Ring of Musi

Effects:
Masks the presence and essence of the wearer from those sensitive to sensing life by cloaking the wearers soul and energy signature. The wearer can still be physically seen and the ring will not turn the wearer invisible or mask heat signature or sounds. A noted effect of the Ring of Musi is the wearer will never become drunk when worn.

Description:
A simple looking band of silver about one and a half inches in diameter and a half inch in width. The ring is thin in thickness. There is a groove running the full circumference of the ring and indented with a lost and dead language believed to be the Numby Orders script. The silver letters are back dropped by an blackish looking crimson rumored to be anything from crushed garnets to dried human blood.

History:
The Ring of Musi was once worn by Brother Leme Musi of the Numby Order of Monks in a realm long forgotten. The Numby monks were well known for their clarity of mind and almost oracle or far seeing abilities. However these mythical abilities demanded strict discipline of the body and mind. Brother Musi was formerly a well known drunk before he was sentenced to the Numby Order to become sober or face imprisonment for drunken conduct and crimes committed under the influence of strong drink. The abstinence of drinking the Numby Order believed and followed did not sit well with Brother Musi. He visited a mage in a nearby village when out to spread their knowledge for charity to keep the order funded. The mage was asked to craft him a ring to cloud the mythical powers of the Numby Order to allow him to slip out and drink his fill. The ring was crafted for the price of one of the Numby Orders most sacred teaching tomes. The ring was given to Brother Musi and the monk went about his drunken life. That life was soon ended though as the Numby Order was destroyed by the very mage that crafted the ring. Brother Musi was rumored to have been slain by the mage himself while in a drunken stupor. The soul of Brother Musi and his blood flowed over the ring and vanished. Rumors say the ring drunk his blood and merry soul. Others say the ring is cursed and will drink the blood and souls of anyone wearing it.

Requirements of Artifact:
The ring requires alcohol to drink, an effect apparent by the soul of Brother Musi still living in it. The ring must be dropped into a glass/mug/goblet/cup of alcohol to allow the ring to drink the liquid. The alcohol will vanish feeding the ring. This must be done every two days or the ring will cease to work until it has drunk again.

Ring of Envy:
*Also Known As: Covetous Band or Desirous Consumption*

The bearer of the ring will find all of their desires, needs, wants and slightest whims catered too and made manifest in some way, shape or form. Many who have worn these rings have felt pure delight in having everything they ever wanted met and satiated, but herein lies the cost of the Ring of Envy. Whatever the ring has done or wrought to make your desires reality, is done with your soul, body and mind as payment to the Fates for making you happy. All regrets from the actions, events or course of history transpired to gain your desires cannot be undone. All thoughts, ill gotten treatment and loss are permanent. Thus is the true cost of the Ring of Envy.

Rumors say that if a wielder is killed by a cut purse, or the ring is stolen from owner, that the new owner now accepts the debts unknowingly and perpetuates this cycle until the Ring of Envy has brought a wearer to a full cycle of fulfillment then demise. Though no one is for sure what the true definition of 'demise' is for the rings as each case alters and changes with the desires and the owners they come into possession with.

Description:
A Ring of Envy appears as a silverish blue metal band with ribbing that shows promise of becoming much more beautiful. In many cases many merchants and jewelers have added to many Rings of Envy altering their original look and scattering them unknowing among so many treasuries and shops. Upon this silverish blue metal band sit a tri-point dais of gold set with three glowing topaz's buffets and polished into smooth pearl orbs. The gold dais is just a scant focal point for the large, green emerald set into the center of the ring for all to gaze upon as it glitters in the light, beckoning, calling to all.

History:
Queen Latricia Peregrine Courtright was the earliest patron known to posses a Ring of Envy in the notable works of B.B. Wrestfields -Enchanted Jewelry & What Not To Wear-. Circa 1406 SAE (Sovereign Axis Endures), Earth Realm 568, Queen L.P. Courtright came into owning a Ring of Envy after attending a court viewing of an infamous auction of the Northern Lights Trading Company. The trading company had reported coming into immense wealth and fortune on an expedition to the Northern Pole and had found a dormant volcano rife with treasures amassed for centuries. With none around to lay legal claim, all treasure was removed and auctioned off for profit. The ring Queen L.P. Courtright won was 1 of what is estimated to be 30 other similar rings in the collection that the Northern Lights Trading Company had catalogued.

Upon her winning, the Courtright's suffered immensely during their rule. Though the kingdom excelled in land acquisition, royal wealth and military might, it did little to cover the growing darkness in the kingdom. First it was the youngest of the Courtright's, found dead in a pond, an accident of a child at play and left attended. The middle child broke it's neck during a ride on horseback when a snake spooked said beast a month later. The eldest was taken ill during a simple skirmish war that was won. Upon arrival, he fell deathly ill, then into a coma, and finally passed on a year later.

The rest of the kingdom began to grow ill as well as the eldest was laid to rest. Many fled the kingdom, calling it cursed, others died in their sleep. Business that had done so well from the prosperity had met countless misfortunes and fires, and finally King Courtright passed away, consumed by the illness and driven mad by grief. He was found, his head dashed upon the cobblestones bellow in the courtyard. The queen, on her death bed, decreed all things be sold, taken away and removed, fearing curses on everything in fevered delirium. Her actions were too late. As the last of the treasury was removed, the Ring of Envy among it, she too, it is recorded, slipped into eternal sleep. The Courtright Kingdom to this day is abandoned, considered cursed and unclean.
