This is open to pretty much anyone who wants to contribute.

The premise behind this is along the lines of how most people have music for their characters. I, however, don't really do that sort of thing. What I do is scents. Not just for my characters, either, but I have perfumes that make me think of characters I interact with. I'll include the notes for y'all and a general impression of the scent. If anyone really wants, for some of these I can direct you to where they can be purchased or I will try and send you samples out of my stash. Also, as a person who loves scents, I'd love to hear your thoughts on these and if you have any scents you assosciate.

Montgomery Scott
Large Hadron Collider Produces a Strangelet: Ambergris, Pale Green Lettuce, Mint Stalks, Polyvalent Fizz
This is a very sharp industrial, clean scent. Has a slightly effervescent feel to it, like sniffing a carbonated drink. Watery, industrial cleanser, herbal, mint, citrus. It's a bright, happy, green scent that constantly shifts between what the dominant notes are.

Jamie McCrimmon
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn: Terebinth Pine, Patchouli, Brown Musk, Linden Blossom, Honey, Mallow, Blood Orange, Heliotrope, Golden Amber
This is a warm, cuddly, snuzzly scent. Dominant notes are a honeyed sweetness with a just faintly powdery amber. All that over a breath of flowers, with a very strong and earthy base. Colour impression is pale, bright orange. (Note: This one was a limited edition for Christmas 2008, and I will do illegal things to anyone who tries to hinder my ability to get more of this. So you'll have to be someone very special to me to get a sample of this.)

Renne
The Phoenix: Sea Air, Gunpowder, Lime, Salt-Crusted Wood, Blood, Indonesian Oils, Vanilla
Mostly acquatic and wooden. I get a whisper of lime and something exotic. The blood accord is not very prominent (and trust me, I can usually pick out blood accord immediately, it's one of my favourites), and just adds a hint of something metallic. The gunpowder goes dusty. No sweetness. It's the scent of a sailing ship on the high seas. Free, unconstrained by civilisation. Colour is a greyed-blue. Not entirely sure yet why this makes me think of Renne, but who am I to question my subconscious? (Note: This one was a limited edition in 2007, but is fairly easy to obtain. It shows up on e-Bay fairly regularly, or I can aim you at the appropriate forums.)

This will get updated fairly regularly as I figure out other scents.

Contributions do NOT have to be scent-based in nature. It can be textures, sounds (including music), tastes... Whatever floats your boat. The entire idea is, after all, syn?sthesia. While I am aware this doesn't adhere strictly to what syn?sthesia is, that is part of my underlying motivation for this. Consider this to be my little experiment in what sensations we assosciate with certain characters. I personally went with scent because that is my strongest sense.

So I'm inspired by Dude Three here...Except rather than scent, try texture. Cloth, stone, ice, fur. That sort of thing. These are some of the folk Renne knows. I'm going by sheer instinct, gut and sensation here, so pardon any utterly insane ramblings. So, blame Dude Three for said ramblings!

Johnathan Tapole
Velvet. Thick, brocaded velvet with an undertone of metal beneath it.

Harold "Dude" Lee
Fur. Thick, like a bearskin or fur rug on a hardwood floor. Touches of rough, like a whetstone.

"Dude Two" Scotty
Leather with an undertone of steel. Smooth, sharp, sometimes cold and sometimes not.

"Dude Three" Scott
Feathers with a touch of chiffon. Light and airy but not insubstantial.

Pavel "Dude Four" Chekov
Earth, the kind of wet earth found after a hard rain. Touches of steel and stone.

Cinder Shirastan
Ashes over a newly sprouted lawn.
