this is a little more infor on werewolves.

Werewolf guide

The common werewolf stands at a rough 6-8ft in height, overall depending on the base humans standing height. Generally, a human will grow at least 1ft it's normal height in muscle mass and mutated bone structure. Werewolves, unlike most anthropomorphic replicas, are more savage looking in their humanoid forms. Rather than paw-like appendages for hands and feet, the Werewolf will actually erect bone-like claws and talons at the tips of humanoid fingers. Their facial structures resemble that of the tradition wolf, with the exception of more elongated and defined features, erected fangs, thinner skulls, longer ears, and an all around more savage appeal to them. Males, tend to grow a large amount of muscle mass, with a more defined and "built" physique.

Females, will grow more slender and agile frames, lots of curves and definition. Also, the female will have shortened facial features as opposed to the longer structure of the males. This small more meek appeal to them, gives them a more sadistic and slasher-style combatant, where the males will be more inclined to bite and devour with their massive jaws, using their arms and muscles to hold and rip. However, some latent males have had more slender and swifter physiques as some females have grown more hulking and savage, but the basic distinction between the two is the curvature of the body and the existences of breast, penis, and vaginal organs. Most characteristics are contingent upon the overall appearance of the human form.

Reproduction

Werewolves reproduce sexually in multiple selective ways. As humanoid beings, their sexual interactions are not only for survival, but for natural and hormonal occurrences as well. Werewolves have the choice of mating in any other three natural forms, wolf, anthro, or human morph. However, the chosen form of the male will dictate the form of the female at birth. Like a recorded code, the body remembers the genetic structure of the male as it enters the female. At birthing, the code is read and triggers the change in the female, so her body is physically fit to bear the children. The chosen form of conception, is also the form the infants hold upon being born. A where wolf will produce 1-2 pups at birth, assuming all survive.

Werewolf birthing is very painful to the body, and will render the female immobile for the duration of the nursing period. Gestation period for werewolves is 2-3 months, in which the she-wolf will then seclude herself to the den with guards at its exterior. Conception is not instantaneous, and in fact werewolves have a harder time actually conceiving children than their wolf counterparts. Many believe that chances increase depending on the form chosen, but this has yet to be a proven fact. In any event it may take multiple attempts for success. Reproductive organs are externally visible, in anthro form it would resemble a much larger rendition of the animal appendage. Nipples, on the female, are moderately invisible on the female anthro form, recessing back and concealed by the females fur. During arousal and pup feeding, the nipples will protrude from the fur and become visible.
Bone Structure

The encasing of a werewolves internal organs, the skeletal structure, changes in density as the lycan alters forms. From human to anthro, the bone composition strengthens, thickening to an armor-like state of near invulnerability. Combined with rapid cell reproduction, the aging process of all lycanthrope as ceased. Bones are infinitely strong, and cells are incapable of dying out. When the werewolf reaches sexual maturity, (after the first year of birth) it will cease growth and development and resume it immortal lifespan. The implementation of silver ions, has been known to disrupt this invulnerable state temporarily, causing a severe allergic reaction and in many cases a lethal spread of dermatitis. In short, silver contact can prove to be the only fatal means. However, it is also show that werewolves possess the strength to penetrate the armor structure and hide, as well as high powered artillery and even high end explosives. Normal artillery fire is useless

The Disease

The curse of the lycan, is actually a contagious disease, however the lethality of the disease, or the lycan in which carrying it, balances out the chances of an outbreak. While bites, scrapes, scars, and minor assaults have shown little to know signs of infection, catastrophic mauls and maims, as well as pure garroting of victims have found the spread of the infection. Although, not many ever survive such an attack as the human body cannot handle that much trauma. Those who do survive, will start showing sings of infection almost immediately. minor allergic reactions to silver, heightened senses, increases strength and speed. Cravings for meat, more rare than desirable, and the frequent wolf hallucination. Incubation for the infection is 1 full cycle, and upon the arrival of the next full moon the first mutation takes hold. for 3 days the human infected with trigger the change at the first sign of the full moon. The first change is near fatal, and kills 82% of all infected, depending on the emotional state of the human mindset. After the change, the werewolf will not be able to control their actions and will consequently seek to feed, hunting in nearby woodlands, farms, or even...cities. Those who survive the change, do not forget what they have done, and are able to rember the event through dark dreams. Over time, under the right influence, an infected can learn to control their change and assimilated to the pure-blood werewolf society. These chosen few, are called Fallen.

