The wind was cold and whirling dead leaves down sparsely populated streets. Black loafers, recently polished, crunched along the cobblestone until they paused in front of a great door being hoisted open by a bouncer in plain dress. Music immediately flooded into the surrounding boulevarde and a few stray spheres of watery magic, tiny dancing bubbles drifted out before the door slammed in the man?s wake.

Inside the walls were painted with electric purple and faded pink light. A machine sent thousands upon thousands of sweet bubbles floating through the room. Upon the stage were three sets of darkened columns with blacklight poles and spots inside. In the middle column was a girl with ethereal cerulean eyes that glowed brighter than any of the effects in the room. A bandeau top, hip hugging boyshorts, and knee high boots were lit up on all three girls to create a neon center of attention. Their skin was covered in body paint that made their movements pulse with a warm magenta glow.

Sailin? away on the crest of a wave, it?s like magic.
Rollin? and ridin? and slippin? and slidin?, it?s magic.
And you, and your sweet desire,
You took me, higher and higher

Each table was covered in refreshments from all walks of life, but during this show all you could see was the special colors eminating from each. The vibrancy of the colors were also reflected on the faces of the patrons within the club. There had been such tension in the air and although it wasn?t like the Derby Dame to spend so much time on atmosphere and emotion she had the strangest feeling that the world needed a little bit of a reprieve. So, the dancing girls of Romax Pol?s great Asylum would be here to offer it to them.

It's a livin' thing,
It's a terrible thing to lose
It's a given thing
What a terrible thing to lose.

The song continued with Sami?s hands running up and down the pole to support her weight. She had spoken to each of the girls before the number. Despite the fact that they were spinning with heels wedged and thighs spread this song wasn?t supposed to be erotic.

?I want it to look fun. Energetic! I want us to look like school girls on sugar trying to get our kicks on the playground before we?re trapped in another two hours of pointless math and science lectures.?

Making believe this is what you've conceived
From your worst day,
Moving in line when you look back in time
To your first day

Waitresses bustled through the crowd with trays holding test-tube shooters of flavored schnapps. Around their necks were glowrings of green, purple, and blue. Light up wands and swords were at every single table. It was like a night at the circus for adults who wanted to be carefree and childish again. Someone was offering face and body painting of the glow-in-the-dark variety near the bar. A table of girls giggled and looked around with eyes alight as the chorus ran through once more.

The girl spinning merrily around the center pole was grinning from ear to ear.

Takin' a dive 'cos you can't halt the slide
Floating downstream,
So let her go don't start spoiling the show
It's a bad dream.

After the last verse clouds of euphoric mist rained down upon the crowd and strobing lights caught the streams of vapors in the air. The sweet scent of incense filled the air and pupils dilated while endorphins were released. Roaring laughter increased, hearts beat faster, and the girl on the center pole was quite certain that, finally, everyone would have a very pleasant evening.

And you, and your sweet desire,
You took me, higher and higher
It's a livin' thing,
It's a terrible thing to lose
It's a given thing
What a terrible thing to lose.

After a few seconds of posing the Derby Dame wrapped skeletor fingers around the microphone. With chest heaving and lips upturned she shouted to the crowd.

?Now?s the hour ladies and gents! Find your passion. It?s time to drink and dance the night away. We?ll be back with more entertainment for your viewing pleasure!?

Feeling altogether better about their drug induced frenzy the blue-eyed girl wandered off the stage with contentment written all over her glowing pink body.
