Chryrie dropped a number of notebooks and moredhel writings onto the table she was sharing with her sister on the bottom level of the library.
"Ok, here's all the notes I could find from our lessons as children. I also have some of Traeline's beginner lessons in here. What has Tass taught you so far?"
Kitty stared at the books, carefully taking up the old moredhel tome in a clawed hand as the memories flashed about inside her head. "Uh... I can turn a barstool into a recliner..."
Chryrie paused and stared at her sister. Judging from the look on the fae's face, Kitty surmised it wasn't part of the normal status quo for magical lessons.
"Well, considering the odd nature of your newly gained ability, and the questionable sanity of both you and him, I shouldn't be surprised."
Chryrie's tone sounded wry, but she then shrugged it off and then gestured to the books. "Anyway, here they are. I'd say let me know if you have questions, but we both know you'd sooner choke on a hairball."
Kitty just grinned after her sister as she left. Chryrie knew her so well. She looked down at the moredhel writing and gnawed on a claw. The memories were all too clear of how the tribal shamans were so intent on making her their pet weapon when her mental abilities had formed, but were still too wild to control. How many times did they have her do some of these simple spells, only for her to wake up hours later to find the building around her demolished?
Her serpent yellow eyes shut as she turned her face from the book. A clawed hand slammed the tome shut and flung it back onto the table. Now was not the time to stir up those memories.
Instead she picked up one of Traeline's starter lesson booklets. Her voice low as she read aloud...
"First get a taper candle and light it. Make sure you have an adult present for this exercise..."
An adult present?! Oh yeah, this was going to be fun.
"Hey Tass sweetie? Wanna be my adult supervision?" She snickered out over her shoulder.
