I've taken the liberty to copy the data from the two OCC posts in the Bristle Crios folder to put here as well as open this thread up for communications between all participating players so we can sort out posting order. This thread will also help facilitate any lacking info players need on it.

Oops SL

Hi guys. I started up an open sl for staff and students of the academy. The Alchemy class had an oops moment and Ammy is doing her best to keep her students and the rest of the academy safe from a Daemon Kraken! Feel free to join into the SL.

Some info on the Daemon Kraken:
It is a demon variant of a real Kraken,
The main body which is 200 feet long is wedged inside of the main Alchemy Lecture room,
It has at least 30 tentacles up to 400 feet long,
Tentacles are scaled and secret an acid slime (expect decent acid damage to objects not bespelled to resist damage and first to second degree burns on exposed flesh.
So far, as noted, the creature is fire resistant though wind seems to have some measure of affect at cutting the tentacles.

Some details on the location:
Fourth Floor of the Mage Wing of the Academy. The besieged lecture room is on the inside of the hall, no windows in the room. This puts the room on the left side of the hall. It is situated in the middle of the Mage Wing.

The hall they are in has windows on the right side of hall facing out on school grounds. There are drapes on the window with every other window covered by a closed drape, the rest are uncovered, the windows are closed shut for warmth.

The students are up against a presumed fire door that has rolled down when things went south locking off the central section of that floor from the library and the admin building.

Floor is carpet with tiling I am guessing and I have added a map as well now, a rough map that is of what I think is the layout. Class rooms are in the central aisle of the hall with walk ways on either side with windows. This would mean one side of the hall is not protected by Ammy.

To answer a question from Kruger mun and to inform anyone else interested in the SL. I am more than happy to have staff or students post in the same SL thread I started. Though I could see too that if other staff would like to treat Oops as a general day of magical or mundane mishaps around the academy that day, then separate SL's can work too. I hope the map I attached to my previous OCC post helps with the Kraken issue.

*If you all want to separate SL's it'd bee neat to see which ones are related to the Oops day. I would say add Oops to the SL Title for easier spotting.

Hi Andu. There are exposed coils of tentacles on the outside of Mage Hall. None that are really sticking out to harass anyone outside of Mage Hall. Granted I am sure if the beast got poked a few times on the outside it'll more than likely react, just like it reacted to Ammy walking on the floor. Hope that helps clarify things.

Looking at the map I would say their are six visible tentacles flowing out of the left side windows and entering the right side. Ammy has blown off some of the interior pieces but the rest of the tentacles remain intact.

Due to a growing list of participants, Blood Sister has brought to my attention a need for me to wait on posting for Ammy until all are given fair chance to post. I agree with this statement. I will go ahead and post today with Ammy seeing the majority of people I was aware of have posted. I will make attempts to post with Ammy when I feel a good point has been reached to move the story on to the next segment. If people miss a chance, let me know in PM or here at OCC thread and we'll get you in next round. The roster has grown in debuts, list in Order of Appearance: (Sounds like the rolling credits of a B Science Movie)

To help people catch up and make it easier to jump in, here?s some useful info. Forgive my rudimentary summations. Please correct me and make your own updates as we go along. Please be aware, this is all OOC information.


(posting info as of the end of the day on January 27th)

All floors of Mage Hall are being evacuated. A fire alarm type tone is going off in the entire building of Mage Hall to indicate this.

Classes have been cancelled effective immediately for the entire school. Students and staff may reinforce themselves within the school, except for Mage Hall, or leave. They are being informed of this news by security going classroom to classroom, administrative staff paging classrooms through overhead speaker systems or phones in individuals rooms, etc. Lydia?s secretary is leading up this communications project inside of the Academy, but communication from anyone in any way is encouraged.

People within view of the exterior of Mage Hall will be able to see giant tentacles ?flowing out of the left side of the hall, arching down and crashing through the windows of the 3rd floor to thread over and up to the right side windows of the 4th floor?.

Those with, or near security officers with, one of the campus communication devices will hear the following information about the creature in question: ?Daemon Kraken, Please investigate weaknesses. Possible resistance to fire, confirmed cold susceptible? Burning flesh. Do not touch.? Please check out other characters? contributions to the communications process, which most people have been indicating dialog in colored font for easy viewing.

Ammy?s students have been evacuated via one of the southern doors of the central part of Mage Hall. H.K.; Andu, suited up as Grape Ape Andu; Arthour; and several security guards are currently stationed there with Ammy, who are leading the charge on the front line attacks. Mai has been providing support for Ammy, as well as providing comforting energies to the students still evacuating the rest of Mage Hall.

The children in the daycare have been relocated to the Combat Annex to the north of the campus. Kruger has been distracting them from the danger they can see from outside the windows by playing Captain Krugie versus the ?foul beast from the depths of Davey Jones Locker?. Using her abilities, ?Pirate Princess? Angel, one of the children of the daycare, brought her mother and leader of Bristle Crios, Miranda Branson, to the Annex. Miranda made her way to Mage Hall to help.

