Thara continued down the ancient hall and as she passed by the doors that still held the names of many that once graced these hallowed halls, a tear and smile made their presence upon her face.
Finally she came to the door that held her name etched into the silver plaque upon it. Pausing a moment she looked back up the corridor to where she had left Vargus and felt an all consumming need to return to his side. Thara restrained herself, for they both needed time, yet her heart was much warmer and the heartfire that burned inside had brightened immensely since coming back here and finding him standing and waiting for those he and Pyriathin had summoned.
Shaking off the nostalgia she lifted the silver latch and pushed the door open and it felt like walking back in time. Very little had changed, except for the layer of dust, not even magic could keep at bay. Leaving the door open she moved to the window and threw open the draperies and pressed open the window so fresh air could fill the room. Even with the tint of a chill in the breeze, it felt good and it let life return to that which had been sleeping inside.
Removing her white cloak, Thara whispered some cantrips that she knew, it helped to speed a few things up till she could get her routine back in motion. The dust vanished and once more the ebonwood of her furniture shone as if it was new.
Stepping to her small writing table, which was her desk she took a seat and let things pass through her mind. "A new beginning for us all..." Her soft voice whispered to the skies, she let her black wings lay across her shoulders, those would have to be explained, but she had gotten use to them and was just at home in the sky as on the ground.
Opening up her small carry bag she began to pull out a few items that would be added to the other things in the room. A small potrait of Vargus, she had drawn it hersel, for it was hard to sleep and not see him in her dreams, so in his absence she had drawn some pictures of him and this one she had brought from the Castle to adorn her desk.
She pulled some other items and put them in chosen spots around the room, gifts from her People back in the Royal Kingdom of Hue and a crystal bowl she had placed some candy tidbits inside for those whom sought her council.
She took pride in being a High Priestess, more so than being a Queen, she could give more of herself in that manner and here at the Fortress and the in the New Beginning, she would do the same along with any other duties placed upon her.
First order of business as Pyriathin and Vargus had indicated, was recruiting. Thara had not always been good at doing this, but she gave effort at everything she worked on. Recruiting meant an Recruit Application, she knew without a bit of forward knowledge they could allow darkness to enter and begin corrupting that which they had returned to life.
She reached in her desk and pulled out some parchments and began to form an outline for some form of application. She would check with Py and Vargus for more ideas on this, but a rough draft to start would be heading in the right direction.
She smiled as she worked remembering filling out her application for joining the Brotherhood, it was a bitter sweet time for her, she had been younger and much more naive thsn she was now. It was a learning experience bsck then and now she would be the teacher to those that would come to these hallowed halls.
Those were the days she let flow upon her mind as she worked, a cool breeze drifted through her window bringing the scent of the gardens below. Laying down her quill she stood up and moved to the window and looked down upo the gardens, she remembered Jonathan whom took pride in caring for those gardens and wondered where he was now along with others whose faces were absent from these halls. Maybe new faces would bring back the life that once flourished in these halls and the mistakes of the past would be avoided this time and Light would prevail.