Behavior

Social Structure

Like wolves, Werewolves has segregated themselves into packs, marking their territorial boundaries amongst the human prey in large cities. Werewolves are drawn more so to dark damp areas like caverns, sewers, graveyards, and abandoned buildings. It is here that they group to gather with at least 5 others of their kind and start the first stages of a pack. They seek large cities with huge amounts of land and many places to conceal themselves during the hunt. Most werewolves will use their intellect and revert to human form, living amongst the mortal to better know the prey and plan hunting parties. Pack disputes and territorial issues are common, as with their wolf origins, but conversation and understanding through human methods is also possible.

Like humans, werewolves find joy in many worldly things, movies, food, computers, books, sex, music, but tend to apply their own twist on each of these. Keeping to traditional methods, many older lycans believe that weapon combat is immoral and shows no pride, thus resulting in many combat situations involving fists, jaws, and/or claws with all forms intimately used. Many werewolves see humans only as toys and food while remaining loyal to their kind. However some human aspects of werewolves long for human companionship and thus many rogue werewolves have been known to dabble in human affairs, to keep in touch with their once human decedents. Werewolves are primarily nocturnal, loving the night and although not harmfully affected by the day, prefer to avoid it unless necessary

Mates & Mating

Werewolves have many pros and cons on the relationship end. Being part human, the hormonal desire for sexual relations is percent when given. In the younger stages of a wolf, they will feel attraction for multiple females, purely for forms of entertainment. AS far as breeding - with the intentions of producing pups, a werewolf is more prone to follow their animal mating rituals and settle with a life mate. Life Mates are determined by a process called imprinting in which a werewolf will meet another and experience a high amount of euphoric reactions each time they are near to the other. This natural occurrence will force the werewolf to submission of the imprinted and until the death of the imprinted they are one. This has many flaws, as many werewolves refuse to believe in the concept of lifemates and never assimilate to that idea, there reaction to this euphoria is disregarded and misunderstood. Some wolves do settle down with one mate.

Wolves without lifemates are said to have extremely hard times conceiving and should they unknowingly imprint will even find it hard to be sexually aroused by any other. The lifemate link severs upon the death of one of the mates. Generally the imprinting is mutual and happens to both parties, but in rare occasions it does not and one is forced to wait for the occurrence or nudge them into understanding. Mating is a savage experience as most werewolves are animalistic by behavior, so is the engagement, but it is purely based on personality of the human origin.

Territory

Werewolves are highly territorial and will not take liking to trespassers and those with intentions of robbing them of their 'property'. In this instance, females are generally tossed around and "claimed" into packs rather than invited. Females are prized possession of packs they produce the pups and nurse the weak. With this in mind, any outsider messing with a claimed female is asking for death. However, due to human origins, some morals leak into the mindset of these beings and some harbor a higher respect for females and treat them civilly, like before it depends on the origin mindset of the base human.
Senses

In addition to senses higher than normal humans and wolves, werewolves have an acute sense of the dead. They are keenly aware of aura's and spirits unable to be seen by untrained eyes. Many elder werewolves, use these senses to commune with ancient spirits and shamans, calling forth healing powers and performing offerings to ancient gods. Theses heightened senses, also allow them to detect the presence of other lycans, even before scent. Some higher sensitive werewolves can detect the origin and bloodline of more known werewolves such as half-bloods, fallen and pure-bloods.