Each of the seven houses of Bristle Crios is on alert and becoming aware of the crisis. Prior to Miranda being brought to the Annex with the children of the daycare, Lydia?s secretary notified Miranda, who then alerted the houses. Alchemy House is now aiding in monitoring and communications with C.A.M, with Jack Absinthe taking the lead. Mage House was beginning to take shape to act as a safe house for students evacuating the campus. Lydia?s secretary will be continuing to pass this information along to those inside the school via her communications networks as well.

FYI. There are more krakens on the way. ?Anyone near pipes in Mage Hall may hear sluggish clattering or glugging sounds within the pipes. During the task of infiltrating the pipes, each nodule on the tendrils erupted spewing out smaller replicas of the Daemon Kraken, bodies two feet in diameter and gaining the mobility to run about on ten sturdy tentacles. Florescent violet eyes glimmered in the gloom and darkness as the lavoratories filled with miniature Kraken. Several began to spit acid upon the doors and once the holes widened enough, they flowed out to explore the 3rd Floor of Mage Hall, acid spit their primary reaction to any obstacle.?

Thank you Lydia and Andu for assisting in the collection and displaying of vital data for all playing or planning to play in this SL.

I am adding one thing that may have been overlooked in the last post Ammy made about the Kraken. The original beast's tentacles are drying out, meaning they wont be burning to the touch for much longer. Any areas that have lost the slime have their scales exploding out with a cloud of miniature 'scale' like seed inside and outside of Mage Hall. Some of these seeds have taken hold in Mage garden.

The creatures sprouted from those seeds are the same that are on the third floor and are actively seeking out warmth. So be aware that small kraken like creatures are now loose on the grounds of the Academy and will attack anyone for warmth and will try to enter buildings using acid spit if need be. 2 Feet in diameter and they move about on 10 tentacle like legs. Acid slime coats them but they seem to be without scales.

Feel free to npc some of the spawn that are out and about on the grounds and the third floor. Please note though that the translucent eggs pumped within the pipes do not have a disclosed form or appearance yet.

Hi everyone. Me once more, your loveable kraken maestro. I am sending out pokes to people to get some posting going on since its almost two weeks again last Ammy post.

So far Mechanist Heart has opened hailing frequencies to the staff of the school particularly Hunter and Miranda.

Ammy is up to something big it seems but no one is sure what exactly it is she is doing.

We have lots of critters loose on all three of the lower floors of Mage Wing, in the Mage Garden and loose on the school campus grounds with a group heading for the Combat Annex.

We happen to have two heroes that have gone MIA in the action. Arthour and Grape Ape Andu. So come on guys, now's the time to pop up like spring daisies and say boo!

Hi guys. I am wondering about something here. This is just an idea. Should I throw in an NPC SN to act in the place of the Kraken and it's mini-me's to separate out Ammy's posts from it? My thoughts are that we could use the NPC SN to mark the next moving point in the SL and free up Ammy to make additional posts if need be since the Kraken and the Mini Kraken are the stars of the show.

Hi all. Your fuzzy game master here. So, the Kraken is now doing it's own posts. Don't fret, it's still me just using my catch all N.P.C. SN for it. How things work with Kraken posts. The posts will attempt to address all actions posted by players during the current round as well as any missed actions in the prior round. So really keep posting guys! I know it's rough and tough but winter isn't going to last forever for this setting, hehe.

Now then, when targeting with posts, I will try to state what will happen if your characters decide to take no action or if you decide to roll with attack and accept some of it to help give you details to build a post. I will not be doing one shot hits or giving no chances at evading. However, this only applies to player characters. NPC characters are at the mercy of the Kraken unless there are some you wish not to be harmed. Please mention them in this thread if that is the case.

On a side note..... we now have Oops Kraken Icons! I'll hand them out soon.

Okay everyone. Gather around and listen up to the coach. You may have noticed Ammy's last post about searching for why this all happened and then a new thread appeared, Oops - Through the Looking glass. I want you all to take Ammy's last post as an example to branch off of the Oops Thread and make new Oops threads showing how your characters are either investigating or helping to rebuild the academy.

Many posts have been made to show that much is going on behind the scenes of this disaster. Also, given the feel and content of many of the recent posts, the day (time in the SL) is now over, meaning the Kraken event happened, it was beaten and now we have aftermath and rebuilding. This said, it's time to close the Oops Thread soon and let the branched, new Oops threads flourish.

So, I'd like all of you to do one last post if you wish to show what your character is going to do from this point on and if you are brave, start a new Oops thread continuing from your last post. Just look at Ammy's last post and you'll see how she summarized her actions for that day and then linked to a new thread showing what she's started doing after that dreaded day.

Happy hunting or rebuilding folks. After Friday I will be most likely out of communications some for posting for possibly two weeks as things are loaded and we drive to Oklahoma. I'll let you all know when I am finally settled and able to participate in things again.
