drawers on an old medicine chest and added two dark vials to the stack.

"Two drops under your tongue as needed for the pain. Non-addicting and works for most people and races. I look forward to working with you Tyler on giving you understanding of alchemy. If there isn't any further questions, the work shop will start tomorrow. Anything else I can help you with?"

Tyler moved to the counter and looked over the books, glasses, and vials. His pale brow furrowed and he let a sigh slip from his lips as he saw the last two items, he knew that there was only one thing to ease the pain of the sun. The pale man played along, nodding as she spoke about the glasses and vials.

Tyler leaned over to look at the books, picking them up one by one to take in their covers and skim through the first few pages of content. He slowly shook his head. "I think I'm good for now miss...Spiritor? Correct?" The pale man's head turned as he asked a question he already knew the answer to.