Eating Habits

Carnivors to the max. Werewolves primarily hunt and eat in their hybrid forms. During the sessions of pack or lone hunts, they will seek out large and filling victims, or a number of smaller victims. Werewolves primarily diet on muscle and organs, tearing away flesh and hair to get to the insides. They leave bodies mangled and contorted hardly recognizable and only animal traces remain for evidence. Although they are not neat eaters, they are smart enough with age and maturity to dispose of bodies or bring food to the den areas in their territory. While human food is not preferred, it is enjoyable on some occasions, especially when hiding amongst the mortals. Human formed lycans will actively consume generic human foods, but will not be filled or satisfied. Blood is not a necessity for survival, but more of a delicacy and an exotic euphoric liquid that is known to act as a drug for the werewolf kind.

Predatory Relations

The only known predators of the werewolves are themselves, enemy packs, and humans. Knowledgeable humans or surviving half-bloods that are bent on the idea that werewolves should not exist, have set up camps and shops were "hunting" is becoming more prominent in highly infested regions. Werewolf Hunters are extremely dangerous, housing multiple silver arsenals, and half-bloods with their keen reflexes and senses, seeking werewolf havens and tracking them down one at a time. Rumors of war are said to outbreak in major cities across the globe, but speculations are slim as lycans have learned to keep a very very low profile.

Communication

Telepathy

Despite learning human linguistics for conversation, as they possess vocal cords, werewolves thrive off communication of the body and throw howls in their hybrid forms. Also, it is said that they share a telepathic link with one another, and can send coherent messages and phrases mentally. Often you'll see two enemy lycans locked in a stare down of silence, fumbling with telepathic methods. Only highly keen or very sensitive humans can pick on this projected waves, but none are able to send them back.

Human Relations

Folklore & Myths

Today werewolves are perceived as a myth. No known mortals are aware of their existence, and as far as their ability to stay beneath the radar...well lets just say it's highly improbable that they would. In conclusion, werewolves couldn't possibly exist but in legends and fairy tales, or stories to frighten your children.

Werewolf Hunting

Silver is a prime-anti werewolf factor. The potent element causes a sever allergic reaction, rendering the werewolf docile and destroying it's entire genetic make up. Once weakened with silver, killing it is a breeze. Should you find yourself interested in hunting them, get your self a nice colt and a well stocked supply of silver ammo. in addition, blades of silver or holy silver crosses can be even more enticing to play with. Best time to find them...beneath the full moon.

Hybrids

In addition to the creation of the Fallen, it has been known for inter-species mating to take place. Though the virus is not transmitted sexually, in the case of a male lycan and a female human, the offspring will indeed be born with werewolf blood. Unlike the fallen, the half-blood will not experience radical changes until puberty, and after that will age slower than most humans. Like it's werewolf origins, the half-blood will enjoy the rewards of heightened senses and the ability to move well. However, unlike the fallen, who were infected or the pure who are born, the half-bloods can NEVER control their hybrid change. Instead, they will only change upon the sight of the full moon, and not the overall conscious idea of it. Should it be visible to them, they will change. Half-bloods are carriers of the werewolf virus and transmit it through all the same methods. Half-bloods are the leading cause of Fallen creation, and yet still remain inferior to them in genetic design

Werewolves in the world of Traces are a type of Fae, the same type of Fae found in the story of Changeling. Fae are magic-based creatures who throughout history have been called angels, demons, monsters, faeries, spirits and sprites.

In pure human form their strengths are: keener sense of smell, slightly higher strength. As they shift more and more to Wolf form, they gain more and more of the Wolf's strengths and weaknesses.

In any form, they are extremely allergic to silver, poisoned by it, even. It will slow and eventually kill them. A silver alloy collar has been used in the past to imprison them. They are also prone to madness. He is also strengthened and weakened by the phases of the moon.

The Werewolf is a skin-changer fae, one soul bound to two bodies. He can have any shape between these two bodies, as well as the true shape of wolf or man. His power waxes and wanes with the moon: at new moon he is a plain and humble wolf; at full moon he is a master of wolves, fierce and cunning and large.

