"Hmm.."

Lydia's brows furrowed as she walked, studying the map in her hands carefully. She had marked the spot off Tass pointed to previously when he was showing her where the library was, but reading and understanding a map was a new thing for her.

"Excuse me?" She flashed a polite smile to a passerby, flagging them down and waving them over. "Do you think you can help me out? I think I'm lost." She gestured to the map.

The man nodded to her as he approached. "Of course, what seems to be the tro-" He paused as he looked the map over. "Well.." He reached over, turing the map around as he laughed. "Maps are best used when they're not upside down."

"Oh!" Lydia's faced reddened a bit as she looked at the map again...it seemed to make more sense now...

"Not a problem.. this is where you're wanting to go right?" He reached out and pointed at the marked spot. "That's really close to where we are..." His finger moved just a fraction across the map. "Just keep heading down this street, make a right over there-" His hand moved from the map to point way down the street to a road branching off at the end. "-it's the big place at the end of that road...you can't miss it!"

Her smiled widened as she nodded excitedly. "Okay! Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it!"

Folding the map up and tucking it away as she took off down the street, her boots were loud against the cobblestoned pavement. The appropriate right turn was made as she kept running, darting to and fro, left and right to avoid running into any people also walking along the streets. At the end, she skidded to a halt in front of a particularly large, majestic looking building. Majestic in her eyes at least...

Her mouth formed a curious o as she looked it over. This was it right? Well, there was only one way to know for sure! A deep breath was taken before slow steps took her closer to the building, until she paused at the entrance. She wasn't so sure knocking on the door would help in this case either... so she poked her head inside, a curious glance about taken.

"Hello? Anyone here?"

He was sitting in his office on the third floor when he felt her approach the building. She was still a bit apprehensive about what he later remembered as reading her mind and not hearing her words.

He would have to appologize for that.

Then there too was his fowardness. Not that he minded that part of it, since he was foward and blunt (most of the time) when it came to his flirting, but he would have to make sure that she had not taken offense with that too.

Yes, there was much to account for when he got into that bottle with Sid, or perhaps it was just being with Sid... he'd have to think on that one.

"Hello? Anyone here?" Her voice sounded almost timid... unsure. Well, he'd have to cure that of her... especially if she was to be hanging around this old dragon. Maybe a few more kisses...

He stood from the desk and moved to the door, and began his decent to the second floor, then once there, made his way to the stairs that led to the first.

"Coming..." It wouldn't do for her to think that no one was around. But often times there wasn't. He was going to have to look into hiring someone to keep hours here at the place when he did go out. Perhaps he would talk with Rena again.

His thoughs filtered through his mind, and as they were, he had forgotten he had placed the stack of books that would help Lydia on one of the steps. As such, he foot caught them about midstack and he went flying.

"Gah!.." The old man tucked as he went down, pulling his head to his chest and working to make himself as tight as possible. That didn't, however, stop the collapse of books that pummeled him as he rolled down the steps and into the various different stacks and shelves.

Dust flew everywhere as he finally came to a groaning halt at the bottom of the stairs. There was a moment he actually shook his head, clearing it of the spinning that it was still doing as he pulled himself to first his hands and knees, then slowly, to his feet with his staff that came to just appear in his hand.

"Ahh.. afternoon Ms Loran." He proceeded to dust himself off while he addressed, and then smiled, making his way to her at the door.

She remained by the door, not wanting to trespass somewhere she wasn't invited into. Being patient she didn't have a problem waiting, and took the moment to glance around the place. In the area she was at alone.. quite a few books. There was no telling how many more there would be the further you went into the library!

"Coming..."

She smiled brightly at hearing Tass and took the opportunity to step inside. She didn't go too far though, and chose to remain by the door until he arrived. A hand was combed through that green hair of hers and she worked to smooth out that long skirt of hers, an effort to look presentable. She was by no means fancy but that didn't mean she didn't care about her appearance!

"Gah!.."

Eyes widened as she gasped, pale eyes snapping towards the source - the bottom of a set of stairs. It wasn't long before books, dust, and Tass all came tumbling down. She couldn't help but wince at the sight, it looked awfully painful! Just as she was about to head that way he actually started to get up on his own, shaking his head, brushing himself off as if nothing had happened.

"Ahh.. afternoon Ms Loran."

She smiled as he approached, happy to see that he was faring well after that nasty fall.. and yeah, that's right, he can read her mind can't he? Normally it wouldn't be a problem, it's not as if she had trouble with her thoughts under most circumstances, but it's funny how they work when your concsious of them, and are aware others can see them. The stranges thoughts seem to flash by, thoughts no one else should know! Mundane things too... the color of unmentionables, embarassing moments like walking into a hot spring area of the opposite sex, even the number of times-

"Good afternoon Tass!" A merry exclaimation from the blushing girl. "I hope I haven't come at a bad time?"

He smiled to her, and gave her a little wink.

"Not at all hun. I just had forgotten that I had put those there... "

With that, he lifted his hand, and gave a little wave. The books that had perviously decided to collapse on him suddenly got up and walked themselves back to where they were before they decided to trip him and bury him.

"So, how are you doing hun? Ready to start reading?"

There, of course, was that warm smile and the sly twinkle in his eyes.

"Oh my."

She canted her head, peering past Tass towards the books walking themselves. Certainly not something you see everyday! When they reached their destination and resumed their.. lack of animation, pale eyes drifted towards Tass.

"I'm doing well Tass, thank you." Grinning widely then. "And I'm certainly ready to try!"

She smiled to him once again, her gaze wandering a bit to look around.

"You sure got a lot of books here..."

His smile widened as he watched her and her wonder with the books. It was always a joy to see that look on others faces. It struck a cord with him.. perhaps it was the dragon's thirst of knowledge that caused it...

"You sure got a lot of books here..."

"Yea.. I've had a few.. eons to collect them." He chuckled. "Why don't you look around and see if you find one that might interest you. It's always best to work with something that you like, or even love, than something that is tedious and mundane and holds no interest for you."

Eons? Wow... he must be pretty... urm, he's aged quite well, yes! She adjusted her thoughts quickly before pale eyes turned to the nearby shelves. Slow steps took her closer to one as she let her fingers trace the numerous volumes of books. Find something she liked? Hmm, she could'd read anything at all currently, save for some numbers. Those were pretty easy to learn. As her hand moved across the books she'd occassionally pull one out and look over the cover, maybe even flip through the book a bit before returning it.

Since she couldn't read, she was going by things like pictures, length, size of text...things like that. The process of searching continued on until..

"Hm..?"

She looked over the leather book in her hands, it wasn't all that big, but hardly a thin book either. Flipping through it revealed so many beautiful, detailed pictures of all varieties. Dragons, knights, fair princesses and elves, faeries, and even various animals, some of which she had never seen before! Perhaps it was a book of..stories? Fairy tales even? She couldn't be certain.

Book in hand, she turned to approach Tass, a curious expression on her face as she smiled. "What about this book then? It looks interesting."
