It was hard for him to stay stowed away within his own mind. Each minute that passed was another that the Bloodspeaker wreaked havoc upon the city of RhyDin. He watched at masses of innocents were slaughtered? as buildings were set ablaze. He had almost torn his own bindings within his mind when the creature that was within his body had set Jake''s place ablaze.

It had taken an unbelievable amount of control to keep silent. Time is what was needed? but he was beginning to wonder how much time it would take. He knew that things were progressing for the worse on the Isle, and after the first contact was made with him and Kor Jon, he had sealed that line of communication quickly. He did not want the Bloodspeaker to know that he was still alive? still within his own body? holding back the power that she longed to touch. She must heal the body before he could allow that power to be breached. And when that wall came crashing down, one seriously pissed off dragon would blaze its way back into his body.

Patience? why did it always come down to having patience? He would have it, as he must, and continue to watch from the place he had hidden himself within. When Shahai had healed all she could, and then after the young dragon''s power came to life within the Queen''s staff? he would emerge. Time was coming, and soon enough, the Bloodspeaker would find herself in thrall of the dragon.

He had felt the breach in his barrier. It was not a feeling that he relished. He knew he was still weak, and this proved it. He would have to endure the Bloodspeaker''s idea of fun for a little longer. While she healed him from the outside, he healed from within.

He raised his head as Kor Jon spoke. The look that burned in his eyes was one of rage. He looked between the two that stood there before him for what could easily have been an eternity. Then, when he spoke, his voice, cracked with disuse, was lined with the same rage that roared within his eyes.

"You should not have come. I can hid myself, but by you breaching the barrier I had placed around me, I cannot guarantee your safety here within my own mind. But you are here?"

He heaved a heavy sigh, and the fire in his eyes abated a bit. "No, I did not do this. Shahai did." His gaze turned and locked onto Alais. She was within his mind now, and he could feel her thoughts. "Yes, this is the real vision of Jake''s place. The Bloodspeaker now seaks the Baroness of Dragon''s Gate. Weather she seeks to destroy the fairy or not, I do not know. My guess is that she is.

Each being that she destroys, weather it is just killing them, or ripping their souls apart, it heals the body? my body. A fairy''s power would do much in the healing. She is the one who needs the protection right now. Her, and Tele. The Queen as agreed to help heal this body. Alais, she things that it''s still me in this body. She doesn''t know that the Bloodspeaker is controlling it. She *must not* know either, or the magic will be changed. But she must be protected none the less. This body must be healed, and the Queen has a staff of a young dragon which can do it, at least, in part."

By the time that he finished his plea, the air around him was boiling with life. It was apparent that he was growing stronger with each passing moment. Yes, he knew time was what he needed, just as it was blood which the body needed.

He turned his gaze to Kor Jon then. "This, my friend, will be the last visit which will come within my mind. The time will come soon when I am able to rejoin you, but that time has not yet come. You two know what needs to be done. As for myself? I have a small war to deal with in the Blackness of one''s mind. It is a war in which I hope to bring life from."

The power which Tass was growing once again in was apparent then. The world faded to a misty gray? the in-between. His life was still felt, but his mind had closed.

The Citadell was silent. The metallic scent of the place permeated everything, and it was the comforting familiarity that permitted her to relax. She'd come from flying over the bluffs, wreaking havoc amongst livestock, but now she sat in the library searching. Her focus on healing spells was ongoing.

Progress was slow, but growing. If only the Elven Queen would come to bring her touch of life to this body. She'd spent weeks seeking answers to counter the magic that caused this devastation to the dragon's body. She was curled up comfortably in the library, temporarily sated from her need to destroy souls.

She sat bolt upright as an unwanted thought popped into her consciousness. An elf and a warrior in black and grey came into view as clearly as any image or memory, yet she knew she'd never met either one. As abruptly as they had appeared, they were gone. Lost into a faded gray fog and vanished from sight.

She pondered that for long moments before pain drove her to relax her rigid posture. Were they memories of the Dragon? Would there be more memories as this body healed? The possibilities chased themselves around in her thoughts. Could she regain thousands of years of experience and knowledge? The possibilities reeled.

With renewed interest, she began studying once more the works belonging to her master. Daigotsu would be most pleased!