As a man, werewolves tend to have long noses with high bridges, sharp eyes of yellow or hazel or rarest blue, and coarse thick hair. His build resembles somewhat the build he wears as a wolf; if he is a lean wolf he is a lean man, and if he is a large wolf he is a large man. Likewise the color of his hair: if he is darkly colored as a wolf his hair will be dark, and if he is lightly colored or mottled his hair will be light. The exact color of his hair as a man is not necessarily the color of his fur as a wolf, however.

As a wolf he is slightly larger than a true wolf, and werewolves often have colorations that are rare among true wolves. Their coats do not change with the seasons.

The werewolf's mind is largely shaped by his experiences in both his forms. He is born with dual natures, wolf and man, but by his rearing he can be shaped more wolf-like or more man-like. When he wears the body of one his nature is more inclined to that one, but the essential soul and intelligence of him is always the same. Whether he speaks the language of wolf or man or both is due entirely to his upbringing.

It is sometimes said the werewolves were originally derived from a mix of fae and mortal blood. A popular legend of their creation claims that the seventh Duke of the Fae lay down with a Wolf and a woman, and produced the first werewolf twins under the full moon. Their species can interbreed with humans, but as the blood thins, so does the level of power and control, until eventually there is no Wolf, only man. Their species can also interbreed with wolves, with similar consequence. Unlike true wolves, they cannot interbreed with dogs.

A man cannot be changed into a werewolf by his bite.

Werewolves who change only at specific times, or whose minds are entirely changed when assuming different shapes, are usually werewolves of thinned blood. Pure-bloods have absolute control of their shape and can if they wish live the entirety of their life in a single form. Uncontrollable skin-changing in pure-bloods only occurs with madness, death, unbearable pain or puberty.

Language of the Werewolves. Werewolves are able to speak wolfish (the language by which wolves communicate) and mannish according to what they were raised with. In the height of Werewolf culture, all werewolves spoke wolfish, mannish and a third unique language that was the tongue of werewolves. It is mostly a spoken (out loud) tongue but also incorporates some of the body gestures of wolfish. It is speakable in any form between wolf and man. Outside hearers of this language describe it as a guttural growling and snarling that still resembles a language of man in some ways. (Having a pattern recognizable to the human ear as "speech.") Lately, however, most werewolves speak mannish or wolfish according to the shape they keep most often, and have lost the werewolf language entirely.

Mating. Werewolves do not necessarily mate for life, though it is common practice. In this scattered time it is much rarer; when two werewolves meet, by instinct and chemistry, they are driven to mate or fight, but even after mating they do not necessarily stay together. This is a rare instance of werewolves going into "heat" as it were. Werewolves do not normally go into an instinctive overwhelming need to mate save after a long lack of contact with other werewolves, during which their chances of conception are doubled or even sometimes tripled. Also, in times when the strength of the population is at great threat-- for example, after a devastating loss of life from attack, or after a great plague, werewolves may experience an overwhelming urge to mate and reproduce at that time. In normal times, werewolves sexual urges are more similar to human urges, with the desire to mate at any time and sex used for a variety of purposes other than simple breeding.

Sexual play can be used as dominance play and can be used to intimidate another werewolf, or alternatively to gain favor with a higher ranking werewolf.

During the particularly bad period in the history of the Hekatoi, when they were driven away and not tolerated by the Packs, they became infamous for their "heats" and embarrassing behavior during "heat"-- as they were so often solitary and away from the Pack that they often suffered the overwhelming urge to mate when encountering a Pack. This led to a misconception that the Keepers somehow mixed their arts with sex magics, or that they were crazed and in uncontrollable heat at all times.

"Packs" are both family and tribe. All the females of a Pack are usually related hence of one Line. Males leave the tribe to mate. Rank is very important in Packs and established through a variety of means, but in the end comes down to how much one benefits the pack. In hard times, this often means strength and prowess at defending the pack and keeping them fed and healthy.
